Horrible
The whole shopping experience was horrible. It took a week and half, calls and emails for the company to get back to me saying my order is out of stock. It took multiple calls and emails to find an alternative product to order. Once the store called and told us it’s ready for pick up, we went the next morning. And it took several staff multiple searches to even find the order. We were told several times at the store that they couldn’t find the order and they blame us for change the product and shipping method.
Beyond ridiculousness. I will never shop at west coast kids again.
Do NOT BUY a CRIB from WestCoast kids
We placed an order for a baby crib with Westcoast Kids on Sunday, July 6th. As of Wednesday, September 17th, we still had not received the crib.
On September 6th, more than eight weeks later, we went into the store with our newborn to request a refund. At that point, we were told the crib had arrived at the store, though we were never notified. We then paid for home delivery, but no delivery timeline was provided.
I had to call the store myself on September 17th, only to learn that the crib had finally been sent out that day.
Unfortunately, this entire experience has been extremely frustrating. Communication was beyond poor throughout, and we were left feeling unsupported during a very important purchase for our family.
After speaking with a family friend, we learned they had a nearly identical experience with Westcoast Kids 3 years ago, which suggests this may be a recurring issue, where customers are informed an item is final sale and coming from California.
In hindsight, we would have been better off purchasing a crib from Walmart, for half the price simply for the reliability and peace of mind.
Based on our experience, we cannot recommend purchasing a crib from Westcoast Kids.
Poor Return Experience
I purchased a duplicate Veer Toddler Comfort Seat XL by mistake. As soon as I realized the error, I opened the package and saw I had accidentally ordered two. I contacted both the store and the online team the very next day to return one of them, but was told they would not accept the return or even provide a store credit.
The item was brand new, unused, and in original condition, yet the refusal was absolute. For a children’s store where families often spend thousands over the years, I found this to be extremely poor customer service. Mistakes happen, and reputable retailers typically stand behind their policies with at least some flexibility.
Unfortunately, this experience has made me reconsider shopping at West Coast Kids in the future.
Great experience
I had a great experience shopping online with the staff! They helped me get what I wanted and answered my questions really quick! Really happy with my order, good quality!

DO NOT PURCHASE anything from this…
DO NOT PURCHASE anything from this store - their customer service is abysmal. Instead of fixing a simple shipping error their solution was to charge me additional shipping costs when the courier they hired failed to deliver the product. There is a reason their comment sections are turned off on all their social platforms - they would clearly be flooded with complaints. Avoid at all costs!!

If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. Do not order from here, use Snuggle bugs.. better shipping and customer service by far! Something that took 3 weeks from West coast kids took 2 days with Snuggle bugz.
They Keep Your Money in Gift Cards Without Consent- Beware!
Absolutely unacceptable experience with West Coast Kids. I placed two separate online orders — one paid with a gift card and the other with my credit card. Instead of refunding each payment to its original method, they refunded both orders entirely to the gift card. This is not only misleading but feels like a deliberate tactic to trap customers' money into store credit, whether they want it or not.
I reached out to customer service, hoping this was just a mistake, but was told there’s nothing they can do. No accountability, no flexibility, and no attempt to resolve the issue properly. It’s extremely frustrating and frankly feels like they’re taking advantage of the gift card system to benefit themselves, not the customer.
I will not be shopping here again — and I strongly caution others to read the fine print and be wary of how refunds are handled.
customer service is shit
customer service is shit. I can't wait for a competitor to drive them out of business.
horrible customer service
This is being generous to give them 1 star. Their customer service is appalling. I have been communicating with them since Nov 2024 with regards to an issue with their product. I sent numerous photos and a video, they said there was no issue. It was not safe for my child to use the item due to a malfunction. The manager continued communication with me until mid January whereby she (Savvy) told me that it was outside their warranty period. After 2.5 months! ;This is what I am told. Then was told I would be given a 10% store credit, and I said that doesn’t help me, I couldn’t use the product at all which cost $100 + tax. Then she offered 15%. When asked how to use it, she said I had to purchase something else from WCK. But then I had to purchase something over $99 so I didn’t have to pay for shipping..only to receive 15% off. So it wasn’t a “store credit”. And now as per our latest communication on Mar 26, she re-negged on all previous offers and said now I get nothing.
Absolutely appalling. How can a company that predominantly sells items to expecting parents, have such a short warranty period? People buy things more than 2 months in advance of the arrival of a child. The customer service was absolutely terrible.
The worst customer service ever experienced
I purchased a Tanner Dresser for my daughter. The item was purchased in late November, although her baby was not due until March and my daughter was also moving in March. We had wanted to purchase and then pick up closer to the move date/due date, but was told the item could not be stored in the warehouse (which seems odd since it was currently being ‘stored in the warehouse’}. My real complaint however is in regard to the actual product. I purchased the dresser at a cost of over 1000.00 including taxes. When we took the dresser out of the box a week ago the drawers were very stiff to open and close and not an easy glide as per the floor model. When I called I was told that I could put in a claim with the manufacturer. I spoke with Christina, who confirmed that was the process and she offered to coordinate the claim on my behalf but not prepared to take responsibility to make right the issue with the drawers. This is not an item that had become defective, etc but out of the box it was not as viewed. I have since received an email to say new glides have been ordered and that I can come to pick them up once received by the store. This is completely unacceptable that I am being inconvenienced, due to a product that was not as viewed in store, and then I am expected to install the new glides. I feel that I have been mislead by the product and then the remedy lies with me to correct. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. It appears that Westcoast Kids do not stand behind the products they sell. If Westcoast does not assume responsibility for this issue and arrange for an installer to come to the house and correct the drawers I would like to return the product.
Abysmal service and I would STRONGLY recommend against purchasing anything through this company.
This company and the service they offer is horrible. I have my order cancelled multiple times without any notice or explanation. When I reached out to customer service they did little to help or explain and refused to accompate. I am unable to physically pick up my item and shipping cost was crazy so I arranged a pickup with a family member for the store to refuse to release it even when the confirmation email stated to call to let them know if someone else was doing the pick up. Further they just stated that "our policy changed as of today" even though there was no mention of this. Further the order go auto cancelled when I tried to purchase under the pickup name without any notice. All they said is talk to your bank about potential fraud protection. They refuse to accommodate individuals unable to pick-up themselves and gave no alternative except having the personal picking up be the purchaser thus putting financial burden on others. I will never spend my money with them and I would STRONGLY recommend against purchasing anything through this company.
Bought Stokke Tripp Trapp from…
Bought Stokke Tripp Trapp from WestCoast Kids and received broken item. Called their customer service for exchange or return and they said because I opened the box, they cannot return or exchange. What a garbage customer service. How do I know it is broken without opening the box?
Instead of return or exchange, they just directed us to Stokke warranty service. I don't know how they still survive in this industry with this garbage service.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM ONLINE
I'm from Spain and ordered 2 items on-line for my daughter in Toronto on 3rd Dec 2024 @ 1205. My order was acknowledged and i paid the full amount circa CAD 1800 immediately through ApplePay. This amount was immediately debited against my Euro account and I received an email from WestCoast confirming the purchase. Having not received any info on delivery, I called their Customer service on the 12 Dec 2024. After approx. 30 minutes holding, I was advised that my order had been cancelled saying that the payment "was not captured". I checked with my bank as was advised that the funds had not been returned. I again called WCK to advise them of this and demanded a return or placement of the funds against another order as my daughter is expecting soon. I was told this could not be done and i'll have to reorder and pay, preferably via PayPal as they have had problems with ApplePay from international customers. This I did and with great help from Osborne, put a rush and items delivered on 18 Dec. He also indicated that i would get my 1st funds returned in 3-5 working days. Such was not the case and I called again on the 18th Dec to find out where my funds were. WCK said that they were not "captured" in their account and I'll have to go through my bank. I indicated that this was not my problem as I have proof that I paid WCK and my beef was with them and not me to deal with their payment provider and to not offer this option going forward. Till now, no reply.
Never buy from this company or sign up…
Never buy from this company or sign up on their Baby Registry.
Return policy is horrendous.
UPPAbaby Mesa Max infant car seat/base was discontinued in Canada and recalled in the US as it is unsafe for infants.
We trusted West Coast Kids. to sell the most up to date products and be on top of all recalled and discontinued items. West Coast Kids should be updating the registries and letting their clients know when a product is deemed unsafe and may cause serious harm to your infant. West Coast Kids sold us the base to this recalled car seat and refused to provide a refund. ($250) Can you imagine selling an unsafe, recalled item on a registry then refusing to refund.
Stay away from this uncaring, customer service nightmare of a company. They don't deserve your business.
Not sure how they are still in business…
Not sure how they are still in business where they have a abysmal reviews everywhere… Buyer beware. DO NOT buy from here. Return policy is one of the worst and their customer service is terrible. I’m out money now with no items kept. They make supporting local painful.
Buyers beware !
Buyers beware, this is a shady business!
My daughter purchased a stroller Peg Perego Selfie Mon Amour on the West Coast Kids Website recently during sale. Ten days after purchase, Milah from customer service is sending email to my daughter that the stroller we purchased is not availabe from the supplier, while all these days , even today, they keep advertising it and selling same stroller for more money. I phoned them as it was my gift to the baby and reminded them, they are in breach with the false advertising and bait and switch. Instead of apologizing and finding solution ( while still selling the same stroller - just not for the amount we paid through THEIR website), they double down! ( Princess from customer service), in the next email they promise to refund the stroller, but they would not refund $8 protection shipping fee for stroller and they applied the $8 protection shipping to the $20 swimsut.
This business should not be allowed to operate. Ponzi scheme.
HORRIBLE return policy
HORRIBLE return policy. You have to email them, provide details of items you’re returning, photos of each item including photos of the item sticker, as well as a reason. If you’re returning in store, you need to provide the address. If you’re returning via mail, you’ll need to pay a fee. They do not reply right away, mine took days between each reply. Keep in mind, you only have 14 days to return the items. Also, you can’t just go to the store to return the items. You need to go through the above process. All of these steps for parents who don’t already have a lot of time. Talk about an ABSOLUTE scam of a company that does not care their about clientele’s interest.
You’ve forever lost my business and all my friends and families business. I will ALWAYS tell every person I know to boycott West Coast Kids.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever. They try and hide extra “route protection” charges and don’t show these in your total. You have to toggle route protection off, otherwise they hide that they are adding $10 onto your bill. They also don’t honour their 10% off email code (it will never come through even if you sign up for emails). Horrible customer service. Horrible company. Never shop here.
Please don’t buy anything from this…
Please don’t buy anything from this company! There return policy and customer service is complete robbery.
10/10 Experience!!
My partner and I went into the Vancouver location this afternoon to pick up our crib and test out a couple of different car-seats. As first time parents, navigating through all the different product options can be quite overwhelming. We were extremely fortunate and grateful to have had the help and knowledge of one of the sales associates (Maddy). She was very helpful, patient and informative with all of the education provided to us on the various products. The customer service and overall experience was 10/10. We left feeling confident and excited about our purchases. We also purchased car seat adapters for our stroller which was price matched with amazon, an added bonus. Pricing is reasonable for the quality of products offered. We will definitely be back! Thank you Maddy!! :)
