Cowboy sellers of hearing aid

Purchased hearing aid on 24/03/2025. Took a month to arrive. Despite requests for info about protracted delivery time, they were never responded to. To this day I have not even received a receipt or a bill of sale. Took out an extra warranty, for £10 at time of purchase, that offered the earth if anything goes wrong with hearing aid. Within a month of delivery hearing aid completely packed up. Wrote to the seller, VITALHEAR (aka EKOMM SOCIETY LTD), to describe the problem. They demanded that the item be returned to China at my cost. Set up a complaints procedure with PayPal through whom payment made. They were sympathetic to my claim for reimbursement, subject to returning the hearing aid to China. Indeed, they even agreed to pay for the postal charge via Royal Mail. After further escalation, eventually PayPal successfully facilitated a refund on 21st June 2025.

Avoid this seller like the plague. They even claimed that their hearing aid resolves tinnitus: sheer BS! It required PayPal to force reimbursement. Without PayPal the Chinese seller (based in Hong Kong) would have refused honouring their “generous” offers for the extended warranty!

I have one final question: how is it that a Cowboy company can claim a Trustpilot score alleging 4.9 out of 5 (click on their website at top of page where they allege high score with Trustpilot) given actual consistent scores of 1, that reflect that the company are scammers? Question for Trustpilot to address!

"looks like a rat, smells like a rat"

No address or contact details. Looks like a scam, sounds like a scam/. -99% this is my belief.

Though, the claim it makes early on about expensive hearing aids being scams is probably near the mark in my opinion.
