I signed up to a fixed price for the term that was confirmed to me by email but then they increased it within a year. Following my complaint, they offered me a new rate which was significantly more expensive than the new service I have now with another provider.
I terminated the contract and our bins were supposed to be collected at the end of May and still have not been collected.
Despite many requests for collection they continued to confirm new collection dates but do not follow through with them.
Today I was told that we wasn't down for this weeks collection and couldn't confirm next week because the systems were down apparently...

Yet another missed collection due to 'operational issues'
This is the 3rd time in 5 weeks. Can not be trusted to do their job!

I have been trying to get my skip emptied for 10 days and all I get is excuses about lorries breaking down and the driver has missed your collection. This is not the first time this has happened, it’s becoming a normal thing.

Very helpful

Great Area Representative who looks after us makes all the difference. We switched from Biffa after years of issues. Rob has looked after us at our 6 sites and is a breath of fresh air.

Trying to set up my club’s bin requirements on Veolia’s on line service proved awkward as I came up against the same ‘brick wall’ over and over. After managing to get through by phone the staff were very helpful. We liked the facility of being able to change bin capacity for mixed and general depending on needs. Details and contracts I had to pass on each time to our treasurer. Though our contract date went back to 30 May our bins only arrived on 19 June in which time we might have expected two collections on our fortnightly request. We repeatedly asked when delivery would be and we still haven’t been informed of the collection day. I don’t know whether the delay is the fault of central administration or our local depot (Croydon). Now that we have our bins this very day we are hoping all will run smoothly.

I have been a customer of Veolia for over a year, and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing.
During the last year, there have been numerous missed waste collections. Time and time again, waste has been left behind without any explanation, creating unnecessary problems and disruption. What makes the situation even more frustrating is the complete lack of communication and support when trying to get these issues resolved.
Whenever I contact customer service, I either cannot get a proper response or I am passed around without any real action being taken. Speaking to an operator rarely leads to a solution, and it often feels like complaints simply disappear without anyone taking responsibility.
What I find particularly unfair is being charged additional overweight fees when the excess waste was a direct result of Veolia failing to collect it on previous scheduled visits. If collections are missed, waste naturally builds up. Charging customers extra for a problem that was created by poor service is unacceptable.
As a paying customer, I expect a company of this size to provide a reliable service and respond when problems arise. Instead, I have experienced repeated missed collections, poor communication, lack of accountability, and additional charges that I believe are unjustified.
I have tried to be patient and give Veolia opportunities to resolve these issues, but after more than a year of ongoing problems, I feel compelled to share my experience publicly. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this service. Customers deserve reliability, transparency, and support when things go wrong, and unfortunately that has not been my experience with Veolia.

Great customer service. I managed to drop my mobile phone into the recycling bin and it was cleared by the bin men before I realised what I had done. Later that evening had a call from the Portsmouth depot to say they had recovered the phone at the sorting depot and had used the emergency contact info to call my wife. Brilliant. Well done Veolia (particularly Colin)

Beth was fantastic, she listened to my problem, and got straight to finding out what was needed to correct the issue.I had spoken to many people but they didn't find the answer. She told me that she would get back to me the next day but called me withing the hour with the solution. Thank you!!

The only person in your company who supported us and solved the problem was Kiran Singh.

We are a commercial customer on account 14591701, based in Sheffield S11. Veolia has not collected commercial waste or dry mixed recycling at our site since the end of January 2026 — a continuous service failure of more than four and a half months.
During that period: three full site clearances were booked by Veolia, none took place; a replacement bin promised for 14 May was not delivered; three telephone callbacks promised by Veolia staff (on 14 May, 18 May, and from the complaints team on the same day) did not happen. Throughout the period Veolia continued to issue monthly invoices and collect them by direct debit for the full contracted service, despite no service being provided.
On 19 May 2026, after birds and rodents began dispersing the accumulated waste across the car park and our ground-floor tenants had cancelled client meetings to avoid clients walking past it, we paid an alternative licensed waste carrier to clear the site ourselves.
We served a formal Complaint and Notice of Breach on 15 May 2026, and a Notice of Termination for Repudiatory Breach on 19 May 2026 (case ref 02607154). 28 days on, we have had no acknowledgement of either letter, no substantive response, and no action on the £511.50 net refund owed on our reconciliation of the account. A chasing escalation email sent four days ago, copied to multiple Veolia inboxes, has also gone unanswered.
Veolia has issued some partial credit notes covering specific missed lifts, but only when individually challenged — never for the broader service failure.
Other commercial customers considering Veolia should be aware of the operational risk: there is no functioning escalation route when service fails, and continued billing in the face of total non-service is what we experienced.

Here's the Trustpilot review update. The original review stays intact for the record, and the update makes the pattern of non-response visible to anyone reading.

UPDATE — 3 July 2026:
Following Veolia's public reply on 22 June asking me to contact uk.veolia.waste.reviews. I re-sent the full case bundle (formal complaint of 15 May, notice of termination of 19 May, and reconciliation of the account) to that address on 24 June. Nine days on there has been no response, no acknowledgement of receipt, and no action.
Today we received a Veolia invoice for June 2026 — five weeks after the contract was formally terminated for repudiatory breach, and against a site where no collection has taken place since January 2026. This is now the pattern: no service, no response, continued billing.
The account remains 14591701, case reference 02607154, and the outstanding refund position stands at £511.50 gross.

Mohammed Ahmed took my call today which was not going to be an easy call to deal with as the situation was quite complex. Mohammed was extremely professional and so helpful, I was really impressed, I deal with a lot of suppliers of services and not all calls are dealt with so efficiently (in my experience). Thank you again Mohammed for making my day easier. Five star service! XXXXX

Sadly not an employer of aged experience . I thought with 8 years working for a utility company knocking on doors that a vacancy for a meter reader would be ideal but sadly I didn't get considered . Must need a degree to read meters for Veolia or just be under 66 years of age .
Kenny at Veolia customer service went above and beyond to rectify the problems I had.
Not only did he follow up a few days later but on Monday morning everything with my service was back on track.
Great asset to Veolia
