Further confirmation of Virgobanc Scam from Exodus Wallet support team.
Virgobanc have told me I need to validate an Exodus wallet with 10% of the balance of my account before I can withdraw my funds.
I could not find anything on the Exodus website to confirm this so I emailed Exodus support to ask and received this response.
Thanks a lot for writing to Exodus Support about this situation. I understand you've been dealing with Vigrobanc, and you are trying to make a withdrawal from your account, but they have been sending suspicious messages, which you are concerned about.
This has all the typical signs of a scam, and they are only trying to steal more funds from you. Please DO NOT send any funds to them for the said capital gains or wallet validation fee.
Please DO NOT send any funds to your Exodus wallet, as they have access to it and will steal any funds you have there.
The profit you've been promised does not exist, and they only want to steal more from you.
I know this might come as a shock to you and is a painful situation, but we'll be here for you if you have any questions. Meanwhile, I'll share more information with you here.
_______________
I urge you to stop all contact with the scammers, as their only interest is trying to get more money out of you. It is pretty common for hackers and scammers to give false hopes to their victims and apply deceiving psychological techniques to steal more from their victims.
Unfortunately, the only way to recover these funds you sent to them, which may result in a positive outcome, requires the participation of a law enforcement agency and that the funds end up on a centralized exchange. Without both events happening, I regret to say that the chances of getting reunited with your funds are slim to none.
_______________
As they helped you set up your wallet using AnyDesk, the scammers had access to your it.
This means that your Exodus wallet has been compromised, and to continue using Exodus, you'll need to start fresh with a new wallet by following this guide:
How do I delete my wallet and start over?
