Me and my family cannot express enough gratitude for the kindness and compassion shown by Matt and Maria at West and Co Funeral Directors, Harold hill. We truly could not have chosen a more perfect team to care for our darling Nanny Rita.

From the moment they came to take Nanny, they showed such understanding. My mum was not ready to let her go, and they gave her the time and space to sit with her for a while longer, waiting patiently and with such grace.

When we visited Nanny in the chapel of rest, we were met with a calm and deeply compassionate atmosphere. They had thoughtfully displayed a photo we provided in a frame, which made it feel so much more personal and comforting to see our lovely Nan.

Nanny looked absolutely beautiful and at peace. You would never have believed she had been unwell. She looked simply beautiful and, most importantly, she looked like herself.

Matt and Maria supported us constantly throughout this difficult time and made us feel completely at home. They welcomed us whenever we wanted to come and sit with Nanny. It felt as though we had moved in, yet we were always made to feel welcome. During this time, it was the only place my mum truly felt at peace.

On the day of the funeral, everything was carried out with the utmost respect, from leaving the chapel of rest to arriving home, and with Matt walking Nanny along her road. The service, the music, and the photographs were all truly beautiful. Thank you also to Reverend Richard Power for delivering such a heartfelt service for our Nan.

The whole process from planning the day with Liam to the wonderful service given by Jay and lovely service cards by Leanne Read was very special, and Lee with the other gentlemen on the day, everybody said what a lovely send off my darling Paul had, a heartfelt thankyou to you all from Deborah Steve and Family x

Everyone at west n Coe (Dagenham east) were very kind and considerate from our very first contact regarding ceremony for my father, nothing was too much trouble and they took the time to explain everything to my elderly grieving mother, unfortunately 4 days after dads funeral we lost mum and west n Coe were amazing they even kept dads ashes on their premises so they could come home together and we didn’t have the heartbreak of collecting while coming to terms with losing mum they arranged for the same gent Gary to conduct the ceremony and he made it even more personal as he had met mum a month before
There was little things they did which were a lovely touch like a folder to hold all the cards from flowers and returned jewellery was placed in little velvet bag to keep safe
Thank you to everyone there for making a horrible time that little bit easier

On behalf of my mum-in-law, husband and daughter, I would like to give a big thank you to Lauri Read at West & Co. who prepared the Order of Service for my father-in-law who passed recently. She made every step online so easy to follow and the result was absolutely what we asked for. I would highly recommend Lauri and the team at West & Coe Head Office in Dagenham. Thank you so much.

I rang west and Coe yesterday to see if they had my dad was at their branch as I’m estranged from my family. The lady at martins corner Dagenham Essex said due to data protection she can’t tell me anything and put the phone down on me. I then called their main office where I spoke to a manager. He pretty much repeated what his colleague said. I agreed I understood the data protection stuff but even if I was given a time they was leaving for the funeral so I could have flowers sent. When I got off the phone my friend who was listening in said not once did he said sorry for your loss and apologised. Just bad service in just the most awful time.

All the team at Kirby Cross have been nothing but kind, understanding, helpful and professional.
Attention to detail was important and made a difficult time go smoothly.

Really great service from start to finish from West & Coe ( Harold Hill). The funeral director Matt was an absolute star. Matt was incredibly kind, professional and supportive. He arranged to collect my Dad out of hours from a care home, then supported the family from then on. He put me in touch with a great florist, arranged a celebrant and helped with the order of service booklet. Nothing was too much trouble for him. On the day of the funeral, West & Coe were professional and respectful and Matt dealt with all the little things I had forgotten. Matt even collected my Dads ashes a few days later for me. If you want a personal touch from a really well run funeral directors, I couldn't recommend West & Coe more

From the start seeing Heather set our minds at rest and did all she could to meet our budget and what we would like for our dad.
Thank you Heather, we think you’re a star.
Extra thanks to Laurie that produced beautiful orders of service, all totally personalised- we are very grateful to have these to take away. Everyone commented on how lovely they are.
To the wonderful and professional staff who took us to say goodbye to Fred and treated everyone with compassion and empathy - thank you.
And to Gary the celebrant, you captured the essence of Fred and gave him a perfect send off.

Good evening, Jeremy.

I just wanted to express my thanks and gratitude from me and also on behalf of my Mum.
I am sure you are aware that your business has supported me in the last 5 weeks in helping with the Funeral arrangements of my Dad Thomas Stanley Ford. Without going into any detail at the time of need I was in a very challenging situation without the loss of my much loved, Dad and feel it only right to send this. I am sure you understand that when your profession is supporting clients at the time of need and you are then at need yourself, it is then very hard to imagine anybody conducting or making the necessary arrangements other than yourself.
This sadly was the position I found myself in on 12th December 2024.
Following various conversations that I had with past colleagues and recalling brief meetings with you and a telephone conversation I had with you of recent where I had supplied a couple of bearing staff to you, whilst in post at Great Dunmow I called your Funeral Home in Kirby Cross/Frinton and spoke to Andy.
Within ten minutes of talking to him I felt confident that I had made the right call.
You have no idea how relieved I was. From that point on I as an individual, my mum and family were cared for and looked after. Dave Pilkington came to my mums in Little Clacton and with him My Dads special day was arranged. There was a connection to Dave, as my Dad was employed Parks Constabulary for the London Borough of Newham and was the key holder to East Ham Mortuary for many years and Dave believed that he had met my Dad on many occasions, which was lovely and through every stage of his involvement he has been so supportive, kind and caring but without me going on as I am sure you are aware of his value.
Barry has looked after my Mum and I at every encounter again faultless. Also, I want to thank all that had been part of Embalming, dressing and preparation for viewing. I have no other words than, my dad looked beautiful every day that we saw him. Finally, I did conduct his funeral last Thursday 9th January supported by Dave, Andy, Dave and Ashleigh (sorry I think it was Ashleigh!!!) I can’t express my thanks enough. It was perfect….. They made a really emotional and difficult day for me so much easier. They gave me strength and helped me get my head up walk tall and if my Dad was looking on I know he would have been so proud. So please would you share my compliments with those that have supported us and please feel free to use my email in your testimonials should you wish.

Losing my darling wife shattered my world and our families hearts to peices, you really don't know which way to turn ! Fortunately we went to West & Co(Dagenham East),they listened to our request and nothing was too much,the level of care & attention was outstanding. The Minister Nigel Catchpole spoke so beautifully ,as if he had known my wife & family personally! I'm not sure if you can call a funeral Special, but that's what it was,a Special Celebration of my Darling Wife's Life! I cannot thank Everyone from West & Co enough!

Matthew at West & Coe (Dagenham East branch) handled my nephew’s funeral plans from start to finish. He went above and beyond to accommodate all of the family from mother, wife, siblings and the children. The recommended minster gave an outstanding service, and nothing was too much for West & Coe. They made such a terrible time for the family more bearable, thank you.

Daughter in law picked them. Upon collecting his body and bringing back to Harwich I phoned to enquire about visiting the deceased.Told no appointment required but if anyone wants to visit on a Saturday there is an extra charge of £35.00 I was disgusted. I sent an email asking how they justify this extra charge no reply so sent again still no reply. Have since up dated our wills and expressed not to use West and Co as clearly all customers are to them are cash cows treated with contempt. No wonder they have 22 funeral shops yet still greedy enough to impose this extra charge. Words fail us as expect once introduced it will keep going up in price. Like their motto we care they do not say about what but clearly it is not the customer just the money.

I have used West and Coe on three occasions now. For my sister
my mother and my daughter. On each occasion my family were treated with the upmost respect care and sincere empathy.
Nothing was too much trouble.

For my daughters funeral Matt,Dennis and the rest of the team left nothing to chance
and the whole day was a beautiful occasion that all of our family and friends will remember.
The service we received went far beyond what the company had to do and everyone
at West and Coe have my families heartfelt thanks and appreciation in treating not only our daughter but everyone else in my family and the many friends that attended the day with such care.

Absolutely appalling "service" from West & Coe funeral directors.
They gave my dads ashes to someone else.
They enquired internally but couldn't tell us where our dad had gone. Investigation showed they had not only not followed their own processes but had broken the law on several counts in not following the executors wishes etc
The owner then emailed me to say he was sorry my family were deceptive towards his company.
To this day they acknowledge they have no idea who they gave my dad to and agree they didn't follow the law or their own guidelines.
DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGEPOLE
Absolutely disgusting.

REPEAT - STEER CLEAR OF WEST AND COE.
