Do NOT Buy the Wavel Mini Portable Projector (or any other Wavel product)

I purchased the Wavel Mini Portable Projector (SKU: HY300-US) directly from Wavel’s website on December 27, 2025 for $233.10 CAD. It did not arrive until January 10, 2026.
While the (likely paid) review I read made it sound incredible, the projector has been a major disappointment from day one. The image is dim, soft, and uses outdated technology. It comes nowhere close to the brightness and clarity Wavel claims in its advertising. In normal use, it simply does not deliver the performance a reasonable buyer would expect from the way it is marketed.
I contacted Wavel the very day it arrived (January 10, 2026), well within Wavel's 14 day return window, to report the problems and request a proper resolution. Instead of standing behind their product, they told me I would have to pay about $70 out of pocket to ship it all the way to Hong Kong – even though their online presence gave me the reasonable impression I was buying from a North American or UK-based seller. They also stated they would deduct a 15% return handling fee and would only consider a refund one month after they received it and made it clear that if the package was lost, it would be entirely my problem.
Rather than offering a straightforward return with full refund and vendor-paid shipping for a product that does not live up to its claims, Wavel tried to “buy me off” with tiny partial refunds if I kept the projector: first 3%, then 10%, and finally 25% of the purchase price. I do not want to keep a substandard, underperforming projector and I declined every one of these offers. As of February 1, 2026, Wavel still refuses to accept a return on reasonable terms.
In my experience, reputable retailers commonly provide a full refund and cover return shipping when a product is clearly inferior to its advertised performance. Wavel has chosen to do the opposite, pushing high return costs onto the customer and making it very difficult to get a fair refund.
I am sharing this so that other buyers are fully aware of what they may be getting into – both in terms of the actual performance of the Wavel Mini Portable Projector (HY300-US) and Wavel’s predatory approach to customer service and returns. I am still seeking a full refund and a return handled on fair, standard terms but after a month of trying, Wavel isn't budging. AVOID!
The same warning holds for Wavel sites in other countries (ie. Wavel-uk.com Wavel-au.com, Wavel-ie.com, Wavel-us.com, Wavel-ca.com, etc)
