I was shammed by Widdicomb also

I was shammed by Widdicomb also. I ordered furniture on Feb 3, 2023. On Feb 10th, I emailed Widdicomb for a delivery date. I requested a delivery date several times. Finally, on On Feb 23rd, I stated that I would have my bank investigate the order. Widdicomb replied that same day and said the furniture was already shipped and would be delivered in 2 weeks. Widdicomb sent emails for me to pay for White Glove Service to bring the furniture inside my condo, for $199. I asked if they could bring the furniture to my door and I would take it from there. They agreed. When the delivery guys showed up with the furniture on March 17th, they demanded $199 to bring the furniture inside my condo and said, " You have to pay us since we drove all the way from Brooklyn, NY" At that point I was afraid and felt threatened to let those guys in my house period. I cancelled the order and told them to take the furniture back with them. I followed up with an email regarding the cancelation.
On June 9th, Widdicomb delivered the furniture to my door! They sent me emails congratulating me for purchasing the furniture! I was on vacation when I saw the email with attachments of the box at my door! Since June, I have tried to get Widdicomb to pick up this furniture that I cancelled in March and the delivery guys took the furniture back in March. Now, Widdicomb wants to charge me $565 to sign a Docuform to return the furniture. Widdicomb is saying they never received my cancelation. The cancelation took place when I had the delivery guys return the furniture to Widdicomb. I also followed up the cancelation with an email. I am currently seeking legal advice against Widdicomb.

This company has the worst customer…

This company has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I ordered a mirror in November and the confirmation said I'd have it in 1-2 weeks. I was charged the full amount, even though apparently they didn't have the mirror. After a month, I contacted them, only to find out that not only was the mirror backordered, but it wouldn't ship until May. No mention on the website when I ordered it that it was backordered. In January, I emailed them to cancel my order. No response. I emailed once again a week later and then once in February, all cancelling the order. Early April they email me asking me to set up delivery for the mirror. Ugh! And then-- when I tell them I've cancelled the order, they say that now it's too late to cancel because it's been shipped. INSANE. Well, yeah it's too late now, but it wasn't four months ago when I originally cancelled the order. Now they are trying to cancel the order, minus $500 for the shipping. I'd steer clear of this company.

Slow service and slower shipping

I saw all the bad reviews and decided to order from Widdicomb.com. After experiencing France & Son like issues I got an docusign email from them stating they were France and Son. I'm not super happy with the bait and switch. It first started with ordering at the beginning of October, then waiting as they stated there was a delay. I reached out by email and a phone call to get an update on delivery after three weeks. Every communication except the last three were initiated by me. I was then told, after waiting a week, that one of the items was out of stock until April 2023. That's fine, they shouldn't have it on their website, but I understand. I asked for a refund within hours of receiving that email. They sent me the paperwork saying they wouldn't give me a full refund. I told them to cancel the entire order then, if this is how they do business. They then offered the full refund. Then after dancing around a shipping date and making a Fed Ex label. They finally shipped the table through a third party shipping company. The third party shipping company then nickel and dimed me for any and all services. It was exhausting. Finally got a ship date and after telling me I would arrive between 12 and 5PM, it came in at 5:50PM and took the drivers another 20 minutes to find our shipment, drop it out of the of truck and they very nicely wheeled it to our door.. The delivery guys were super nice and we did get live updates on where they were. So they get points for that, but with all the horrible experiences we had thus far I really expected to find out our shipment wasn't even on the truck. The delivery guys get the 1 star, France and Son/Widdicomb.com gets nothing. Absolutely horrible experience and felt like I was getting ripped off the entire time. I had to be on top of every communication and push them for any and all service. The service I did get was all apologetic and understanding, but obviously not really helpful in the long term. I did finally get my table by the end of the November after ordering at the beginning of October, so lightening fast service by their standards. If you want a second job then order from this company and try to keep track of where they are with your order. Now, the table we did get is gorgeous and matches the coffee table we picked up. I was however, afraid the entire time unpacking it that there would be some damage and I would have to deal with these people again. So we were lucky, and I will never order from them again.
