A little tip that can help here is to get Bob nice and wet, apply a bit more pressure, and use firm circular motions. This usually helps you get the most out of those final bits of the bar before needing to swap it out.

In terms of longevity, our community typically tells us that Bob bars last around 10 to 15 washes, but this can vary depending on how long you wash for and how much product is being used. We recently moved to a UK supplier in Scotland, with a focus on creating bars that are more moisturising and lather rich, but that can sometimes mean they wear down a little quicker depending on usage.

On the lather side, Bob can take a little getting used to as it’s a completely new way to wash. A quick, firm circular motion with the applicator usually helps build the lather up properly before spreading. We’ve also recently upgraded the formula to improve both lather and scent strength, so it should feel more noticeable than earlier versions.

When it comes to pricing, we completely understand your point. We’re not the cheapest on the market as we focus on high quality ingredients and UK manufacturing, but we are actively working on ways to improve value. Our bundles are one of the ways we try to make things more cost effective over time.

It sounds like the bar may be catching slightly as it moves through the applicator, which definitely is not what we want for you. Bob can take a little getting used to as it’s a completely new way to wash, but you shouldn’t be needing to take it apart mid shower.

A quick tip that can help is making sure the bar and applicator are both properly wet before use, as this helps everything glide a bit more smoothly. A firm circular motion can also help get things moving and build a better lather. That said, what you’re describing sounds like something we’d really like to take a closer look at.

Our community tells us that Bob bars last between 10 and 15 washes, but we are constantly reviewing this. We recently moved to a UK supplier based in Scotland. The new bars have been designed to be highly lathering and highly moisturising. When these two things are combined, and depending on how long you wash for, bars can go down faster.

As you mentioned in your review, we recently introduced Bob bundles to tackle that issue. Our Bob bundle offers more refills at a discounted cost, ensuring that you have enough bars to last every month, while still saving some money in the process. With that said, we’re not the cheapest on the market, but we pride ourselves on using the cleanest and best ingredients, and manufacturing in Scotland, both of which come at a premium.

We are always trying to reduce the price where we can, but as a new start-up, it takes time to build order volume and achieve economies of scale.

Bob can take a little getting used to, as it’s a completely new way to wash. For anyone struggling with lather, a small tweak in technique usually does the trick. A quick, firm circular motion with the applicator builds the lather up properly, then you can spread it from there.

Regarding the applicator being touched on your skin. We suspect that this is because not enough lather is being generated for it to smoothly glide over your skin.

Bob can take a little getting used to, and getting the most out of it usually comes down to a combination of using the + button to bring more soap through, along with applying a bit more pressure and using firm circular motions to build up a proper lather. Once that clicks, it should feel a lot less like plastic and a lot more like a proper wash.

On the lather side, you’re absolutely right that hard water can make things a bit more tricky. Bob can take a little getting used to, and a firm circular motion with a bit more pressure, along with using the + button, usually helps build things up. That said, it shouldn’t feel like hard work or uncomfortable, so we hear you on that.

In terms of the bar lasting, our community typically gets around 10 to 15 washes per bar, but this can vary depending on usage and conditions like water type. If you’re getting significantly less than that, it does sound like you’re having to work the bar harder than expected, which links back to your lather point.

For the last bit of the bar, it can still be used, it just needs a bit more pressure and circular motion to get the most out of it.

Regarding the mount, you’re spot on, it works best on smooth, glass-like surfaces, and we know that’s not ideal for everyone. We’re currently working on improved solutions that will stick to a wider range of surfaces.

Ultimately, we are gutted to receive a 3 star review, especially as you really wanted to like Bob, but we completely understand your decision based on your experience.

Using the + button to release a bit more soap and applying a bit more pressure while scrubbing in circular motions usually helps build up a much better lather.

That said, if using it in your hand is what works best for you, that’s absolutely fine too, whatever gets you the best result.

If you’re finding a bar is lasting around a week with daily showers, you may well be on the higher-usage end of the spectrum (what we sometimes call the “super washer” category). That would naturally bring the usage count down compared to the average.
