Sorry I did not check first

wish I had checked this out before I decided to use it. I had one simple car to check on and now I am in the same boat as everyone here...I alerted my credit card company and also am sending them a copy of the reviews here. Hoping that all of us finally get this nightmare finished...

Total scam!

Total scam. Multiple charges when all I wanted was one $1 report. Over $100 charged to me over three months.

Two different names on two different…

Two different names on two different charges. Tried contact phone number on credit card statement and got message that calls had been "sourced out" with no other number to call, no website information and no option to leave message.
reported to my credit card company as fraud to deny future charges. Then noted same charge amount under USAvinchecker which had chat line but no other contact method and placed a message for refund/cancellation with my contact information. not once by twice within one week. No reply. Again denied charges with my credit card company who refunded my money and cancelled my old credit card number and replaced it with a new one. Very consistent with a scam. Don't use these companies with a $1 "processing fee" for a free first VIN check which gets your credit card #. Would give this a "0" rating if this were possible, but this should warn others.

scam

scam. I have now had charges under 3 different company names. usavinchecker.com, VINRECORDUSA.COM, CAR CHECK DATA, signed up for a $1 one-time use, and have called and asked for a refund twice.

Scam!

Scam!! Do not use! They gave me the $1 report, then charged me the subscription that I did not sign up for and then there is no way possible to cancel the subscription. Live chat does not work, the email provided is not valid and the phone call will not allow you to press a # option to talk to anybody. It's the worst scam possible and now I had to open a dispute with my credit card company and most likely cancel my card. A lot of work to get your money back! Watch out!

Stay Away!! Total Scam!!

I wish I could rate them with a 'zero star' rating. Complete scam. If you read the Terms of Agreement, on page infinity there is a small mention of the monthly subscription you are agreeing to. I chose NOT to agree and backed out of the site but still was charged $1 and then $24.95 immediately. Nobody answers phone nor does their auto-attendant do anything. Now having to dispute these charges through Citibank and will probably end up getting a new card to end this scam. Just spend the big bucks on a formal CarFax and you will be happy, like I should have done.

This is a complete scam. They take your money and you get nothing. Also, impossible to cancel

This is a complete scam! I paid for a vin check as I just purchased a new car. The agreement said $1 upfront and 24.95 a month after that. I was charged for both immediately. Terms state you can cancel at anytime by live chat, email, or phone. When you call the customer service number. Nobody answers. It actually hangs up on you. No response from email either from "Alex" Also when you try to live chat, you literally get no response. I am disputing this with my bank now and cancelling my card. Steer clear! Whoever is running this should prosecuted. I'm guessing it's coming from overseas though. Hopefully, nobody else gets suckered. I am usually pretty careful about these types of things, but this site actually seemed legit.

Same people. They have charged me twice for $24.95 in less than a month, plus the $1.00 I spent to get the report.
I NEVER got a report.
I am still waiting for confirmation of my account creation, confirmation of my purchase.... hell, still haven't received the vin report.
Yet, the multiple times I asked to cancel my subscription, I am still here, now writing a stupid review.

Oh, and I haven't successfully spoken to someone on the chat, or by phone. It rings, then goes to a voicemail after a while, which they never responded to.
I have had to resort to shutting down my card to order a new one, and challenging the charge with my bank, which screws up my ability to handle my business until my new card comes.
