Buyer be aware!

If you ever decide to take on "Personal Training" and suddenly you have a legitimate reason such as work related to downsizing due to recession or suddenly medical issues related to it (via customer support responds); it is still not reasonable enough to have it cancel. I had every good attention to fulfill my personal training sessions until circumstance arise. I had only 1- 30-minute session just starting my journey out of 6-month sign-up. Its very early enough to have it cancel without a penalty. It such a de-service to members of not having options.

They sell you a great conversation without reading such a lengthy contract in the middle of a busy gym floor. And so, customer support response is to either move 25-miles away from a VASA gym and show a utility proof --in order to cancel contract account or freeze account for 90-days with a $10. cost each time...??? Such options. Does that sound right?! Whoa! What an unbelievable of responses.

Pretty much is too late once you sign their contract! And so, I wonder how many others got the same answers as I did? Whatever you do, don't sign that contract of service! Even if you try to cancel your membership for any reason you still can't until that "Personal Training" portion is paid first!

Such business considering of it being in a customer servicing fitness industry. Is businesses hugely hurting for such policy? Unacceptable.

I was charged the annual membership fee…

I was charged the annual membership fee and a monthly fee. I agreed to pay the monthly fee while I took a pause after two years of being a member. I asked for the annual membership fee to be returned since I would not be using it. I called two phone numbers and no answer. I walked into the facility and was advised by the supervisor that she had no ability to address this. I was advised to e-mail which I did. It took 3 days for a negative response. They never talked with me in person. Then they charged me an additional monthly fee on 3-7-24 even after I canceled. They displayed poor communication and poor customer service to a dedicated, elderly member. I plan to expose them with better business, inc because of my experience and in the hopes that others do not have this same experience.

These guys are absolute crooks

These guys are absolute crooks, I don’t know how anyone could work there and sleep at night. The gym and facilities are beautiful however the lies begin at the initial meeting. I was assured I could pay with my HSA. I told them I could not afford it if that wasn’t the case. When it was denied, they called me at least 6 times a day, asking for an alternative payment info. I told them I couldn’t afford that and needed to cancel. They never listened, but continued to call me until I stopped answer. ( I have to work, I can’t answer their calls all day) when I did that they sent it to collections, $4000 later (for 6 month)they have the audacity to ask if I would want to return to their gym. Nope, never and I will tell everyone I know.

Your Spa in this gym is a major health…

Your Spa in this gym is a major health concern. Your Staff is aware of hundreds of people that aren't paying to use this aspect of the gym yet allows it. They come in in there cloths and shoes and bring in there gym bags. You have signs that specify BATHING ATTIRE only and NO SHOES allowed. It's disgusting allowing these people and all the germs they bring into the SAUNA,STEAM ROOM and Spa area of the Gym. What is more Disgusting is the Manager and all the staff allow this.
Why won't you take care of this ? I've belonged since this Facility opened and it is rapidly going down hill. Don't take my word for it, come in and take a look if you care about the facility and what's going on. I have seen way to many GYMS go out of business being run the way you're running this one. Experience it every time in the last 2 years.

I wish I could give 0 stars!!

I wish I could give 0 stars!!! This place is money hungry and then if you don’t pay the cancellation fees they send your account to collections and it goes onto your credit!!! I had to pay $200.00 to cancel this membership to a gym I went to 1 time! The staff was rude and unwilling to help the 1 time I went and then to have to pay all this money to cancel is a shame! The gym is dirty staff sucks and just an over all bad experience DO NOT JOIN!!!!

Bad customer services

Cold pool, over crowded facilities. Filthy showers and dressing room. Bad customer service. Wet in the dressing rooms, fall hazard. Not good customer service. I won't go to vasa fitness again.

Stay away from the gym

Due to a personal family matter, I am needed out of town 5 days a week, home on weekends only. So I cancelled my VASA gym membership/ as I would not be around to use it. My personal trainer had cancelled our last session- and guess what- yes, I had to pay for it - $100 for nothing! They cancel, I pay! This is crazy! Nice place, nice instructors but the WORST business practices I have ever encountered! STAY AWAY!!!!

Vasa Fitness on West 38th street

Vasa Fitness on West 38th street. It is an unsafe environment. People carry guns there and the staff doesn’t do anything about this. They allow arguments to happen that has resulted in people being shot.

I have been a customer for6 years

I have been a customer for6 years. For the first 3 or 4 years I had a good experience with vasa. The gymns in utah were average, but the membership is cheap so I didn't mind. Over the last couple years though vasa has signed up so many new memberships that a workout that used to take me an hour or hour and a half will now take 2 to 2 and a half do to over crowding. I now spend at least an hour sitting waiting for a machine or weights. I'm currently looking for other options, as is every other person that I know who is a member. I travel around utah and this seems to be a consistent theme with st george, spanish fork and American fork being the worst. If you are looking to join a gymn and actually want to be able to work out in a timely manner look elsewhere. I've been complaining about it to management and customer service for the last year asking if they are going to open more locations, but the only response I get is that they think it's great and there are no plans to try to reduce crowding.

Hands down the best gym vibe for me

Hands down the best gym vibe for me. The staff here is among the friendliest I've encountered in any gym. They show a genuine interest in your health and fitness journey, offering encouragement and advice when needed. Unlike my experiences at other gyms like Anytime Fitness and Life Time, the approach to upselling personal training is far less aggressive here. Even after declining personal training packages, I've never felt any rudeness from the coaches, which is a pleasant change.

The gym itself is well-maintained, especially considering the high traffic it receives. While there's always room for improvement in the cleanliness of locker rooms and workout areas, it's clear that the team puts in a great effort to keep the facility in top shape.

Vasa Fitness has poor facilities and is unsafe for women

Vasa Fitness does not provide a safe environment to women, it does not keep up its equipment, and its audio and video services are very poor.

My wife was verbally attacked: no response.
Weight machines went unrepaired for over 6 months.
It was impossible to watch tv while on the eliptical because the audio never worked,

I thought I had reached an agreement but they turned me over to collections after I paid them the amount agreed upon.

I reached an agreement with Vasa Fitness to pay them t the money they claimed I owed them so they would cancel my membership. If they say you owe them money, you cannot cancel your membership until you pay them.
I paid them the agreed amount and they charged me again the next month. Then they turned me over to collections. These people are greedy and unethical. I paid them hundreds of dollars for a personal trainer for my daughter. Due to health problems, she was unable to use them. They refused to reimburse me for them or use any of that money towards what they claimed I owed them.

Whatever your bill is expected pay an extra $25 a month since they can't get their billing right

So where do we begin been trying to figure out my billing situation for over a year every month I get charged $25 because some issue with my card EOS never has a problem running the same card good luck trying to get a hold of these people on the phone you will call and no one will be available 50% of the time they'll say they will call you back and they never do this is how they make their money is charging an extra $25 then when you finally try to get a hold of a person I ran into an issue apparently 3 years ago I owe the money so when I asked the lady okay that's fine let's go ahead and pay it she said no you have to contact the collections agency and for now I have to close out your account I asked her why can't I just pay it all right then in there she was very very rude her name was s p e n n s they never seem to help you out with the situation nor do they ever fix their equipment certain equipment has been down for months and don't even get me started on the tanning beds that are never clean or their restroom smell like urine why is it so hard to pay your bill why is it so hard to get someone on the phone to actually discuss the issue I have to pay my bill every single month at the front desk on the same card keep in mind I do not pull out my card I just tell them or run it at the desk and magically it works every single time would not recommend this gym whatsoever it's really went downhill over the years the staff at the front desk is always nice and very helpful it's the people in the corporate office that seem to have the problems in Penny pinch even on cleaning crews

Ho-ly crap-ola

Ho-ly crap. This place is just as bad, if not worse, than going to a used car dealership. I went to the Villa Park IL location, I signed up for the STUDIO membership ($34.99) plus Kidcare ($10) for $44.99/month plus the once a year $49.99 rate lock in fee. Fine with me. But they had a $44.99 fee on my bill listed as “first month dues”, even though the first month was supposed to have been charged the day of sign up. I thought that was weird, so I contacted their customer service. They took that charge off, but the next day dropped me down from a STUDIO to Fitness membership, and charged me $44.99 for it, more than double what it was worth originally ($19.99)!! Then, 6 hours later, added ANOTHER $14 onto my membership price, and charged me extra for Kidcare that’s supposed to be included. ALL WITHIN 72 HOURS OF SIGN UP. Customer service is closed for the weekend, but you have until midnight on the 3rd day after signing up to cancel for free, so I did. I later realized that the “first month fee” is literally the fee that was supposed to be charged to my account the day I signed up, but it never was, because of that 3 day grace period I assume. But that was also not disclosed with me, and that makes me uneasy. Im not going to give them the chance to charge me unnecessarily and lock me into an outrageous rate and hope they will change it. I’d like to work it out, but Im honestly kindof scared to stay with them at this point. Sucks cause my daughter really liked it and so did I, aside from this. I’ll probably have to pay an arm and a leg to go to a similar place, but its not worth getting hit with hidden fees and a contract that isnt even followed by the company that wrote it. Absolutely disgusting company, which is especially sad because even the people that work there seem to like their job and will help you out and answer all your questions (either that or they are just really great at putting on that mask). Was seriously looking forward to getting back into the gym scene, but depending on what happens on Monday, I’ll likely be taking my money elsewhere.

This company is dishonest

This company is dishonest. I cancelled mine and my husband's accounts 6 months ago through the Ap. I assumed it was taken care of. I got charged 200.00 for annual fees and then they continued to charge us each 44.00 dollars a month. I had originally signed up for two 20.00-a-month memberships and without my knowledge, my account was upgraded. Not only was I being charged for something I canceled, I was charged even more than agreed upon. I asked that they work with me on a refund and I was treated very rude and then they hung up on me. I was told my account was indeed cancelled and I have not received a confirmation of Cancellation. In addition, this gym is dirty and gross.

Seniors are not welcome at Vasa…

Seniors are not welcome at Vasa Fitness!!!!!!!!!
About a month ago. I signed up at Vasa Fitness, and from day one, the younger crowd made it very clear that Seniors had no business working out in the weight room. There are several groups of boys and girls who would tie up four and five machines and multiply free weights for hours, while the Seniors, or those not part of the in-crowd, are forced to sit and wait until a machine and free weights become available. I worked out three days a week and every day all the free weights from 25b lbs and under were gone from the racks because the in-crowd would take three or more sets of free weights at a time keeping them at the machine they were tying up. Recently. I brought the situation to the employees, and as I was speaking to the so-called manager, she was extremely disrespectful and told me I should stay out of it and that she would handle the girls. I am a 71-year-old man, who uses a walker because I had a stroke last April, and have a hard time walking because both knees and my ankle require surgery. My workout is restricted to the upper body and only do exercises that sitting down or lying down, never standing. Most people in the gym treat me like I belong in a nursing home and not in their gym. Seniors, save yourself a lot of aggravation and sign up at a different gym!

I cancelled my membership and all…

I cancelled my membership and all attached memberships (my girlfriend), on 03/01/23. I hadn’t been to the gym since 12/2022 as I was out of town working. I looked at my account yesterday and realized $100 was pulled out from Vasa, to my surprise.

I got ahold of “Paramount Billing” asking for a full refund from March forward, as I’ve been billed monthly and didn’t notice (silly me). They responded this morning to my request saying I am SOL because I “only cancelled my membership”, how tf does that work? They’re both under my name and my card, we looked before I spoke with Vasa and she didn’t even have an option to pay a bill- because it’s my account… Listen to the reviews guys, the gyms are okay but the billing and misc. fees are absolutely terrible and they will take advantage of you any time the opportunity arises. Go to EŌS, they’re much better.

Minus 10,000 stars

Minus 10,000 stars
This company chooses to work with a company called, Paramount Acceptance, who uses extortion tactics against their customers. This makes them willing accomplices. How can someone give a written membership cancellation and the company does not perform the service, just so they can charge more fees and members fees from a person. Instead of charging the cancellation fee and cancelling membership; no, this company tries to narcisstically muscle a person's funds from them in slimy fashion. A sudden injury or medical relapse...forget about, this company chooses to ignore for money sake. The actual gym and equipment is good but not good staff, bad practices and negligent in completing written requests, plus...I DO NOT RECOMMEND VASA, or any company that deals with their customers in this exploitative manner.
