Great Courses
Purchased the PE Interview Prep Course off of WSO and scored an internship with an UMM PE fund. I believe the way the content is structured really helps, plus I found it comforting to have a guide being written by people that actually have been in the industry. Thus, would recommend and am actively promoting the course to friends looking to get into PE.

WSO has been a depository of knowledge for finance professionals like myself. From guides to tips, WSO is a community where everyone benefits. From my experience, everyone seems to want to help everyone which speaks highly of the online culture Patrick is trying to promote. I highly recommend WSO for aspiring Wall Street professionals!
I found WSO as a platform very useful…
I found WSO as a platform very useful when recruiting. There were plenty of threads with detailed insights about various professions in the financial field. I found it very useful when I was in college and was trying to understand where my interests best fit. And once I figured it out, I was able to leverage threads/other users to get better insight about the nitty gritty details. While I will say you won't immediately get a job by following the site, the various conversations definitely made me more knowledgeable/more prepared for interviews.
Great website
Great website! Very helpful for learning the ins and outs of the high finance industry.
Review from former IB analyst
I was an investment banking analyst for 3 years and now work in private equity on the fundraising / IR side. WSO was particularly helpful for me when I was 1) considering pursuing IB as a career path while I was in college and 2) mentally preparing / anticipating my internship. I did not find the site especially useful once I was an analyst, although to be fair, I didn't really spend time trying to use the site much. The main exception to that was occasionally checking top posts when certain headlines caught my attention and I typically enjoyed reading a post or two a week. The other exception was trying to use the site when recruiting for PE in my first year as an analyst / deciding if I should recruit on-cycle or not.
Overall, I think that this is a good website, particularly because of more senior community members who are willing to give their time to help guide new and incoming analysts. One thing that always frustrated me though was not having credits to like or dislike a comment on a thread.
Siterunners enable and allow racism
Siterunners allow racism, toxicity, misinformation, misogyny, and straight up degenerate behavior on their forums. Anytime someone tries to post something inquisitive it gets trashed.

Great forum and solid prep courses
Before I joined consulting from an engineering background, WSO forum has supported me with invaluable advice and tips, both during the interview process and before starting.
Furthermore, their excel modelling course helped me in getting comfortable with the tools I ended up needing on the job and never used before!

Fantastic community
Fantastic community, I am no longer in the CRE industry, full time in residential real estate.
WSO is a fantastic community that I am still a part of but not as active anymore. Would be great if there was a lending side to the platform where we could get some useful information from lenders within the industry such as shadow inventory impacting the residential markets from a corporate lending point of view. I had a client who part of strategic debt at Chase during the 2008 collapse, it would be interesting to expand the WSO platform to incorporate a bit of residential RE considering most realtors are absolute morons from my experience. As Tom Ferry put it, "78% of the people in our industry are low level players, the only way to differentiate your self from the amateur is through education" Fantastic community of Monkeys, Apes and Baboons !

WSO is good
WSO has been a very helpful resource to me, and many others members of it's community. It's definitely worth checking out!
Crucial for Newcomers
Played an integral role in helping me get a contextual understanding of the professional opportunities in finance and consulting. Infinitely grateful for WSO as a resource!

Great site to allow prospects a view into a insular world of finance. This site breaks down information barriers and helps balance the power structure between the employer and junior employee. Also allows those in the community a valuable space to blow off steam and commiserate.

Excellent resource.
WSO is the go-to Online Community for Finance Professionals!
WSO is the go-to place for anyone in the finance community to chat about industry trends, compensation, recruiting, or anything related to the banking or private equity community. There is no online community with the number of users or amount of quality content of the finance industry that compares to WSO. I love it!
WSO offers an invaluable help for anybody willing to break into IB & PE
WSO offers an invaluable help for recent graduates and young professionals willing to understand, learn and break into high finance roles. It’s impressive the capability it had to attract senior professionals willing to give back and help.
Having successfully moved from IB to PE and raised to a near-to-partner level, I personally feel less interest in participating to the community, especially because of the strong focus on early phase of finance careers.
Strongly recommended to anybody seeking to understand how to get into this world.
