Only bad thing was, that the car wasn't completely fueled when we got it and it is impossible to refuel it in the end to the same level, so we just gave it back full. Also there is no parking disc i... See more

*Stefano (?boss of Vettura) pretended to call the police on us. Causing great distress to my wife and 4 year old.
We rented a Citroen C3 from the cagliari branch. On the second day we realised there was an issue with the reverse gear - making a loud noise / car shaking.
After multiple phone calls and emails eventually spoke to Stefano in the Olbia office. He told me to bring the car back to Cagliai.
On speaking to him I asked if I could video the car reversing so I could have a record of the issue with the vehicle to protect our deposit etc. He became extremely defensive and walked away. He then said it might have been me who broke the gear box. At this point I said I would record the remaining conversation. At this point he told me I was breaking the law and starting shouting in front of my family and tried to wrench my phone off me. He then phoned the Italian police (I knew this he was pretending) but this was extremely upsetting / scary for my family and 4 year old. I checked later and I had broken no Italian / Sardinian laws. It is legal to record phone conversations (without consent) and record in person ( with the other person's knowledge). He eventually calmed down and pretend to cancel the blue light response from the Italian police. A phone call that took all of twenty seconds! 🙄
One positive was the very kind lady (who previously went to university in Cardiff - sorry I don't know your name) who was also a Vettura employee who was there when we finally dropped off the replacement car. She was super helpful, kind and professional.
Everything was great, very fast service at pick-up and return, new car.
New car…..short wait time when we arrived but that was luck….. much longer when leaving……check in room v hot…..no issues provided you have all requirements…… two other customers having issues but don’t know what they were…… return inspection thorough with person rather than camera/scanner …..no wait time
Handover was good, car had a lot of scratches. We documented and it was accepted without discussion.
Return after 3 weeks was also without issues. The team was stressed a lot. To small amount of employes for the high amout ot requests, managing phone and customers in parallel. They were very professional and polite nevertheless..
Fast pick up and drop off.
However, when I tried to move the pick up time by 1.5 hrs (due to flight change), they could not do it. I was on the phone with discovercars.com (the broker), and they said to call the supplier (Vettura). I called the supplier, and they said I should call discovercars.com. The supplier keeps the car only 1 hr after the booked pick up time.
So, I had to rebook another car, at a higher cost, as I was closer to the pick up date.
Smooth booking, good prices, and friendly staff. Would really recommend this place!
The service, the price and the car were all great. After a very bad expercience with the carcompany chosen by our travelagency, they really helped us out. William was both professional and polite. Thx.
Great service and the perfect little car for our Sardinian adventure!
A clear scam that turned into fraud, then nearly became an assault. Genuinely unbelievable experience and this company should not exist.
We rented a car with Vettura on short notice after a different car rental declined us due to not having an international driver's license (I have a valid US driver's license). Had I read Vettura's reviews, I would not have chosen them due to the obvious scams they run (see the countless other reviews of fake damage being reported), but was taken to Vettura by the other company's shuttle driver.
Upon returning our rental in perfect condition after a car wash that they strangely require, the employee found a hairline scuff mark that was easily rubbed out with one's finger. Despite showing him this, he told me "he could feel the scratch" and proceeded to try to charge me for damage. I clearly showed him you could not feel it and could rub it off easily with a finger or towel, but he refused to acknowledge that. Even if this was a real scratch, something so minor is considered normal wear and tear by every "real" rental car company (Sixt/Hertz, etc).
We went to the office where he told me it was a 220 euro repair, which changed to 320 euros minutes later. I called this out as a clear scam and he told me this damage is common and he had charged his last 3 customers for the same damage just before me. Upon telling him I would not approve this nor would sign the return damage report he was trying to force on me, he told me he would sign for me. I told him this was fraud and I would be photographing him signing it to prove it was not me when I planned to dispute any charges.
Upon pulling out my phone to photograph the fraudulent signature, the employee got extremely aggressive. He began screaming at me in Italian and came within inches of punching me in the face, claiming this is illegal in Italy (not true). I responded calmly, trying to de-escalate the situation and calm him down. He then snatched my phone and ran out of the office, screaming at me and other workers (which all seemed to ignore him). My wife was able to grab my phone back and we left immediately while he chased and cursed at us/screamed other offensive remarks.
Minutes later, he tried to charge me nearly 700 euros two separate times, which fortunately were declined by my credit card provider.
I’m still shocked by this experience. It's clear from mine and the countless other reviews that Vettura is running an elaborate scam to sell fake insurance and then try to charge customers for non-existent damage and bill them or their credit card's insurance to make additional money.
It's also clear that photographing the employee set him off as he would've been caught red-handed in this scam, and therefore nearly risked assault to prevent this from happening. I'm still shocked this took place multiple days later.
The price was ok. The car was very new and I got an upgrade. I disliked that I had to return the car cleaned which should be included in the rate.
Charged almost €200 for a minuscule scratch on wheel trim which they could provide no evidence was caused by us. Although there was some initial correspondence they then ignored the request for evidence and charged us anyway.
Flight was delayed so arrived at 10pm but they did stay open for us thankfully
Car was smaller than I had booked and paid for. It was also in a poor condition, dirty and numerous scratches and scraps and clearly never been repaired despite numerous people losing their deposit I bet !!
I took over 30 photos under spot light of issues but could’ve get them all.
Tyre pressure warning light was on so had to go to a garage, at my cost, to get the correct pressures first thing next day so clearly hadn’t been checked. Other major problem was, paperwork confirmed petrol but at fuel station noticed the key fob stated ‘DIESEL’ !!!!
Checked filler cap and was indeed PETROL !
This is a serious error by someone your end as I could have quite easily put diesel in and ruined the engine and got a huge bill !!!
Pushing additional insurance costs is also just an annoying sales tactic to get yet even more money
I cleaned the car before return too to avoid the €15 cleaning fee !
Tatty car and cars need updating
The car was clean and tidy. There was a slight delay in returning it.
