We stayed at the Roebuck Inn in Wickham on Friday 20/12/19. It was our wedding night. We live locally and had a low key but beautiful wedding. My husband wanted to book a local hotel and chose the Roebuck. On arrival, all happy, we had to wait 5 minutes or so to be welcomed. We were carrying bags so it was obvious we were staying the night. The WiFi wasn’t working so it took another 5-10 minutes trying to locate the booking. We were then shown to our room, having to go outside, down a dark wet alleyway, being told to be careful of puddles - still in our wedding attire I wasn’t too pleased. We were shown our room which was cold. I remarked about this to the lady who said the heatings on a timer and comes on when the “thingy” kicks in. We unpacked and then sat on the bed in our coats under the blanket trying to warm up. We decided to make the most of it and went back to the bar. Again taking an age to be served as the WiFi was slow. We were the only two in eating that night. The place was a mess having been explained to that there was a large Christmas party in earlier and they’d made the mess. Shame no-one had thought to clear it up. There was rubbish in bags, large cardboard against a wall, a crate of clean glasses alongside the bar, a clear trip hazard. When we finally got a drink we went to a table near a radiator thinking it was on and would be warm, it wasn’t. Obviously on the same timer as the one in our room. We were given a menu but our table reservation that we’d been advised to make wasn’t until 8 so we had a couple more drinks. Deciding that there was absolutely no atmosphere, cold and tired after a long day, we ordered food. This was excellent. When we retired to our room around 8.45 we noticed in the bathroom that the shower dispenser on the wall apparently had come unstuck and lay attend on the floor of the shower. Oh and the room was still cold. Not wanting to make a fuss and ruin what had been a fabulous wedding day, we decided to keep warm by getting into bed. The heating finally came on around 9.30-10pm then the room started to warm up. We slept fairly well apart from lots of noise, other residents or staff continually opening and closing doors. We had luke warm showers, packed and went for breakfast. Walking back into the restaurant, we were welcomed with a hello. Not shown to a table so sat down ourselves and offered tea or coffee and given a menu. Not once did anyone ask if our stay was enjoyable - or how our room was. We ordered the full English breakfast choice, which was lovely. When we finished and left, we found the staff to say thank you to and left. I would say the Roebuck Inn is a lifeless, soul less place where the staff need customer service training and the WiFi needs to be sorted.

We have used Wild Gastro for some corporate events and they have been absolutely fantastic. They helped us get a sensible menu together that took into account everyones needs and tastes, and the food itself was excellent. Highly recommended.

Wild Gastro stepping in to cater our wedding with less than 4 months before the big day. Considering our time frame they were quick to find time to meet us very shortly after I contacted them. When we met Russell he put all of our worries and stresses to rest and we felt reassured.
The lead up to the day we organised everything with Jessica, none of my crazy and numerous requests were a problem. We truly felt like we were working together and looked after. The organisation and communication from Jessica made me feel confident and we had no worries leading up to the day. Not to mention the complimentry tasting session, which was was scrumptious! Really couldn't fault it one bit. We felt like VIP's sipping wine and dining on steak.
On the day everything went smoothly and we didnt have to think about timing or waiting for anything. Our canapes which were brought to us, were beautifully presented, almost too pretty to eat! Our mains and desserts were perfect and everyone complimented us on them! Along with "the best pizza they have ever tasted" served straight to the dance floor in the evening. They worked seamlessly with our venue and we really can't say thank you enough for all their hard work to make our day so memorable. Massive thank you to Russell and Jessica at Wild Gastro. They recently provided the catering for our wedding at Three Choirs Vineyard in Wickham. Everyone we have spoken to since mentions first how great the food was and we absolutely agree. Not only is their food fantastic but these guys made our preparations so much easier reproving us with advice on what would work best. Would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Their evenings at Lily's tearoom in Wickham are pretty awesome too! Thanks Russell and Jess, for everything!

A huge thank you to Wild Gastro for the excellent food and service we received on our Wedding Day in August 2018. All our guests were extremely complimentary about the quality of the food and we thought it was delicious too. The Cheese Tower was beautifully done; a real hit with everyone. The lady who led the catering team was very attentive and warm to us on the top table, and the waiting staff were smart and polite. We could not have asked for better service. Thoroughly recommended!

Russell and Jess were fantastic from start to finish, not at all pushy and really flexible with what we wanted for our wedding. We had the most amazing meal ‘on them’ at Lilly’s in Wickham before the big day. For our wedding the service and most importantly food were superb, they did an amazing antipasti starter platter followed by Spanish Tapas (one of our favourite meals!). We have received so many compliments from wedding guests about the lovely food, including the vegetarian option. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back to eat some more gorgeous food from them at Lily’s.

Wild Gastro were absolutely superb as caterers for our wedding. Guests continue to comment on the quality of the food and the team fitted our brief exactly!

The food is outstanding and the service from the staff exemplary and friendly! They really topped off our special day and if Russell keeps going how he is then I am sure a review star isn't the only one he will get (in my humble opinion)! The restaurant is well worth a visit too!

Jess and Russell done our wedding catering for our wedding in April and were absolutely amazing! From when we first met them we could tell that they definitely knew what they were talking about. The canapes were amazing and our bbq main that was plated was incredible. Everyone still keeps commenting on how amazing the food was! No one went hungry! We also had the dessert made on the table in front of us and our guests which kept everyone entertained and was perfect after such a big meal! I've also been told the pizza in the evening was fab but we didn't try any cause we were too full! Thank you for making our wedding day so special. We will be coming to visit at lilys soon! Russell and his team did the catering for our daughter's wedding and months later people are still talking about it as the best wedding catering they have had. The selection of food was amazing, totally fresh ingredients, mouthwateringly good, and beautifully presented. The desserts,alone were worthy of a place in bake-off! Russell himself is your ideal wedding caterer; he took a really personal interest in everything going well. It was very hot at our marquee event, and we were providing a free bar all day. At one point one of the white wines from our wholesaler ran out, It was not Russell's responsibility but he dispatched a member of his team for resupplies just to help us out. Perfect!

We were blown away with your food at our wedding. The guests are still talking about it now!

Russell and Jessica were amazing. They provided a great meal and nothing was too much. It was the little touches that made their service stand out in an outstanding day. When everyone was enjoying the canapés and we were having our photographs taken Jessica brought over a small selection to my wife and I to ensure we were well fed.
From the moment we started the planning they made everything so easy, I would highly recommend Wild Gastro.

The food was very good quality and there was lots of variety to choose from, we had a lot of feedback from guests saying they enjoyed it. Friendly service and both Russell & Jessica were really helpful during the planning stages! Would definitely use Wild Gastro again :)

Wild Gastro recently catered our wedding at Three Choirs Vineyard in Hampshire and we can’t thank them enough. We chose BBQ style with sides and it was perfect. From the slider burgers to the amazing Mac n cheese, everybody loved it! The deconstructed Eton Mess definitely had the wow factor too!The service was top notch from start to finish. Can’t recommend Russell, Jessica and the team enough. Thank you guys.

Food and service was absolutely amazing. All our wedding guests couldn’t get over how delicious and we’ll presented the food was. Highly recommend would defiantly book again for an occasion.

Russell and the team stepped in at very short notice when our wedding caterer went bust. They did us a fantastic job and our 150 guests all raved about the food. Wild Gastro could not have been more wonderful

Wild Gastro catered for a private function for my family this week. The food was fantastic, great quality and really good value. We had one of their buffet menus, but were able to add some really nice bespoke touches which made it even more special. The team at Gastro are easy to work with, helpful, friendly and professional and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone looking for something a bit special that won’t break the bank.
