Don’t know what defines a supermarket

Don’t know what defines a supermarket. Sainsbury’s at Heyford Hill Oxford. No longer has a dining area, wet fish counters, fresh meat counter, deli, and have cut the bakery to almost zero. They have rows and rows of tuna, but can’t find space for any herring roes or cod roe, and can’t provide a bag to put fresh veg in without paying for one. It’s no wonder people are turning from Britains favourite store to Aldi and Lidl, I’ve always shopped at Sainsbury’s but I find myself turning to alternative stores to get my produce. Shame on you Sainsbury.

Sainsbury’s Meal Deal and produce

Sainsbury’s delivery. Please check your email receipt carefully. I order every week and have noticed that the quality of fresh produce is plummeting. I have received some terrible products which have immediately been returned. However, today, I am furious that one item (the cheapest item) from a £12 meal deal was removed as it was not available. This then gave them the opportunity to charge me full price for the remaining items adding nearly £7 to my bill. On principle, I sent it the three items back. It is underhand at best and borderline theft at worst. It states that you have to order all 4 items to get the discount. The fact that they could not supply one of them is their doing, not mine. They should have either removed the entire offer or just left it as it was and sucked up the £1.59 loss of the ‘unavailable’ item. I cannot believe that in a time of more and more people suffering from depleted income that these giants can resort to such greed driven tactics. No, Sainsbury’s. Just No. I will vote with my feet from here on in. On a positive note, every single delivery person has been polite, kind, friendly and helpful, without fail and I thank them very much.

Supermarkets going down hill

I am getting fed up with all the supermarkets in this country. Their products are getting worse from what they were a few years ago. Shrinkage, vegetables in poor condition even frozen are full of storks instead of the heads.
I am going back to the local greengrocers, butchers so I can get some decent quality.

Outrageous

Stratford Centre, I'm a customer there 4 years ago and everytime is worst the customer service and staff more rude at self-checkout. No enough with that, today one of the staff was running around and he crashed with me a couple of times, and then he took my basket when I was checking on a shelf for 1 minute!! I asked him and he said but laughing "sorry don't leave your basket unattended". Excuse me? What is wrong in this place? They have no idea about customer services! I did not say a word but I left upset because I wasted my time there. And then, when I was leaving, the security sir asked me to check my backpack because I was long time around and also someone told him that I "touched the finger of somebody"!! I was in shock. How insulting you can be?? Why I would touch a finger of somebody??This is disgusting customer service! First you should check the camera and make sure before you point and blame me or anyone!!! Also, what is the point of a guy running around crashing with people when the store is so small and full of pallets almost impossible to walk around!! I will not come back there never again. They should learn about how to deal with people and respect them!!!

Lack of disability trolleys

Lack of disability trolleys. Asda in Castleford supply 2 old disabled trolleys and have recently renewed all of the regular trolleys to coin use ones. I am having to struggle with my elderly mother to balance a shopping basket whilst steering her wheelchair because they have not enough.Lidl and Aldi are much more disability friendly providing 6 trolleys. Disappointed with Asda overlooking disabled people's rights.

Over the last few months I have tried…

Over the last few months I have tried shopping at various supermarkets asda Morrison’s Tesco Sainsbury’s Aldi and Lidl just to try and get value for money and what I have found is you can’t always trust the price that is on display as I have been charged more for a item at check out than the expected price when asked why the check out staff say that is the price but I am quite confident that if an item is priced in store that’s the price legally you have pay I am now going to test this theory with asda in Ashton under lyne as they have been the most guilty of this and the reason is to make people think they are paying a good price and they know most people don’t complain maybe we need to start to complain

What an experience

Over 18 months ago having used Asda Winsford’s self scanner items weren’t completed. Aware I was asked for a full rescan. As the trolley was full I requested the whole thing go through a till point for ease and time. I was refused by a single member of staff who shouted THIEF call security. I had no intention of taking anything as it turned out the scanners were playing up. Something I could never have known.
A few weeks ago I was talked into returning to Asda Winsford by friends who work there.
Today 15/08/23 I was fully aware that an item hadn’t scanned or was a duplicate.
I loaded my shopping with every intention of pressing the no button. This notification shows you need some assistance.
Before I can complete this a check was provided. When the assistance arrived it was the same staff member as before.
I immediately informed them that the shop had an issue and could the items be re checked. As this person checked one item showed it hadn’t scanned.
They then stated “Your at it again. I have caught you again thieving “. At this a second staff member approached scanned the items saying They are all here you missed it. They counted and confirmed the correct contents of my trolley. The original staff member continued accusing me of being a shoplifter even after, accepting I had brought the possibility of a miss scan to their attention.
Security guards then approached walking into a provocative position and without any prior knowledge or information also began to accuse.
A manager was on hand and although they were sympathetic offered no realistic assistance.
Never again a complete disgrace.
I have be accused, embarrassed and clearly discriminated against by this store.
Treating people like rubbish is unacceptable. They don’t care about you or anyone just the cash.

Asda supermarkets have gone so far down…

Asda supermarkets have gone so far down hill I found it hard to realize how in such a sort time.
I used to shop in Asda all the time but not been in ages till today 1st isles fruit and veg so much rotting fruit on sale no bag for free pack unless you buy one at 20p a pop, next was the meat sections mince red on the top dark brown on the bottom, chicken breast veined red and slimy this is a sign the meats have been left in the wrong temperature at some point.
The whole store looked like a bomb had gone off in it with pallets left in isles very young adults up ladders with no one to see over them.
All in all it was that bad I will never go back.

Rip-off Petrol captured audience mainly pensioners

This Tesco store takes advantage of its customers who are a captured audience of mostly pensioners: this stores has zero competition specifically Petrol - £1.43 no other supermarket. If you travel to Dundee this being 13 miles away it’s no surprise Tesco Dundee petrol £1.35 because it has major competition Asda Morrison so on all £1.32/5 it’s taking advantage of customers in Cupar who have no choice.

Morrisons the worst customer service I…

Morrisons the worst customer service I have ever experienced…reported a member of staff for rudeness & shouting at us as if we were naughty children because we asked for assistance at the self checkout. Reported it but received no reply at all. I will be giving them a wide berth from now on. Plenty of other good supermarkets around.

Supermarkets are becoming money grabbers

Sainsbury’s and I guess other supermarkets are climbing on the bandwagon to take your money off you. Some Prices are increasing by not 5% or 10% but by 20% to 30% on some stuff.
Like energy firms they are starting to boast about their profits.
We know they have to make profit, but with all the price increases, it is ridiculous. When transport costs go down, prices don’t go down.

Sainsbury's Don't want you anymore, just your money

I've just left Sainsbury's Pepper Hill branch where I do believe they are starting to push walk-in shoppers away. They don't need to pay out for shinny, warm, clean stores anymore. They want us to buy our shopping on line. Have you noticed how many of the isles are full of pallet trucks and pickers, probably on a timed allowance like amazon. And Then in order to leave the shop you have to show your receipt to a machine to let you out. If your not expecting this entrapment it can come as a bit of a shock. For someone that suffers with claustrophobia this may
well trigger an episode. I made my point to nice guy who was trying to look after 10 or 12 self service check outs who was very apologetic. It's not the staff, it's the lack of staff that is the problem. Profit before anything else. Well no more profit from me. Garbage......

M & S oadby parade

M & S oadby parade. Bought a £8 marinated full chicken. Only to get home and find the packaging broke and sauces run into all other shopping items, car and home. Floor is stained and won’t clean off. Informed customer service straight away, they ask for endless pictures and receipt and 2 weeks later after delayed communication from them they won’t refund without the return of the original product! Wow who would keep a chicken carcass !! Rubbish service from a major store who charge above the rest ! Avoid forever

Take a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction

Sainsbury's Tavistock Street, Bedford - worst customer service. Staff stand around chatting when you want to pay for good and leave. Whilst checking out today all staff vanished from the tills. Then when one returned and totalled up the goods he decided to walk off to pick up rubbish from behind the till. Better off going for a walk up the road to the larger supermarket where the price is lower and I had a pleasant walk in the afternoon sunshine. Won’t be going back where staff really don’t care about their customers.

Helpful staff

1st time doing a big shop in Aldi, Southport.
Staff, kindly gave ys a free trolley, as we didnt have any £coins.
Realised, id lost me wallet in store, and someone had kindly handed it in for staff to keep it safe. Before finding wallet, the poor guy on checkout, tried his best to work out my banking app to pay, even though there was a line of people.

Really helpful staff here.

Asda Supermarket Pricing

I have experienced problems with product price and availability in an Asda store, and am concerned at what appears to be a lack of business ethics and honesty by Asda.

Asda’s website quotes a reduced price for a dairy product, down from £1.95 to £1.

I went to an Asda store and found the product to be priced at £1.95, and I queried this with Asda Head office when I returned home. Whilst they offered a small compensation amount to adjust the purchase price difference, they did not explain why the store price was higher.

I thought they were remedying the situation, but when I visited the store 2 days later, the product was still priced at £1.95, and my visit was again a waste of time..

I queried this again, and was eventually advised that at the very base of a long website page, there was a note: “In-store availability, prices and promotions may vary from those online. Please check with your local store before visiting”.

I commented that they should put this note right by the website price listed, and not hide it away.

Although it would be a very quick job to amend the website, they have failed to do so as I write, 3 days later. I can only assume that they hope to encourage customers into stores by the offer of lower prices.

I have found Asda Customer Services unhelpful and incompetent, and their business methods to be very dubious. Obviously, I will not be buying products from Asda again, and would recommend potential customers to assess website pricing very carefully.

Unfortunately, Asda's website does not offer the opportunity to check Asda store prices on line.
