Disappointing quality of nut trees
In July 2024 I ordered 15 (bare rooted) grafted nut varieties from this business, each costing between 30 and 40 Euros. The plants I received in November were very small, around 25-30cm in length, where the tip of the tap root had been mostly cut off (presumably for easier shipping) and almost no feeder roots. I contacted the seller and voiced my concerns that these plants seemed very weak and may not leaf out properly in spring. I was assured that they would be fine if I didn't plant them outside but rather overwintered them in a damp cellar. The plants were hence potted up and overwintered in an unheated garage. In 2025 most of the nut trees had Buds swelling in the spring, however 5 of the plants did not manage to develop full leaves and ultimately shriveled up and died.
I contacted the seller asking for replacements or a refund but have not received any response.
Ultimately, the quality of the grafted nuts did not reflect their price and with a third of the plants failing to root this was a disappointing and costly experience.
