I went for an eye test to get some work glasses for long distance and short distance. These where ordered and then my prescription was given to me so I could buy some more from another retailer. I rang back up as my pupil distance was not on the sheet, even though they had taken it for my original purchased glasses. I was told that they could not give it to me the unless I paid £35. I said that they already had the reading as they had ordered my glasses. They went on to say that they would be liable if they was wrong. I then said they would be liable for the full prescription, ie axis-sphere and add. They would not budge. Feels to me it was a way of getting more money out of me. I will do the free online test to get my reading and never use Valli again. This review is for Valli Chanterlands avenue Hull.

I have for years used a Huddersfield Town Centre Opticians but now , as an elderly non driving widow ,I decided to try out the Honley Branch of Valli as it is virtually on my doorstep

I was warmly welcomed by the staff this morning when I went for my annual sight test with Lara. The service there is always efficient and very competent with helpful advice and the resulting eye care is excellent. Thank you.

I bought my hearing aids from David at Valli Optician’s, Cheadle Hulme Precinct.
David explained the process clearly and addressed my specific needs. He is very professional, caring and at no time did I feel pressurised to buy.
The hearing aids he recommended are great and so comfortable. I would be lost without them.
Also the after-care is so re-assuring.
I would not go anywhere else.

Very knowledgeable member of Audiology staff spent time discussing the available options, I felt listened to and was shown the new Nuance Audio Hearing Glasses, I left feeling there there was no sales pressure and would gladly come back again after some time to consider the options given. I rate the service highly and would have no hesitation to consult them again in the future. Thank you…

I changed from previous opticians because their range of frames had become very limited. The service from their staff had always been good, but not even close to as good as Valli.

Valli opticians provide a very personal, professional & efficient service. Their optometrist’s are exceptionally helpful (I have had a number of eye problems). This excellence is matched by all of the other staff. They all fall over backwards to look after you and make you feel a very valued customer.

I unreservidly recommend their services.

Very impressed with this business. The staff just couldn't have been more helpful when I recently ordered glasses. They went way out of their way when there was a problem caused by me ! I have the utmost faith and respect for them.

Yes another good review. Collected my new specks today. Faultless again, appointment booked and no waiting. Glasses fab, extremely happy with them, same cheery staff even though it was busy and cold in the little centre.

Really happy with my experience. I had had glasses made up at one of the national chains, but their prescription was wrong, which led to weeks of headaches and stress. I'm a proofreader, so obviously I use my eyes a lot!

I went to Valli for a second opinion, and Mariam their optician was really thorough and produced a prescription which was quite different from the original. When I decided to get lenses made there, Julie estimated a one-week turnaround time, but then called just a couple of days later to say my glasses had already arrived! Very professional and quick, and so far, so good with the new lenses – looking forward to not squinting!

I had a sudden problem with my left eye and was seen by Lara.
From start to finish she put me at ease, was so professional and thorough.All the staff are friendly and would fully recommend Vialli.

My glasses purchased elsewhere were not fitting well. I dropped into Valli today and they couldn’t have been more helpful. They carefully adjusted the bridge and arms, and the glasses now fit perfectly. They wouldn’t accept any payment. I was stuck by what a pleasant and friendly place it is. Many thanks to the Valli staff.

I had such a wonderful experience buying my new glasses at Valli. I am a very indecisive man, and I was afforded the time to make the right decision over many 'trying on' sessions, and because of this I have no ‘buyer’s remorse.’ Big thanks to Emily who made the whole experience very pleasant. You can tell she loves her job and as a result makes you feel welcome and relaxed.

This was my second time visiting Valli optician and will be last one. It was 3 years since last eye check, so I booked appointment for check up, first appointment was cancelled as there was no optician avalible, they were meant to book me in and that never happen so I rebooked on line. The test it self was £35 which is pretty standard, I originally ordered glasses from their shop but than cancel those 24h later as I wasn't sure with style I choose, to get refund was an absolute faf, I had to wait for manager and book an appointment to cancel and receive the refund, this.took over a week to get sorted and looking at the invoice I was also charge £45 because I took glasses from their display, I was never told about that charge! But I wasn't too fussed as I was getting refund. Also, once I have ordered my glasses from elsewhere they told me my prescription is not complete as it was missing PD measurement and I had to go back. For this I was charged another £35 which is absolutely ridicules, as they would have that measurements on their file as I bought glasses from there before, but they refuse to give that information and I had to pay for PD. Never mind you would expect this to be done when prescription is issued. Never mind PD to measure took 2 second with ruler you can purchase on amazon for £5 and reading about I feel like it was not done correctly as lady who did this stood to close! Nevermind, most optician don't charge for it or is £10 and not £35 as full eye test, when I think this should be included in eye test anyway!
So over all, stay away from them, there is no care for their return customer and that is why I will never return and hopefully make someone else think twice going there

I had an excellent Eye Test with Zaheera. She was very thorough, giving clear explanations throughout.

Lukemaan then guided me expertly through the process of choosing frames.

I am delighted with my new spectacles, which were ready very quickly, and also the excellent attention of the staff throughout.

I had put off going to a professional optician for years and have made do with cheap ready readers. But then my eyesight got worse and driving was getting dangerous. I went to Valli (used to be called Barradells) and I was made very welcome by the lovely friendly staff. They have all the latest testing gear and a great range of frames. I now have two pairs of glasses, one for everyday use and driving, plus one for work use. Everything is amazingly crystal clear, like I was young again! At last I can appreciate my 4K television that is pin sharp! THANK YOU to all the wonderful team at Valli Cheadle Hulme Precinct, you really are excellent.

The service I received at the Outwood Branch of Valli opticians was first class.
Anita reassured me of all my concerns during her examination and gave me confidence of the way ahead we have to proceed.
All members of staff were very professional in all aspects of their respective positions and gave me sound advise.

I have had new spectacles and sunglasses from Valli Opticians, Birchwood, Warrington for 4 weeks.
Finally, I own glasses that are fitted for my facial features and staying on my nose too! 👍

I am able to see clearer during driving and in distance vision.

The service I have was excellent.

Andrew, the optometrist, performed all the tests needed, explained along my eye condition and provided information on long term care.

Kath, the dispensing optician, was polite, very patient with my glasses selection and carried out the fitting seamlessly as well as answering my questions.

The administration staff were also courteous on the phone and in person.

So glad that I now have an optician service that is dedicated, helpful and efficient.

Incredible service . Phoned 9am with painful burning eyes. Saw me at very short notice and extremely helpful and knowledgeable of my dry eye condition. Definitely go above and beyond what is expected. Thank you so much Zunari (Honley branch)
