I contracted with Elite Moving Partners originally. Westcoast showed up to pick up my items. First of all it was the worst experience of my entire life. They were supposed to show up with two trucks to move my family on September 28 of last year. They showed up with 1 truck. By the end of the day the one truck was full and they said they had to drive to Sacramento to unload the truck in a warehouse . They then came back at 9 PM to pick up a second load which took until 12:30 AM the next day. They still did not have enough room on the truck for the rest of my stuff. Also I had to pay over $6,000 more than what I had agreed to pay for them to come back a third time the next day to get the rest of my stuff. Again they took all my stuff to their warehouse in Sacramento. The truck manager filled out a company performance survey that I was not ever shown and rated his performance and the moving experience as Excellent in all categories. To me that was plain Fraud. The manager then promised that he would return early on the 29th to pick up the rest of my stuff. Not only did they not show up the next day in the morning, they sent an entire different crew that arrived at 12:30 AM on September 30th to pick up the rest of my items. Again they dropped all my items at a warehouse in Sacramento. The following week all my items arrived in 1 truck. I had to make my final payment at delivery before they would unload my furniture and items. This was the third team of delivery personnel that I had to deal with. they were in a hurry to drop off my items and they had no clue on how to put my furniture back together like our dining table and our dual king adjustable bed on a pedestal. at least 30% of all our items where completely destroyed. ( China and $1,000 of Kitchenware, 65 inch 4K TV, Maytag Washing Machine, our adjustable bed stand was broken) and damaged numerous pieces of furniture. Prior to unloading the truck I took pictures of the truck and of my contents to prove I was being overcharged for the contents. West coast agreed that I was overcharged and issued a letter with a $3,800 refund to be processed by December 2, 2021. I have still not received my funds. I believe I have been taken advantage of and they have no plans on paying me what they overcharged me back.

It started with typical “salesman” tactics as the price of my move nearly doubled. The carrier Rep “Sam” assured me that paying the extra money would be easier than handling things on my own. So I paid, as ALL I was concerned about is getting my stuff moved within a couple days. Here we are going on a week, sitting and sleeping on wood floors, starting a new job on Monday with everything I own in a storage lot somewhere in the country not knowing if I’ll ever get my things. When I contact Sam, he says to call the moving company even though he’s the Rep. The only positive note is that the movers wrap everything with extreme care.

I’m so disappointed in West Coast and Gold Standard Moving Company. Beware!

Update: it got worse! Again, promised we’d have our household delivered within 3 days. It took 10 days! Multiple items broken, as items were STUFFED into one truck including on the lift gate. Movers would not take any packaging (wrapping paper cardboard box etc.) unless I paid him $130. Ridiculous! Price went from $6700 to $16,200! I can’t believe this company has 4 stars. Unbelievable!
