Elliot for promotion

Living in a block of 14 flats , we decided to go from private waste collection to council collection.
There was some confusion during the purchasing and delivery of the council bins via BIFFA.
After a call to Elliot , he explained everything clearly and professionally, then followed through with the actions required to resolve our issues , later calling us back to advise what was needed to complete our change over.
Great personality, calming influence and knows his job.
Top Man Elliot.
Thanks again

What an absolute joke!

I tried to communicate a change in council tax via the online app, it does not work!

I phoned up, message states they are experiencing high volume of calls ( this actually means they have insufficient staff to answer the amount of problems they have!) Waited 20 minutes my call was answered, I was then told to email my changes, the email address I was given is no longer in use, the email address you should use is having problems so dont use it!

Get a grip!

Wallasey Social services, adult social care.

My son has low functioning Aspergers, aged 28, he was living with his Dad which his Dad had given up on him, my son was sleeping all day awake all night, i was worried sick, two social workers later, we met care navigator "Helen Scroggie" she was an Angel in disguse, she helped us so much! She moved mountains to get my boy set up in a supported living environment his own little place with great support, he is like a new boy! Thankyou so much Helen! Anyone who Helen is assigned to, is a very lucky family! She's a very caring hard working lady!

Absolutely useless, can't even empty the bins, why do I pay council tax again?

Paid Wirral Council for a Garden Waste bin, additional charge, and they didn't empty it?! Absolutely useless, will they refund or send the van out again, no because they're completely unhelpful. This is what you get when an area will vote in Labour regardless, the rep could be a bag of poo, and people from Merseyside would still vote them in.
And this is why you get this service as they don't have to try, as they know idiots will vote them in regardless.

The Wirral looks a mess with litter…

The Wirral looks a mess with litter everywhere, potholes everywhere and grass not cut for weeks. It is a very bleak picture and must look awful to others visiting the borough. Hey, what do I know? As long as the pollinators are happy ...
No wonder everyone feels miserable ..

The council in my opinion is corrupt. They have recently shown interest in building houses on an estuary marsh. This is crazy, this area floods at high tide.

I have lived in the wirral for over 50 years. The council is planning to build houses on the dee estuary marsh. This is unbelievable as the marshes flood at high tide. When the council has a chance to make money, the planning application goes through quickly but when an organisation eg Heswall Squash Club want to build two padel tennis courts on an a tiny overgrown disused area of greenbelt adjoining the club, the application is held up for two years. Despite planning permission being granted 5 years ago to build a sports barn on the same site (the cub did not go ahead with the sports barn).
Because this application does not benefit the council financially they have made them jump through hoops to no avail.

Ouch!

I slipped going through the main doors into the Cherry Tree today.
The second set of doors should be pull only (from St Albans road side) and the mats should be pushed towards the doors.
The tiles are too smooth and shiny.
They should be textured like they are in other areas.
I won't be using that entrance again!
I've nearly gone a couple of times but today I really went.
I hurt my neck, my right shoulder and elbow and knee and my left hip.
I feel as though my aches and pains have gotten worse as the day has gone on.
Thank you to the two ladies and man who literally got me up.
Someone from the Cherry Tree witnessed it so he took my name.

Where are the public toilets in New Brighton for…

Yesterday I visited New Brighton for the first time in many years. Where are the public toilets please. I ran in the castle which is now a wine bar that only lets paying customers the use of the toilet. I offered to buy chips to take into the beach but they refused. I ran with the children into Burger King to find you can only use your receipt to open the toilets. What an absolute disgrace. Beautiful beach. Not sure my children and I could chance not having access to a public toilet during a fun day out again

DISGRACEFUL SERVICE

Disgusting Service. Wirral looks a complete mess. Knee high grass, flower beds overrun with weeds, weeds growing everywhere. ABSOLUTELY ZERO PRIDE IN WHERE WE LIVE. Council tax forever going up and service getting worse. I agree with the concept of No Mow May in designated areas, but not along verges and grass areas around busy shops. Even when they do bother to get round to cutting the grass, they take about an inch off, dont strim around bollards etc, and leave grass cuttings to clog the drains. They blame the weather at every opportunity, to get away without doing the maintenance. Never seemed to be as much of a problem in the past. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE.

Council do nothing…

I contacted the council about fly tipping in the front of a neighbours house and it was eventually referred to environmental health after a letter had been sent to the owner. But it is impossible to contact them by phone and they don't reply to emails. They haven't even been to see the problem. Hopeless. I am paying council tax and get very little in return. No wonder the Wirral is such a mess.

Appalling service

Appalling service, They wouldn't speak to me on the phone even after a 45 minutes waiting for someone to answer, Send an email, I did!!, they are telling me now its over 30 days for a reply just to tell me how much my late Father owed.
All so I can settle the account. Wirral council must not need the money that badly.
I wouldn't give them any stars given the choice.

This council doesn't deserve 1 star…

This council doesn't deserve 1 star even, what a joke! An increase of 20% council tax for what??? Rubbish everywhere where I live, tripping over it! No wonder it's considered the worse establishment in England. I was wSlking along Egremont promenade and within 15 mins I saw 2 rubbish removal vans on a Sunday morning with their amber lights flashing that didn't even stop at any refuse bins or consider cleaning up the waste that I have to walk thorough every day. These blokes(3) are getting well paid for a leisurely drive along the riverside. This is what I pay my council tax for.Pathetic!!! No wonder I'm annoyed. WBC waste of resources

Wirral is a rotten borough

Wirral is a rotten borough. Just google the planning fiasco that is Birkenhead Market. The sea wall is a bad joke. They cut down trees for no reason. They build cycle lanes that nobody uses and waste money on 20mph signs in unsuitable roads. They also waste millions of pounds engaging consultants on developments they have no intention of ever completing, they awarded a sensitive contract to a person who should never be allowed anywhere near children and they have left Birkenhead and Wallasey to go to rack and ruin, at the mercy of criminals. No litter or flytipping enforcement for years and now it is too late, volunteers have to pick up the slack but can't because there is too much for them to do. Many of Wirral's beautiful beaches and parks are a mess, they would be unusable were it not for the volunteers. The council also builds brand-new expensive offices (not eco-friendly) for itself while pleading poverty and selling off assets such as the much-loved and popular Bromborough library which has now stood empty and derelict for years. There were valid community transfer proposals that were rejected for no good reason other than spite. To make the litter problem even worse, they are authorising plans for junk food restaurants faster than Starbucks can build them, and all the little high streets on Wirral are slowly closing down. Crime is horrendous because nothing is done to tackle the drug and thug problem. Houses and old churches are left derelict for no reason, attracting flytips and vermin. Developers are not issued with clean-up notices. Wirral residents are basically paying council tax for people to sit in council offices, ignore requests, mess things up, fail to provide vital services and demonstrate their ineptitude at every available opportunity. Every interaction with WBC in every department I have contacted is late, unnecessarily complicated, unhelpful or wrong. Phone lines are deliberately placed on Busy and/or they close the offices early. They don't give the single-person council tax discounts even when required justification is provided. There is more but you get the picture.
