Extremely Unprofessional and Scam-Like Behavior

This experience has been deeply disappointing and feels like a scam.

An employee of WebCrowdSolutions, Sambit, contacted me multiple times outside the scope of our project, asking for personal financial help. He claimed his mother had passed away and begged me for money, while explicitly telling me not to inform the rest of the team. What started as a “small favor” quickly turned into repeated requests for money. This is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional.

After I refused to send money outside the project, the situation escalated. The project was suddenly stopped, yet I was still being pressured to pay. This behavior felt like extortion, not a legitimate business practice.

On top of this, the actual work delivered was poor and unresolved:

The main banner layout was changed and made excessively large

English text appeared in the Dutch version of the website

Product images were moved from the main image to the second image, which I had to manually fix for all products

New homepage images were visually unappealing and did not match my requirements

Despite promises that these issues would be resolved, they were not. I asked to terminate the collaboration and requested a simple restoration of the backup to return the webshop to its original state. I did not ask for a refund of the down payment — only a proper handover.

Communication has been unreliable since then. Calls were promised but never happened, and I am still waiting for the backup to be restored.

Because of the misleading behavior, lack of professionalism, and failure to resolve issues, I have completely lost trust in this company. I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious before engaging with WebCrowdSolutions.
