Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 89 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the identity verification process to be ineffective and frustrating, often failing to verify documents even after numerous attempts and with clear images. People reported issues with the app and website not working correctly, including camera failures and an inability to link devices, leading to significant time wasted. This often resulted in users being locked out of other services or experiencing delays, highlighting a catastrophic failure in the service's core function. However, some people mentioned that the process was simple and worked without friction, particularly when verifying passports and selfies, and without requiring a mobile application installation. A few others also felt that the service provided more security due to biometric scans.

I had a very frustrating experience…

I had a very frustrating experience with Persona while trying to verify my LinkedIn account. The verification process is unreliable and poorly designed.

I tried multiple times using a high-quality phone and a stable internet connection, but the system kept failing to capture my information properly. Even when attempting to upload my ID manually, the platform repeatedly showed an error message saying the attachment couldn't be uploaded.

For a company that handles identity verification, this level of technical instability is unacceptable. The system feels buggy, inconsistent, and not user-friendly at all.

What makes it worse is the lack of clear guidance or proper support when something goes wrong. Users are left stuck in a loop with no practical solution.

Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. A verification platform should make identity confirmation easier and more reliable, not create unnecessary frustration for users.

Very poor service

Got me suspended from a freelancing gig because they were "unable to verify my identity" despite taking clear pictures of my ID in a well lit room

Very poor system and its sad that companies use you guys when there are WAY better alternatives out there.

Avoid

Linkedin now use this co to verify ID's.
Unfortunately withpersona's app based process is useless and can't match your face to any official documents. Now can't log into LinkedIn

I was asked to verify my Linked in with…

I was asked to verify my Linked in with this app that i never heard before. Not approved by official authorities and no idea where this info is going. This is a scam app for collecting personal data from id documents hiding behind the curtain of a large social media platform.

Super simple process

Super simple process. Picture of passport and selfie. Took longer to get up and get my passport than to finish the process. The company requesting identity verification showed pending review and completed their part of the process in about 10 hours.

Not working! + Huge security risk!

I tried several times to let a camera scan my drivers license, but it never worked!
Also I just wanted to upload & sell my art on etsy.com - and I really dont find it accebtable that they want
- CPR,
- CVR,
- birthday
- face scan
- passport / drivers license
- facial recognition scan
ALL that just for upload MY artwork to a portal for selling MY artwork!

It puts me and all others into HUGE security risk when ALL vital and highly personal data is kept into the same website and database! And even a thirdparty!
Even CPR and PayPal has been hacked!
So this Persona.com must be every HACKERS PARADISE!

I was asked to verify my identity via WithPersona for an important account, but the verification kept failing and now I’m locked out of the service with no resolution. Support just redirects to generic guides and doesn’t fix anything.

I've tried to verify my identity for Wealth Simple

I've tried to verify my identity for both OLG and Wealth Simple -- My own identity cards for OLG had been rejected last time I tried -- and this time for Wealth Simple the software has been unresponsive / buggy -- I am against digital I.D. verification because an over-cautious A.I. can destroy your livelihood --

Made by and for the Incompetent

Only an uniformed, lazy, and incompetent company would choose Persona for identification verification. It fails to do the one task that it exists for, verification. Since the WEF is taking over the world and driving everyone to Digital ID I understand the companies are forced to choose a verification platform, but this is not the one for you. If you are looking at Persona, RUN!
