Five stars for our China tour with Wendy Wu Tours. My wife and I started in Shanghai right as Typhoon Dolphin hit — awful timing, the airport even shut down at one point — but our guide Addison turned it around completely. Calm, on top of everything, and genuinely made the trip. The local guides along the way were great too.
From there we saw the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an (a definite highlight), then took the bullet train to Beijing for more sightseeing. Food was decent throughout. Honestly, Addison is the reason this gets five stars — even bad weather couldn't dent how good this tour was.
Highly recommend, especially if Addison's your guide.
China by land Japan by sea
This tour is full on but amazing, would recommend Wendy Wu. Overall we had an amazing time, we had itinerary change due to Typhoon Dolphins which was nobody’s fault Wendy Wu dealt with the problem brilliantly and our international Guide Louis was amazing .
Addison is a fantastic tour guide, as a single mum with a 16 year old daughter I felt very safe in Addison's care.
He is very knowledgeable and his English and sense of humour is excellent.
There was a very difficult single female traveller who just wanted to disrupt the tour for all. Addison managed this situation with professionalism and discretion.
Addison also created a video and took group photos which just added to the wonderful experience.
Thanks again Addison

We travelled on the Wonders of China tour in June 2026 and found the entire experience exceptional. The itinerary was extensive, well organised, and thoughtfully paced. Despite covering many major sights, including the Great Wall and the Forbidden City, we avoided the usual crowds thanks to smart scheduling, which made every visit far more enjoyable. Although the tour was fast‑paced, we loved every moment.
Throughout the trip, we were accompanied by our national guide, Jason Gao, and supported by local guides Tina, Yvonne, and Troy. All were knowledgeable and helpful, but Jason truly stood out. He didn’t just manage the logistics; he genuinely cared about the people on the tour. When my wife injured her knee, Jason helped me get the right medication and made sure she could still participate in the excursions without missing out. His kindness and attention made a real difference to our experience.
Thank you, Wendy Wu, for delivering a trip of a lifetime. We look forward to travelling with you again.
And a special thank you to Jason - your dedication and care were outstanding, and we hope Wendy Wu recognises just how exceptional you are at your job.

Myself and my twin brother booked our first holiday abroad with Wendy Wu on their Majestic Yangtze tour of China and could not fault it one bit. We would highly recommend anyone to book with Wendy Wu and choose this tour because the service and what was included for the price, offered real value for money and was absolutely worth it.
We booked this first trip abroad as a gift to ourselves for graduating university before heading into the real world of work, and never did we expect it to be so great, with the tour planned to the letter including hotel transfers, help at check‑in desks, hotels, excursion tours and timings all taken into account, including the best time of day to attend excursions. Our wonderful guide Alison was there every step of the way both in person and always available by call or text to deal with questions and provide support, including phoning our transfers on arrival in Shanghai and departure from Beijing to ensure we had been picked up at the airport on arrival and checked in for our flight on departure showcasing there 5 star service from beginning to end.
Our tour took us from Shanghai to our Victoria Jenna Yangtze River Cruise and then on to Chengdu, Xi’an and Beijing, with all hotels immaculate, four star and offering high‑class service.
We were lucky to have been accompanied along the way by brilliant local guides including Grace, Cherry, Ivy and Jack who brought immersive local knowledge, humour and constant support in each city.
The River Cruise including an optional add on tour to the Wuling Mountain Rift and our visit to Xi’an with the Terracotta Warriors and add on Night tour were real highlights for us both. We thoroughly enjoyed trying all types of Chinese cuisine, feeling fully immersed in the local dishes offered in each region we visited, with Peking duck on our final night providing a wonderful experience and perfect closure to the tour.
We met so many wonderful people in our group of just over twenty, made new friends and learned a lot, and thanks to Alison we truly became one family looking out for and learning from one another, as she stopped at nothing to make sure we only remember the good parts of our China tour, and I can assure you there was not one negative to report.
Overall, we would both recommend Wendy Wu for any tour as they were faultless throughout, with everything taken into account and organised to the highest standards, meaning you have no worries at all for the price. The optional tours were a great addition if you want to squeeze in as much as possible during your two‑week adventure. We would both like to thank Alison personally again for her kindness and support in making this the best first holiday we could have asked for, and also to our local guides for bringing the history and tours to life with amazing humour, and top class local knowledge. Additionally to the wider Wendy Wu team who organise everything behind the scenes and ensure it all runs smoothly your truly deliver a great experience for your travellers.
Thank you for a wonderful experience and a first trip abroad that will be hard to top, and we both look forward to saving up for a future Wendy Wu tour, possibly in India, and will definitely return to China with Wendy Wu again.

Having travelled with Wendy Wu Tours on many occasions, I knew that I would not be disappointed with the tour of Indonesia. It met all my expectations with a very varied itinerary and the priviledge to get up close with Komodo Dragons. The early start to see the sunrise over the Mt. Bromo and beyond was spectacular. The out-worldly scene which appeared at sunrise was like a moonscape. It was a great tour of the island of Java and thoroughly recommended.

We had a great guide for the whole trip and very good local guides as we moved around. Plenty of room on the coaches, very good hotels and the various food offerings were all good and plentiful. We saw all the sights and the guide adjusted the timings etc to ensure we did very little queing. Highly recommend the trip and if you are lucky enough to get George it's a great bonus.

We had the two most amazing guides for our tour of China and Japan. George was the guide for China and he was so welcoming and knowledgeable and also shared some of his own personal experiences with us. He made the trip really interesting and very enjoyable. Nothing was any trouble and he ran a very trouble free tour.
Hiroshi our guide in Japan was equally as good and we had a lot of laughs with him also. Once again he was very welcoming and was very keen for us to experience his Japan. He also bought us some of his favourite childhood treats for us to try. We could not have asked for two better people to show us their country. The group of people we travelled with were also amazing and we shared a lot of fun together. The only down side of the tour is that we would have liked a little more free time to wander the streets at our own pace. We loved the Cruises on the Li and also at Shanghai. Well done Wendy Wu and your team. Excellent.

Just returned from Wendy Wu Wonders of Indonesia Tour with a pre tour extension to Singapore and an added tour extension in Bali post tour which overall was absolutely amazing. The entire holiday from start to finish was well planned and the sights were both amazing and diverse. Indonesia has a fascinating blend of old traditions and the warmth of the local people was infectious. Tour guide for the main tour (Halim) and Bali extension (Dewan) were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to ensure all your needs and aspirations were catered for.

The Best of Mongolia was a spectacular experience - in great part thanks to our very knowledgeable and helpful Wendy Wu guide, Zaya. I have come away with an understanding of Mongolian culture and history that enhanced the whole experience, and hundreds of photos of the spectacular landscapes.
I have no hesitation in recommending this tour and Wendy Wu.

What can I say! The whole experience ran like a well-oiled machine from booking the tour to the point we got on the aircraft to go home. And our National guide, George Pu, I can only describe as another "Gem of China." He was informative, funny, accommodating in every way possible and his knowledge of China seemed limitless. Our tour group was brought together instantly by George, suddenly a bunch of folk from Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Tasmania, Scotland and England, who had never met each other before, were chatting, laughing and enjoying themselves like a bunch of long-lost friends, due to good part to George's efforts. We are all still talking on social media. We made memories with these people that will stay with us for the rest of our lives. I have been all over the world with my work, but this tour was exceptional. It was varied, adaptable to changing local situations, never stressed allowing us to leave feeling totally fulfilled, and knowing a lot about the country, its people, the Chinese culture and customs, right down to the dynamics within a typical Chinese family. In summary, In our experience, Wendy Wu tours is company that puts the needs of the customer at the top of its list. It is dynamic, responsive and supremely equipped to deal with any situation and I would highly recommend them to anybody. George Pu, our National Guide was just extraordinary. He deserves a medal, and we will never forget him. Thank you all at Wendy Wu tours for an unforgettable experience!

The Grand Tour of China lived up to its name and more. 25 nights filled with amazing experiences after another. Gave us a great insight into China, the culture, people, food and grand sights. Visited many Chinese highlights. Experienced several modes of transport. China is the most progressive country we have visited.
We just packed and brought our passports - everything else was well organised and planned for us. Had great national and local guides throughout.
We had a mixed group of 25 people - I’d say slightly more than a level one - a few in the group did struggle to keep up.
Maybe a few 1/2 days over the weeks would balance this - and those who want to utilise the time to explore more locally can - and others recharge the batteries.
I would have liked a bit more free time to explore areas by ourselves - especially in market areas - and even to eat something different than local food 3 times a day, everyday.

My Husband & I travelled to China for my 50th Birthday celebration and it did not disappoint.
We were met with our fabulous guide Sophie who made this trip just perfect, Sophie was very informative, nothing was any trouble whatsoever. Our favourite place was Xi'An and without a doubt the Great Wall was our highlight.

I have to say that the tour was amazing the hotels were a great choice, it was fantastic meeting new like minded people that I can say I will have friends for life. travelling to different cities was so much fun, as we went on a bullet train, and a flight. we saw so many highlights like: the Terracotta Army, the great wall of China, summer palace, Tianmen square and so much more than this, our tour guides were the ones that make this trip very special, with out them this would just be a tour, they brought everything to life for us telling us not only about the history of the destination we was visiting but their one personal family history which was so interesting and very different to our own history. the food was another highlight of this trip and each dish is explained by our tour guide Sophie.
Sophie also helped every step of the way and nothing was to much trouble, even when dealing with difficult people she always was polite and positive.
I actually feel that Sophie is my friend and I have missed her since returning home, she helped me every step of the way even taught us all how to speak Chinese!!! the whole group agreed that the trip was made so special by Sophie and the other tour guides!
I cant wait to book my next Wendy Wu, What a Fantastic company wort every penny that spent.

I have just returned from the Gems of China tour, the trip exceeded all my expectations and more, i cannot recommend WW enough, the pre trip communication, hotels, food, guides and everything about the tour was excellent. Early starts and long days were well worth it! We had George Pu as our national guide and if you get him you will have the best time, he is so informative about all the sites we visited and nothing is too much trouble.
