VanCAD is free camper van design software - a browser-based 3D conversion planner for campervan builds. Start from a real van, with over 180 models traced from the actual vehicles in the exact length and roof height you're buying, and plan your layout to the millimetre. No download, no install, no licence, no high-end graphics card. Place furniture and appliances from a large catalogue of ready-to-drop-in parts, route your wiring and plumbing through the wall cavity, and build anything the catalogue doesn't have with the Custom Object Generator - combine and boolean-cut primitive shapes into any part you can imagine. Save multiple states per item, so a bed shows folded away or made up, cab seats in driving mode or swivelled into the living area, and an awning stowed or deployed. A live bill of materials keeps a running total of cost and added weight as you build, so you can check the design against your van's payload before you buy anything. The full design suite is free on a free account: every van, every component, every output. Free sessions are time-limited; a VanCAD Pro subscription adds saving and cloud sync so your designs follow you between devices.

You are doing pretty good

You are doing pretty good. Still struggling to rename components and groups and change states, but hopefully I will get there.

Thank you for the review! Sorry that renaming, groups and states have been fiddly. You can rename a component, group or state by double-clicking its name in the list. The "Group and arrange" tutorial (under the "Tutorials" toolbar button) walks through grouping step by step, and we have a guide to creating states on our website: vancad.com/guides/intro-to-states

Clearly this needs to be easier to discover, so we are taking it on board. If anything else gets in your way, or you have any other suggestions, the "Feedback" button in the app's toolbar comes straight to us. We read everything sent through it, and a lot of what we ship starts there
