Proceed with caution ⚠️

Read the terms and conditions carefully. It would seem that you waive your normal consumer rights of a 14 day grace period once you fill out your booking form. They have no contact number that you can use to speak to them and everything seems to be set up so that you will be unable to get your deposit back and they have very limited responsibility and liability to you. Not recommended to use this service. I'd say there is a good possibility that this company is conning you out of your hard earned cash.

My experience with Otimo was great

My experience with Otimo was great. I struggled to find an instructor and I kept deferring my exam. Through Otimo I found an instructor quickly and I started my lessons. I passed the exam on the second attempt though, all sorted.

Mess company

Worse company ever. I was on the list and paying deposit since November. They were keep emailing me that I am in front on the list and never happen. They don’t answer the calls or emails . My exam it’s 1 week left and they just said that if I am not happy I can cancel it. So I was waiting since November last year for nothing. They are unprofessional and don’t have any management team . It’s a joke. run away from them .

The waiting times for lessons across the UK are around 3-4 months and we do try our best to get our learners booked within around 3-4 weeks. Sometimes this can change due to the learners availability also.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and understand your frustration. We did ask if it would be possible for you to change your test date, which would have been possible without any extra fees, but we understand that this was not a desirable option for you.
In response to your dissatisfaction, we have already issued a full refund for the deposit on the 6th march as soon as we had knowledge that you wanted a refund. We appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to improve our services to our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope that we can assist you in the future.

No success with Otimo

My daughter M contacted Otimo in December 2022 enquiring about intensive driving lessons. Otimo responded saying they had a special offer on for intensive lessons starting in January but she would need to pay a refundable deposit to secure a course. On 8 December she paid £85.00 on the understanding that she would be teamed up with a driving instructor in the near future.

She heard nothing after that so emailed and texted Otimo 4 separate occasions. She had one response saying that Otimo were finding it difficult to team her up with an instructor.

It is now 12 weeks since M paid her deposit and at no point during this time have Otimo voluntarily contacted my daughter to keep her informed. This is not a responsible or professional way to run a business - especially as the majority of clients will be young people. She would now like her deposit returned asap.

I have tried contacting your offices…

I have tried contacting your offices for over a week now regarding my payments and why they haven't been sent over to my instructor. I found out last week the instructor that you have set me up with isn't even signed up to otimo so I now need to pay him out of my own pocket after paying £100 already and starting a monthly payment scheme with otimo. I have tried to contact you to resolve this issue and yet I'm still awaiting a response. This isn't fair and I would just prefer a refund at this point.

Shortly after writing this review I had a lovely woman call me named brooke. She took care of all my concerns and gave me a refund. She revived my trust in this company. Unfortunately I have already arranged lessons with the instructor personally otherwise I'd be happy to stay with ottimo now having a direct number and email for to contact if I had any troubles. Changed to 3 stars as the issue has been resolved.

I have paid a fee that they asked to me…

I have paid a fee that they asked to me to pay to find an instructor and they have scammed me. I have tried multiple times to contact them via a mobile number they provided in emails and I have tried sending emails asking for my refund for a services. Not provided at all. They have never contacted me, ever to advise. When the instructor will be available. My practical exam is now 1 week behind since January contacted them and no replies at all. This is Scam never use this service again

Sorry to hear that you are annoyed about the efficiency of our service. However, you paid 3 weeks ago. In all of our communications, we aim to get people booked in within 3-4 weeks to manage expectations. In some instances, it may take slightly longer due to learner availability not matching with our instructors, but in most instances we can get people booked in a lot faster. There are still huge learner backlogs all over the country due to 2 years worth of disruptions and lockdowns hence why in some areas the service we provide cannot be as instantaneous as we would like. This is, annoyingly, out of our control.

I can appreciate that your test is on the March 9th, but we cannot control instructor availability to get you started with lessons at the drop of a hat, I’m afraid. Furthermore, we advise all learners, as would every single instructor in the country, to have their instructor organised and in place before arranging a test. That way issues like this do not arise due to such little time to get the learner sorted.

As for the response to your email, you emailed us at 9pm last night and this review doesn’t really seem entirely fair. We are a company with a small team working in a very disrupted industry from the backlashes of COVID. A bit of patience and understanding would have been appreciated. Additionally, you messaged one of our team on a Saturday. I can appreciate you would like updates - which we have been sending you regularly, incidentally, but to message a personal work number on the weekend won’t warrant a rapid response. I hope you can understand. Our support email, however, is always on hand and we would have responded to you a lot faster - just like we would have replied to your email from last night this morning.

Your refund will be processed immediately.
Sorry again for any confusion.

scammed, payed a deposit and not refunded when requested.

I had payed a £75 deposit that was stated to be refundable, and a further £330 that was also supposedly refundable. I had been told an instructor would contact me in the next 48 hours, that did not happen instead I was put on a "priority list" so I requested a refund and have had no confirmation of my money being returned, instead they have told me that they have matched me with an instructor even though have specially asked for a refund. Not a good website either, slow communication with customer services, and lots of irrelevant information in delivered messages. I would certainly not recommend this site to anyone.

I fully understand your frustration and if you would have contacted our customer support team, we would have sorted all these issues and refunded you right away.

As stated, we had matched you to an instructor and then, unfortunately, said instructors’ availability could no longer allow you to start with them. Annoying, however, this is out of our control - the industry is still very tight on availability due to COVID and the ⅔ year backlog of learners. We then worked on getting you rematched ASAP on our priority list - admittedly it is a bad user experience for money to be held during this period but we have learnt our lesson on this one. We now refund the remaining course amount during this waiting period. Sorry again about this.

As I mentioned earlier, though, you have not once flagged this as an issue with our team. Nor have you got in contact with our team to get a refund. You had raised an issue with the payment provider you have used so, naturally, the process takes a bit longer to get a refund as there is a back-and-forth between ourselves and the payment provider to figure out what has happened. Had you emailed or texted us on the number we had been texting you on, we would have issued a refund right away.

As for the website, thank you for the feedback. We are aware of thew issues and we are currently in the process of having a big overhaul and update.

I have booked my lessons on 12th…

Edited: It is 14th February 2023 today and you still cannot find an instructor for me. I have checked, and you are advertising that you have instructors for automatic transmission in my area. Why are you keep lying to me each time I contact you. Since December 2022 you are telling me that I am on a top of your priority list. I book a course in September 2022 and waiting 5 months now for the instructor. In your reply from December 2022 you ensured that you will return my deposit and you have not done? Are you a scammer company? I will wait one more month and then will take the further legal steps.

I can only apologise for the delays in getting you started with your lessons. We do aim to get our learners booked in within 2-4 weeks, and indeed, in most cases we are able to get our learners matched and booked within a matter of days. Annoyingly. though, there are some areas where it is harder to get people booked in. As you can imagine, there are still backlogs and instructor shortages due to COVID and the lockdowns, which does make things tricky for us in some areas.

The average waiting time at the moment to get started with an instructor is around 3-4 months, but we always strive to massively reduce the waiting times for our learners. Unfortunately, in this case we were unable to deliver and I would like to apologise to you again.

I will refund the money you have paid but we will still work on getting you booked in free of charge.

In over two months they only found 1…

In over two months they only found 1 instructor who was only available 1 day of the week at 7am. When I asked if they maybe had anyone else available, they promised to get back to me ASAP, then 2 weeks later told me the same instructor would be in touch. He was not.

So I got a call and they told me that an instructor will be in touch in one or two days and it’s been more than that already and not even a text back? If I don’t get an instructor soon I will be very let down after I got told I will be on the road very soon

Be very carefull

Signed (and paid a total of 449 pounds for my daughters lessons by Oct 18. To date (Nov 9) she has not had a lesson. The instructor they connected with us claims he hasn't been paid so will not accept the bookings.
Is this a scam? You can't phone the company to find out what's going on....which suggests they do not wish to be chased for the return of my money.

Expecting too much. And gravely disappointed.

Where do I start off with this? Response is poor, and I am showing concerns of whether payment has gone through to them.

It has been two weeks since I paid for a block of 10 hours of lessons, and my patience is now being tested to the limit.

I spent around £400, including booking fee, and that I have yet to be in contact with an instructor, who is supposed to be flexible with any schedules in hand.

The phone number that came in touch was this (+44 7451 288967)

The area I have given is provided to them, so that they can work with what’s best, professionally, not just for them, but for me also.

Overall, I am completely unsatisfied with how this is turned out. I felt betrayed by the service provided.

To add insults to injury, they have social media accounts dedicated to the business itself, where it looks friendly and welcoming, but in reality, this is nothing compared.

I am now pursuing for a refund, hoping that they’re going to respond immediately, unlike what they have done (from my experience, I had to write to them via. email twice, and they have yet to respond).

I do not wish for my patience to be tested, as I am currently hunting for *available* driving lessons. Thankfully I have not booked for a driving test, so not to cause an inconvenience for me at this moment.

I am going to look the other way, as I abosulutely not going to recommend this driving school.

Steer away.

We had matched you with an instructor within 1 week, and our typical window is 48 hours for our learners to be contacted after full payment has been made, so things were running very nicely up until you had not been contacted, so this is a very poor reflection of our company. Again, I am really sorry for what has happened to you.

I wanted to book in lessons for my…

I wanted to book in lessons for my daughters 17th birthday. The process was really easy and was very quick. The otimo team was very understanding that my daughter still hadn't received her provisional license yet as it got delayed. This was no issue as they said they could get us booked in and hold off until we received the provisional. Which they did and within 3 days or receiving it my daughter started her lessons. Amazing customer service.
