Utterly Unacceptable

Walkers Transport delivered several parcels of almost 300kg in London and little did I know that when I went out to talk to the guys they had left - Let me use this word, which have never used to qualify anyone - but they are absolute scum. No one notified this would happen. This is utterly unacceptable.

unacceptable delivery service

I would like to advise of the unacceptable delivery terms of this company.
Delivering a heavy (32kg sign on carton) item with the terms of leaving it at the curb on a pallet is a new experience for me.
I was alone at home and was told by the driver that he will not be assisting in using my lift or even placing the item inside the building. He also delivered the item on a big heavy pallet which I had to lift and move on my own. He bluntly refused to handle the pallet as well as the boiler.
I was not advised of the delivery terms. I could not prepare and organize help.
This kind of service is completely unacceptable.
There is no consideration for the condition and weight lifting ability of the client.
I am extremely displeased with the service provided and will aim NEVER to use this company again.

Driver needs to learn to drive
MW66DLE 24/01/24 around 1615
Coming through Middleton , firstly gets in the wrong lane at roundabout so pulls in behind me , then tailgates me to the next roundabout , then when on a small stretch of road before the roundabout pulls into outside lane which is a bus lane and then pulls in front of me with no signal and nearly takes my front end off , the idiot even smiled at my eldest before pulling across in front of us . luckily I’d anticipated what the idiot was doing , as I had my 2 children in the car , before he decided to then slam his brakes on to get round the roundabout .

DRIVER TEXTING WHILST IN M25!

BV66UCW seen being driven on the M25 near Heathrow Airport, being driven by a white male, 60 yrs approx, glasses and balding who thinks it's acceptable to drive an HGV whilst texting away on his mobile phone, then braking heavily as he's not paying attention to the cars in front. Utter liability and wouldn't trust this driver with a goldfish!

Rude Drivers and Poor Service

Collection of tiles was organised for 7/12/22 and special instruction was made for a pallet to be brought along. Driver turned up on 6/12/22 with no notice, and no pallet. Luckily I was home. I told him that a pallet should have been brought by him per the instructions, he proceeds to refuse the collection and drives off. I called the tile company to understand what was going on, they apologised and confirmed the collection will be attempted again on 7/12/12, as planned. The same rude driver turns up at my door 2 hours later (at least with a pallet this time), again with no notice expecting me to load 33kg x 28 boxes of tiles by myself. When I explain he will have to wait until my builders are back because he has yet again turned up with no notice, he rudely responds 'call your builders now, because my time is very important to me'. Guess what, my time is also important and I don't appreciate it being wasted by courier companies who cannot follow simple instructions on collection dates. If any delivery/collection is being made by this company, prepare yourself for the worst experience.

Appalling service.

Appalling service.
Just dump pallet anywhere and drive off, I asked driver to just take the pallet off the road and put it on my drive, he refused. This meant I had to carry every item on to my drive which took hours but it would have taken the drive 1 minute with his pallet truck!!!!’

Experience

Experience, feedback, thoughts & feelings
I use this service for delivering and picking up reptiles and have for around a year now. (mostly crested geckos, once a baby corn snake). Never really had a problem, animals arrived safe and were delivered safe though I think there's a lot of improvements needed to be done here and more info on how things are run. There's mixed reviews and a few shocking experiences heard from people and friends in the reptile community so just want to state a few things...

Walkers don't have heated vans and that is stated on their website though is amongst lots of small writing that can be easily missed as people generally don't bother reading everything... so when people are doing their bookings they assume the vans are heated as they allow the transport of reptiles. What reptile owners and breeders are used to is transporting reptiles in is a appropriate sized secure plastic tub with paper-towel on the bottom and ventilation holes. A way around the heating issue is to transport reptiles the usual way and then in a poly box (with a few ventilation holes) and a one time use heat pack... and that is what I have been doing now with no issues. However with the uncertainty of temperatures and care for reptiles, it has made me to go other couriers as a result. I think it should be made clear and stated on the website on how to prepare an animal for transport and what to transport that certain animal in. Think it should also be standard to have the drivers hired know the temperature requirements and care of ALL the animals being transported with regular checks on their well being. Really if they see an animal not in the right transportation box etc. they shouldn't take the animal in the first place. They should also check the wellbeing of the animal before taking it on as well.

There have been times where the animals have been picked up or delivered a few hours out of the stated time window... though guess it cannot be helped sometimes as its also down to what's happening on the road. However, some deliveries and pick-ups have been around 3-4am which really shows bad time management and disregard for the people having to answer the door at that time

In conclusion, I really want walkers to do better as it is quick and easy service with weekly pick ups and deliveries. and it is also easy to book... customer service has been quick and helpful... however I am quickly detaching myself from walkers as there are just too many people stating bad experiences that could have been avoided and there are better couriers out there at better prices for reptiles that I trust have the animal's best interests at heart being knowledgeable reptile keepers themselves

If you have the misfortune to order goods and Walkers are part of the delivery , cancel your order . Phoned customer no service at Leeds “They will deliver whenever they like and don’t care when we said it will be delivered “

Shocking service

Shocking service, can't rate lower shame. A women called Kelly thinks it's acceptable to shout down the phone and talk to me like 5 year old. They called me after lots of Ignored emails. As you can not make contact with them over phone. There drivers don't make contact with collection point as agreed leaving my customers extremely annoyed looking bad on my business. The bird arrived soaking wet and when you pay for a travel cage and they pack a macaw in a tiny box so her tail is bent and broken is disgusting.

Shocking service

Shocking service. Take your money deliver half a desk. Tried to resolve and they promise the earth and still waiting after 4 weeks. Cancelled order and guess what they will arrange to pick up the half desk. Asked how will you do this if u can’t even deliver. My advice stay well clear off this company.

More like the "Can't Do" company!

Despite Walker Transport's online tracker showing my order had arrived in their depot 2 days before the scheduled delivery date, and that it had been regularly scanned & checked by the depot, they still ignored the clearly visible delivery date and failed to deliver as scheduled by their own system!

This is a depot less than 40 miles away from my location!

I wasted a day waiting for the delivery and a full weekend’s plans were trashed as a result.

It's clear that Walker Transport's claim to being the "Can Do" company and all its claims of reliability & good planning are a complete sham. When you're put on hold on the phone, the marketing waffle spouted is laughable compared to the reality.

If your company uses them to deliver your products, you need to know how badly they are affecting your brand.

Terrible Customer Service after their errors

Terrible Customer Service -Tortoise arrived dead -I was told it would be checked constantly and overnight in the reptile centre by qualified staff. There is no Reptile centre -just a Warehouse. The driver was new and should not have told me he would check it or the overnight staff would check it (Quote Walkers -"he got his wires confused" ) The driver even lied to me and said he himself checked it at 1.30 and 5pm -(the tort was probably dying then) So Walkers admitted their mistake (the driver would get a telling off) but that's it -No apology /I had to chase them via email for a reply/no compensation and very abrupt replies -AND WHERE IS A CONTACT NUMBER -we all know companies with no contact details by phone are the ones who don't want to be contacted -Say no more -appalling behaviour!!

Unprofessional and disrespectful

I had a tortoise delivered for a birthday present to my daughter. They wanted to deliver to my workplace between 7-9:30 am. My workplace opens at 8 am. I called the driver who was not interested and asked me to hang up because he’s had a long day ! I had to wake up at 6 am to keep an eye on the phone for him to let me know when he’s on his way. He then texted me at 6:38 am giving me 15 minutes notice of his arrival when he knew I had to commute to work in order to meet him. 15 minutes from 6:38 am is 6:53 am which is earlier than the beginning of the time slot. I complained by email and they basically weren’t interested and didn’t even apologise for the inconvenience. They refused to send me an anonymised copy of the driver’s run or a copy of their complaint procedure and failed to answer any of my queries. My guess is the driver moved me to the top of the list out of spite and they are trying to cover for him. The driver didn’t even post a proper company card through the door , only a torn piece out of an A4 paper . May be he didn’t like my foreign accent ! I have never received such poor service from a courier . They’re that bad they make Hermes look like top class !

DO NOT USE

Do NOT use them.
They’ve killed multiple animals, reptiles, furries in their care recently and won’t own up to it. Say they’re not liable.
Sent a gecko and it arrived dead next day.
I am also in contact with other people who also have had animal turn up dead. Stay Away!
Shouldn’t be couriering animals they can’t care for properly!
