Unprofessional and untrustworthy
Unprofessional and untrustworthy. Be warned! The two owners operate a whole portfolio of different websites: vintagesunglasses ; sunglassesworkshop ; jeeperspeepers … . Their division of labor is always the same. He acts as the main contact for online purchases, and she is either an assistant in the warehouse, a recruiter, or a manager.
My experience was with vintagesunglasses only.
What has happened?
First experience:
In June 2025, I found vintage Porsche sunglasses from the 80s there. I liked several models, but I only had the money for one: a blue pair of "Vintage Porsche Aviator 5622 sunglasses." The price was 250 pounds. I received a different model. Since I live on the European continent, I pay high customs fees, so returning them wasn't worth it. I negotiated with the website owner, Hamilton Remes, to have the blue sunglasses I wanted sent to me at a reduced price: 220 pounds.
A week later, the prices of all models had been significantly increased. Instead of £250, the blue glasses I had purchased—the last of their kind and the one still available for sale on this website—were now listed at £350 (Sold out). Today, in January 2026, they cost £500.
Second and last experience:
As early as June 2025, I knew I wanted to buy the 5620 as my next pair of glasses. The website listed two pairs for sale at £400 each. By the end of June 2025, the price had risen to £500 per pair. Nevertheless, I wanted this model. In November 2025, I had saved up the money and wanted to buy one of the 5620s. Initially, I have been informed by the owner of the web-shop that the price could be negotiated. This was subsequently forgotten. Instead, I was asked which of the two pairs I wanted. One was described as very rare with a yellow visor, and the other with a brownish one. I was surprised that two different versions were listed for sale, while online both models were listed under the same name. So I requested a quote. No further response, radio silence. Two to three weeks later, I wrote again, requesting a quote. When nothing happened again, I decided to buy both pairs online at full price. Then, suddenly, the so-called assistant from the so-called warehouse contacted me, saying the glasses were nowhere to be found. Although I received a refund, I still feel cheated.
