HI Weldrick Ltd is a family-owned company registered in England and based in Doncaster, Yorkshire- we have had an internet presence since 1998. We fully pay UK taxes and we do not divulge your personal data to any third parties. We have a pharmacy tradition dating back to the 1930s when our late founders' grandmother opened her first pharmacy in Doncaster Town Centre. Remaining true to his vision our business remains 100% family-owned. With a commitment to community healthcare and staff training we have steadily grown to 59 pharmacies in the South Yorkshire area. We employ over 600 formally trained staff among who are more than 80 pharmacists, including 9 clinical pharmacists. While our aim is not to make any mistakes we recognise they will happen occasionally and if they do we commit to communicating with our customers, do our best to put the problem right, identify the cause of the error and learn from it.

Weldricks pharmacy, Royston, not a good place to be

Weldricks pharmacy, Royston, Barnsley.
Avoid to save yourself some serious heart ache where you prescription is concerned.
The women in here think they have a God given right to talk to you like dirt and command respect (it must go with the job title in this establishment).
There is no way they are ever wrong, they show no respect to the elderly in any way, you have a problem then thats what it is, you're problem.
If you correct them in any way, they command an apology,
Talking down to people is rife, it can get beyond ridiculous with what they get away with,
They take pride in their belittling attitude, it can be Demeaning at best when they get things wrong, They never get things wrong
I moved here from a pharmacy very similar to these. I have to get the wife to deal with these ladies, men aren't made to feel welcome,
If you need more than 2 items, then you'll have to sing for them, and be sure you'll have to wait for them
I'll leave this here, Nothing will get done, and I've had to endure this for more than 12 months
Today went above and beyond stupid. And they get paid for this

A absolute life saver

The pharmacist at the sandringham rd branch Doncaster was very helpful and considerate about my blood pressure test she immediately contacted my GP
To see me could not get appointment for 3 weeks advised me to go straight to A&E immediately which I did as my blood pressure was so high if it was not for this kind and considerate lady I would have been very ill I was checked immediately blood tests taken and tested immediately I am now on tablets now for my high blood pressure she basically stopped me from being very ill I can’t thank her and her great staff for there help again thank you so much !!!

Good Complaint Handling

Thank you for the reply below Sarah and for your attention to this issue over the last 24 hours which has given me more confidence to use your services again. Most grateful

Whilst the customer service is attentive at this online Pharmacy the lead times for delivery are not good and I find myself having to consider looking elsewhere for supplies from a provider who can turnaround a prescription faster. This provider takes 3-5 days to dispense and then relies on Royal Mail which can take days too. A recent order took 12 days to receive.

I am sorry to learn from your review that you feel your delivery is taking longer to reach you than you thought it would.

I have reviewed your order, which was received Saturday 23rd August at 08:53am. As the item ordered is a controlled drug it is a legal requirement that we receive the original prescription through the post before we can start to process an order. I can see that we received the prescription from you on Wednesday 27th August so your order then went into our dispensary. I can then see your order was dispatched on Tuesday 2nd September at 10.45am.

While most of our orders are delivered to our customers within a few days, to avoid setting up unrealistic expectations and to allow for occasional foreseeable delays we do clearly state on our website before our customer commits to ordering that it can take from 3-5 working days for dispatch of customer orders and from 1-3 working days for the order to be delivered by our delivery partners, this is a maximum of 8 working days. While I understand your disappointment, we are still on track to deliver your order within the time frame we state on our website.

With reference to your comment that we rely on Royal mail for deliveries, we offer a variety of delivery choices at check out to suit all our different customer expectations for speed of delivery and cost. One of the options we offer is a DPD service with which they commit to deliver the day after dispatch.

Excellent service as usual

Although I ordered during a Bank Holiday weekend my sizeable parcel arrived 4 days later. Ive dealt with Weldricks for a few years and they give excellent service, a wide range of products and are very competitive on price.

Easy to shop for the whole family

Easy to shop for the whole family, prices are reasonable. Always go there for my medicines, hassle-free delivery to my door via royal mail or DPD and free delivery over a minimum spend. No queuing or endless questioning like they do in Boots.

Disappointing dispatch time

Ordered a hydrocortisone cream as the price was very competitive and delivery was via Royal Mail 48 hours. I needed the cream for a persistent insect bite as the usual anti itch creams weren't working.

The website was easy to navigate so I completed the questions posed and paid for the product.

Disappointed to receive an email 30 hours later informing me my order had just been dispatched. Maybe I was wrong to assume dispatch of pharmacy items would be prompt but I go away in 2 days and it seems unlikely the cream will arrive in time.

Next time I will call my GP and get a script sent to my local pharmacy for collection

I have traced your first order with us, which was received Tuesday 26th August at 11:45 am and I can see it was dispatched on Wednesday 27th August at 4:11 p.m. It was then delivered to you on Friday 29th August using the tracked 48 hour Royal Mail service you selected at checkout. Disgusting price hike

Back in May I order 30 tables Ursodeoxycholic Acid Tablet 150mg for our dog with a prescription cost per tablet 80p, in June I did the same order and I was charged 1.02p per tablet, have just had my latest order the tablet cost: £1.82 per tablet. These tablets have more than doubled in three months. Have found I can get the same tablet from Pet Drugs Online 75p per tablet. I read another review somewhere pointing me towards Pet Drugs online so I emailed them for a price, 75p per tablet. Never Again

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review, I am the manager responsible for our website and I have noted your comment regarding Ursodeoxycholic Acid 150mg, as a result of which I had our Head of Buying investigate and outline our pricing strategy to me. I am satisfied from my buyers explanation that based on the buying prices available to us, the retail price of £0.75 per tablet you mention is well below the cost price that we have been able to obtain this item. I wasn't able to find the product on the website you mentioned, but I fully understand why you would decide to take them up on that price.

I have also taken the opportunity to check our pricing of this item against a range of our online competitors and can see that we are currently retailing this product cheaper than HyperDrug, Vets4u and Numark Pharmacy. This reflects the permanent objective of our buying team which is to work tirelessly with our suppliers to obtain stock at the lowest cost possible and allow me to pass those savings on to our customers. I fully understand the need for all of our customers to obtain the best value for money that they possibly can but I also have to retail at a level that covers our operating costs and allows for re-investment in staff training, modernisation of equipment and all the other costs of operating a business and selling at below cost price of goods would not allow for that.

In conclusion, I am sorry that your opinion of us is that we are over-priced and while I wish to retain your custom I also fully respect your right to compare prices elsewhere and patronise one of our many competitors whose offer you feel works better for you. If in future you have concerns about our pricing if you email or call into my customer services team, we would be happy to investigate for you and explain our pricing policy on any item,

Great Pharmacy Experience

Have used Weldricks for some time now and find them excellent. Items dispatched speedily, and the packaging is very secure. All round great great service and value for money. Will happily keep using Weldricks.

Cancelled my order with no communication whatsoever. Luckily I paid using PayPal and PayPal emailed me to say there had been a refund or I'd still be waiting now.

I am really sorry that you are so unhappy with us and I apologise to you unreservedly that our communication with you has not been to an acceptable standard. I have discussed this with my colleagues and they agree we could and should have done much better and they understand fully where our communications were not as good as they could have been and how to make sure that does not happen again in the future. We do not enjoy having to make decisions on cancelling orders for our customers but our Pharmacy technician training involves completing both a knowledge and a competency-based qualification by undertaking GPhC accredited courses or GPhC recognised qualifications. The purpose of a Technicians checks is to assist in the safe and effective use of medicines for effective self-medication of self-limiting ailments and that a medicine sale complies with its product license, with The Medicines Act and with our regulators professional edicts. Medicines are not normal items of commerce so we are not trying to maximise potential sales but to care for the health of our patients. If a sale is not considered suitable and to be in accordance with the product license for the item our staff are all trained to sympathetically give the reasons for this and he/she might also refer our customer or patient to another healthcare professional where appropriate. I can only apologise that this information wasn't communicated to you when the order was cancelled and refunded.

As a local, family owned business that has been trading for almost 100 years all of our processes are put in place with the customer in mind and the long term best interests of our family business in mind. We absolutely never set out to disappoint our customers and I will be re-iterating this to my colleagues and speaking with them about how we can avoid this ever happening again in the future. I will also arrange for one of my customer service team to contact you and check you are satisfied with my explanation and to find if there is anything else I can do for you as I really would wish to retain you as a valued customer and try to persuade you to give us another chance,

Oh dear...

According to statement on the Weldricks website: "Our on-line customer service team are available to give professional healthcare advice in a confidential environment either by email or telephone”.

Great. So I thought I'd ask them about the difference between in the ingredients in two OTC, non-prescription, non-medicated products.

The reply came back "we spoke to our Pharmacy Technician, here is a link to the ingredients list, go speak to your local pharmacy or GP".

Well, gee. Thanks guys ... NOT !

Up until now I was a loyal Weldricks customer. But if they are not willing to answer basic questions about non-medicated non-prescription products then god help you if you have a query or concern about something medicated or prescription.

Don't waste your time, go to your local pharmacy instead. That's where Weldricks will send you anyway ....
