I signed up to Virtual Non Execs after leaving my last full time operating role. Quite quickly, I secured a well suited and well paying advisory role. The team at VNE were helpful in guiding me throug... See more

This company cannot deliver what they promise
This is not a true or genuine company. I have had to refute their charges. They have somehow managed to game the system and have my original reviews from here removed. If this review is not published, I shall be writing to Trustpilot’s CEO and I am considering also sharing my genuine experience of this company publicly on Linked in, with screenshots, and tagging their CEO, if my review here is again taken down. I have worked with someone called Steve Benson at VNEX and quickly realized that this was not a true organization with ANY meaningful contacts or openings in the non-exec space. They promised to help support with Non Exec application opportunities and coaching which they are simply not qualified to do. Always be aware if any organization that charges up-front fees from a candidate during recruitment. This is a big red flag. You can’t attain a non-exec role by opting into an organization that charges for membership. It’s common practice for a non-genuine organization to ask for upfront fees and then ghost you or refuse be unable to actually supply the services they promise. Update: I see that VNEX have replied to my review here, trying to bully me with intended legal action. I also see that they have published misleading comments about my experience only telling "half the story" rather than my complaint emails which clearly show that what they promised was not delivered, their refusal to acknowledge it or provide a refund which is a fair part of due process and one that any professional organization would do if they had genuine customer service policies in place. It's actually illegal to not provide some sort of due process when you are selling products or services in the United Kingdom. In actual fact, no gap analyses was undertaken, no CV was ever provided, and no job opportunities were ever shared. The so-called networking events access is where your data is further provided to others trying to sell their services to you! I have had to regrettably take a further step and report this organization to American Express, who sympathize,
and have read every bit of my complaint, looked at the facts, and then escalated this to the fraud prevention team which has, in fact, fully upheld my claim. I will be happy to publish full screenshots of the actual complaint emails to this organization. You can also look at similar reviews here to mine here if you search by 1 star. I have since been working with a legitimate organisation and have achieved a non exec role there.

On boarding
The team was referred to me a few weeks ago. I’ve just engaged - very happy with the on-boarding. The connection was smooth, guidance appreciated and the set-up of my profile straightforward. Thank you, Steve.

Professional network for professional NEDs
An interesting network for NEDs, with a different model to most (all?) which has the potential to become huge.
The on-boarding process, from the initial call to arrange a more formal interview, to the interview itself (designed to tease out "are we right for one another?") has been exemplary. The focus has always been on what would work for me.
They rewrote my CV as a) I've not needed one for almost 20 years, and so b) I've no idea what companies today are looking for when sifting through them. What came back was very different to what I was used to in the past (the feedback for my original was "it's growing moss"!), but those who have seen it have reacted favourably to it.
I'm expecting the rest of the process/my experience to be just as professional and successful.
Recommended.
Superb experience
Needed to bring an investing NED into my SAAS business. Had 20+ applications to my job post within 48hrs...all relevant to the industry and position. Interviewed everyone, terms agreed and offer accepted to the perfect person within 10 days...couldn't have been smoother. Business has grown significantly since our NED has been part of the platform. Would highly recommend...seriously high calibre tool that isn't available anywhere else in this sector.

A business tool on steroids
I was one on the earliest members on this platform and now wouldn't be without it. Why?;-
1. I have invested the time and effort to get to know the top quality members who have the real experience of growing, exiting and advising businesses on growth and success across many sectors, nationally and globally. No conversation is wasted.
2. My introductions have been exceptional and I have access to a truly supportive network who understand that we all need a sounding board and direct leads to decision makers and importantly, they operate from a genuine desire to support one another. Many expect nothing in return and have a true desire to help, especially those that help themselves.
3. A valuable tool as a recruiter, whose business relies on the quality of my network. I have no need to pay expensive job boards to find a solution for my client. I simply ask the question "Can anybody please help me with..." It is fair to say that it has accelerated by network and cut out long winded searches and circuitous routes.
4. I too have been able to direct members to useful opportunities when I think there is a genuine value. Mutual back scratching.
5. I am able to monitor which members are ripe for Non Executive Director positions which I may advise my client to explore as a solution to their gaps in recruitment. I can also find C suiters very swiftly.
6. Access to funding for my clients is something always uppermost on my mind and this would be my go to platform for any client seeking any advice for growth in this respect or indeed anyone looking for investment opportunities.
7. I frequently get approached for NED positions myself once the members have seen how active I am in the network and the effort I have made to demonstrate that it is not all about me and what I can take. An established rule of business that works.
8. A plug in to a business tool that reaps more rewards than any business training and advertising that has historically costs me thousands. I reap what I sow. You either get it or you don't. I mix with those who get it.
Many thanks to the VNXD team that have supported me from the beginning. This is not a job board. It is a full support business tool.

As a VNX sponsor we are very happy!
My agency Tribes are sponsors of VNX and have found the platform fantastic for promoting our agency services.
We also recommended VNX to one of our clients that was looking for a finance director on a part time basis, they found the perfect person. Best part for our client is the service was free and they'd been quoted thousands by recruiters to help the hunt for their part time finance director.

VNED definitely recommended!
I have benefitted from VNED in several ways. As a business owner and director I've had great conversations and recruited NED's and board advisors for free through the platform.
As a NED I have had many companies reach out which has led to paid work as a consultant, NED and advisor. The networking and community is strong.
There are a lot of people on the platform, it's all there for you if you put the time in, just like anything else in life!
Would certainly recommend.
I found the network fantastic for me
I found the network fantastic for me. Within just a few weeks, I had made multiple connections with the right people to help me progress forwards and I found so many more opportunities too. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to expand their network of professional contacts especially if you're involved with private equity!
Recruited a non-exec and saved the £25k…
Recruited a non-exec and saved the £25k I was being quoted by various recruiters. I cannot sing your praises highly enough.
Really happy with the service I have…
Really happy with the service I have received from Steve Benson, I have met some great connections on the platform and am working with them to explore other opportunities. It’s a worthwhile investment.
Does what it says on the tin
Does what it says on the tin! At last - an authentic peer to peer platform for business people and entrepreneurs to network and connect.
value within the first 30 minutes
Ive used the platform for little over 2 months and the value gained within the first 30 minutes more than paid for the membership fee. I had an issue with my Amazon seller account and desperately needed an intro to someone who actually works at amazon as was going round in circles with their customer support. As mentioned above within 30 mins of me joining and posting on the network I had multiple messages from members sending me contact details of a contact they knew at amazon. This platform opens doors to people you’d never usually be able to contact. Theres a real community feel here and everyone on the platform seems keen to help you however they can! Would certainly, and already have recommended to many business owners
An Exemplary, High Quality, Professional Experience
Having been a fairly early adopter of VNXD, as a member since late 2019, I can honestly say that I’ve had nothing but an exemplary experience thus far!
Whether it’s connections I made through the various lockdowns; the Virtual Speed Networking; Inner Circle; the Face to Face events or just engaging on a 121 basis with countless dozens of fellow members and the whole VNXD management team, I genuinely haven’t found fault with anything!
For me, as with joining any forum, to reap the rewards, one has to commit to invest both the time and effort, as well as the all-too-reasonable membership fees to get the most out of VNXD. Personally I strongly believe in the concept of paying it forward or “giving to receive” and the number of times I’ve been able to help others with connections and opportunities are innumerable - and THAT’s how I’ve ended up deriving the many benefits I’ve gained including securing my first 3 NED roles this year.
Quite seriously, with the exception of my 38 year career experience to date, joining VNXD has probably been the next best investment I could ever have made in my future NonExec career.
I’d recommend it to any professional who’s willing to take the same time and effort to make things happen. #ForzaVNXD
Great experience so far with these…
Great experience so far with these guys. I was new to the NED space before I found Virtual Non Execs but they’ve helped me source a number of opportunities.
Significant problem caused a one star review but the recovery by VNXD allows me to move that to four stars
I had a major dispute with VNXD which resulted in a one star review. IMHO all companies have issues - it's not the issue that is important but the way a company resolves the situation. Kudos to Sarah Mann at VNXD for stepping in and acknowledging the issue and fully resolving the matter. What was a significant problem became a postive experience - thanks to Sarak.. I now upgrade my review to 4 stars (you drop one because of the original blunder)

All talk
All talk, but nothing to show for my membership. Complete waste of money. Avoid
I rarely leave reviews but on this…
I rarely leave reviews but on this occasion I need to.
This so called NED network charged me £700+ on the promise of being able to find me NED roles. Then once I joined they changed their tune to imply that they did not promise anything and instead they were just a network.
Once joined you hear nothing from them. This is an absolute pointless service and you can do exactly the same for free on Linkedin or by joining an actual networking event.
I would give them 0 stars if I could.
Scam artists
Scam artists. Take your money, promise an email every week with leads. Nothing.
Then when I chase them, they're all hot a making a million promises.... nothing.
Save your money, apply for ned roles on LinkedIn.
