Good bargain!
Price is very interesting, books are in immaculate condition but the delivery is a bit long. However, at this price it can be understandable.

Great service ( swift & efficient ), great read
If I could give zero stars, I would.
After years of buying second hand books and overlooking at times blatant lies about their condition, WoB scammed me by telling me if I bought three used books I would get one free and 10% off on top. I got nothing and at the stage in checkout when it said click to preview, I clicked but was simply told my order was confirmed- minus ANY DISCOUNT!!! I don’t like being scammed and made a fool out of when I am trying to do the right thing and only read used books. I cancelled the order instantly but they said it had already been processed and they could do nothing about the refund or false promises. They said I was free to send the books back and pay for the postage myself on top of the extra money I had already paid. I WILL NEVER BUY A BOOK FROM THEM AGAIN!
I am leaving this review as I have been surprised about how poor this company is. I ordered 5 books (2 new and 3 described as "Very Good"). The two new ones were fine. The three "Very Good" ones were waterstained, bent in half, had seeds or what looked like old food stuck in the pages. I had intended to give them as a present, but that wasn't possible. I asked for a refund, as the description didn't match that one on their website and, after 4/5 emails, they eventually refunded 1 but not the other two. I asked again and they said I had to pay them to return the two to them (they didn't ask this for the other one). However, i had to leave the order number visible on them; there was never an order number. All I want is to be refunded for books which were nowhere near as described on their site and so far this has been the most complicated, drawn out process, I have ever entered into. It seems you are fine if you purchase a new book (as presumably, you wouldn't want to return it), but be very wary if you are purchasing a used book. It is a shame as it has really tainted the gifts I wanted and taken the special moment away.
They use Royal Mail for delivery. Royal Mail said they'd left my book in my safe place in the porch. We do not have a porch. They'd left the parcel outside the front door in the rain. They also said they'd put a card through the door, they did not! At the end of the day we're paying for a service which isn't provided. Fortunately the book was still readable.
World of Books had the book we wanted at a very good price with free shipping. The book was ordered on Tuesday evening and was delivered on Thursday morning. It is in very good condition. We are happy with the book and the service provided.
I have purchased from WoB several times but will NEVER do so again.
I ordered an Agatha Christie book knowing full well the photo of the cover was for illustration purposes only. Due to this I always checked the full description as I only wanted later editions published by Harper Collins and not Fontana.
The description stated Harper Collins with a publish date of 2009, I received the older Fontana version published 10 years earlier.
When I contacted them about this I was told that in order to receive a refund I had to return the book which I did. They have refused to pay return postage stating it is the buyers responsibility.
I fully appreciate if I had changed my mind about the book then I would have to pay but to be held over a barrel of not having a refund until the wrong book is returned and expecting the customer to pay for postage is outrageous!!
So I am out of pocket for something that is their fault entirely.
All I can say is buyer beware....their customer service is appalling.
I don’t know what has happened to the website but I will not waste anymore time clicking on bikes or buses or whatever! You need to sort out identification of customers better than this. I’m sorry to have to write this but The Watson bot just doesn’t do it for me.
This is one of the best online companies.

When my book did not arrive, I contacted World of Books and they were very responsive and immediately provided the options available to me. Upon my request for a replacement book to be shipped, World of Books acted without hesitate and immediately did what was necessary to ensure that this book was delivered to me before Christmas. Truly outstanding customer service. Thank you.
Quick response to delivery problem. Very helpful and professional.
I really wanted to love this company, was a regular customer for years, giving them chance after chance but my advice here is...DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, BUY FROM WORLD OF BOOKS. Firstly, 99% of my many orders have arrived completely smashed/torn to shreds and the ONLY reason for that is because they NEVER, and if fact, refuse to use ANY kind of protective packaging. they just stick it in a plastic bag and send. I've mentioned it to them 100's of times and so have many of their customers in their own feedback but they just DO NOT CARE, AT ALL. all you get EVERYTIME is a copy and paste message from customer services saying how their items have to pass meticulous checks. Secondly, their customer service is one of the worst I've ever come across, really, really bad. its ALWAYS copy and paste first, then when you complain about their reply not dealing with the actual issue you've raised, you get an often arrogant, rude or a completely non-existent resolution. the final straw for me was when I bought a £20 book that was new from them, it was stuck in their customary plastic bag which arrived ripped open, books cover torn and spine of book split on both sides to halfway. was near impossible to report it via their Website but left a message with their robot. I got the usual copy and paste message saying how this must have 'slipped through their meticulous checks'. All they offered was that i find a similar priced book in their store and they'd send that to me. I had to fight to get a proper resolution. I haven't been back. there is a lot more but..JUST AVOID, SIMPLE AS THAT
