Do not rent from WinStar…

Do not choose to rent from a building run by WinStar Property Management. We’re I to guess, they want it to run itself, but it doesn’t and can’t. Things don’t get fixed unless you ask in a litigious way. Other things were just installed by amateurs. I get multiple rent bills that don’t agree. They allow tenants to be a nuisance. Sloppy building with rents too high. I thought it would be better than this. And I’m sick it will take many months before my lease is up and I can leave. Terrible company.

I’m a tenant in

I’m a tenant in
3345 Drew St, Los Angeles, CA 90065

I'll start by saying that the management of this building is just terrible. When I moved into this building, this apartment, I didn't pay attention to basic things like outlets, the bathroom, the home heater, and much more being in a state of disrepair. When I asked why everything was in such a bad state and why it wasn't fixed before I moved in, the response was that they didn't know about these issues until I moved in! The building manager, Michael, said that utilities would cost around $50 per person. Two months later, I received a new bill for sewage, for trash that is always full and not collected on time, and for unclear additional charges that he did not mention. I should have been cautious when Michael, the manager, asked to re-sign the initial contract due to price changes because initially, it was said that there would be one free month! But upon clarification, the contract changed to a higher amount than what was stated on the website! The apartment didn't even have smoke detectors, not in the kitchen or the bedroom, which is a huge violation! Since moving in, there have been many issues, like broken outlets throughout the apartment, a clogged bathroom, a broken heater, and more! And to this day, I'm still waiting for everything to be fixed! I've contacted the building administration many times, specifically Dustin, who is supposed to handle these issues. He schedules the work, but no one comes to fix things, citing that the company has only one engineer for the entire company, which is not my problem at all! Calling and complaining to the manager was so disappointing that I was very upset by his response, saying I am the only tenant who constantly complains! If you are looking for a new place to live, I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUILDING AS YOUR FUTURE APARTMENT! I advise avoiding it and finding another place to live!

Scam

They will find any reason to keep your security deposit, even if the apartment was spotless when you left it.

Towed my car to Fort Worth twice

Towed my car to Fort Worth twice. 5 or 6 weeks ago I registered my car on your website. ( I live in Sawyer’s Mill Apartments) When it got to the part about verifying my email, it hung up. I assume it was because no one was in the office to check it. So I took the option to not use an email address, figuring I could straighten it out later. It printed the big green check mark and said my registration would be approved by email before I could park. But you said you would not use my email address. I did not even enter an email address.

The thing is I have a bad back and had a stroke so requiring me to park offsite would be a violation of ADA rules. I don’t know what else needed to be done in the office to complete my registration, but I wasn’t about top park offsite. I don’t even know where to find a safe, close place. There must be 50 vacant spaces near me. But you guys towed my car again. Shouldn’t the office have given me a weekend pass ? Maybe I should have left it in front of apartment 116. I called M & M and was told you wouldn’t bring it back and I still can’t drive because of my stroke.

Now we are stuck while I figure out how to make an Americans With Disabilities Act complaint. Surely they will say you guys broke the rules. Want to guess what the fine will be ? I really don’t know.
