Would give a 0 stars if I could.

Would give a 0 stars if I could.

My car wouldn't start. Seemed like a starter. This is a pretty simple thing, but I am a chronic back pain sufferer from a military injury and can't really crawl up under my car anymore.

I used their online tool to schedule a technician to come look at the car. Cost me over $150 dollars. Not an awful price for a diagnostic visit, but they rescheduled me twice for this visit.

I finally got some money together to pay to have the work done and used the online tool to schedule to work. On the day work was scheduled, 10 minutes before they were supposed to be here, I got a call to reschedule. Sure. I can do that.
Then, an hour later I get a call to tell me that the quoted price is not correct. They need to add .4 hours of labor to my job. Nah. Not going to take that sitting down. I ask to escalate. I get a call back, I explain why I think changing my price after the fact, after I had been rescheduled, was inappropriate and the customer service rep that was supposed to be the next tier up just hangs up on me. I thought maybe we got disconnected, so I wait a bit to see if he calls back. Nope. I call in to let them know that my issue isn't resolved and the CS rep hung up on me. They offer to escalate me again... only for me to get the same guy and for him to hang up on me again.
I call back and mention I do not want to get him again...

A few days later I get a call. The lady was very nice and she understood why I was upset and offered a discount on the service. So, I rescheduled. The day of service, we had a hurricane hit, so when they called to reschedule, I was understanding. They scheduled for a few days later... then rescheduled. Day of the new appointment... oops. The technician had a personal emergency. That was the last straw for me. I cancelled and let them know that I would post a negative review anywhere I could find a place to put one.

How they are still in business, I will never know...

The Wrench mechanic stated that I…

The Wrench mechanic stated that I needed my spark plugs replaced. The mechanic then proceeds to use the wrong tool and got it jammed in the spark plug socket. The mechanic ghosted me and I ended up getting the car towed to my car's dealership. They dedicated many hours into getting this tool unstuck so that they could replace the spark plugs. Turns out that the spark plugs weren't the issue and I just needed the cylinder coil replaced. Normally this is a $200 fix at the dealership but because they had to dedicate hours to getting the tool unstuck I ended up paying $800 not including the cost of the tow and the $160 paid to the first mechanic who ghosted me after failing at his job in a multitude of ways. Customer service has "escalated" my complaint multiple times but I have not been contacted. I truly hope this business improves or closes

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

If your thinking of using this company DO NOT! They canceled my appointment and then charged me 150$ cancelation fee. The mechanic never showed up and when I called customer service they told me because my card couldn't be verified I got charged the fee. Obviously my card was verified for the 150$ fee they charged. I warn you they are crooked to deal with. DO NOT USE THEM!!!!

This company sucks and lies.

This company suvks. I scheduled an appointment for them just to look at the car that is under warranty. $160. A friend from.worked fixed it and I canceled 1 1/2 weeks on advance.intold them by text and email to cancel. I get a response that I have to download a form. Then sign it and send it to them. I told them I have a cell phone and have no way to download copy and mail the form back in time. I informed them a lawyer told me I had given you written warning that I canceled in advance. They threated that if I wasn't there they were taking %150 out of my account for not canceling.on time( they have ac2 days before policy). I once again said I gave you a written warning the canvas fixed don't come and if any money is taken from my account I'll sue for more than you took). Day of repair I get a voice mail and a text from the mechanic saying he's at my car. My car on that day was is another city because I was working and told them not to come. So I went to my bank canceled my debt card withdrew all of my money, all with the help of an account manager, and had a new card within days. No money was taken because they had no way to take it legally. I kept the text and voice mail if the driver lying his ass off. I guess he was standing next to the same color car.

THIS IS A SCAM

THIS IS A SCAM! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I booked a repair and was given an arrival time of 7:30am to 9:30am. My mechanic didn’t show up until 11:20am. He changed the part, ran my car for a few minutes then said everything was good to go. The next time I drove my car it completely turned off mid driving. The mechanic from Your Mechanic/Wrench gave me a bad part that left me stranded for 2 hours and in the end I had to tow my car home. By the time I got home Your Mechanic/Wrench was closed for the day. I had the part tested and it was determined that the one and ONLY reason my car shut down was from the sketchy work of Your Mechanic/Wrench. When I called Your Mechanic/Wrench they refused to uphold the warranty. They refuse to refund the cost of the part. They refuse to send out a mechanic to check the work/part. Every time I talk to someone with the company to try to solve the issue that they created they say I will get a call in 24-48 hours and I NEVER received a call. I’ve left voicemails with the warranty line (since no one has ever answered) that are not returned. This company scammed me out of $700. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

My appointment was canceled six times…

My appointment was canceled six times without a email text or call. Finally a month later the mechanic showed up and could not perform the work. I received an email stating I would not be charged because of cancellation and mechanic couldn’t do the work. I also called and they assured me I would not be charged but I was charged $629 on my Amex. I do not recommend this company nor will I ever use them in anyway. They also do not communicate with the customer or the mechanic and the communication is 100% lost from one person you speak to or the next.

Save your money and sanity

I had a terrible experience with YourMechanic.com / Wrench. In April 2024, I scheduled a battery replacement service, and not only did the technician fail to properly reattach the fender cover that protects the battery, but it also went missing after the service. I immediately reached out to their customer service by phone and email, but despite multiple attempts, I received no response.

On May 6, 2024, I sent an email following up on the fender issue, but that email went unanswered. Today, an agent falsely claimed that I had received a voicemail from the company on May 6 regarding the fender repair, which is not true. This misleading statement only adds to my frustration and dissatisfaction with their service.

Two days ago, I contacted them again because the brand-new battery they installed has already failed. My car had to be towed to a repair shop, where I had to purchase a new battery and pay for labor again. YourMechanic.com / Wrench advertises a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty on parts and labor, but they have refused to honor it because my car is now at a shop. During this initial call, I was told their warranty department would call me back within two days with a resolution, but instead, they refused to inspect it at the shop where it is currently located. They suggested that I pay an additional $150 to have the car towed back home so their mechanic could inspect it, which would bring my total towing fees to $300. If they find nothing wrong with the car, I would have to pay another $150 for the inspection. This is completely unacceptable.

I finally heard back from their warranty department escalation, and they offered no new resolution other than what was previously suggested. They even refused to cover the towing cost if it turns out the battery they installed was defective. When I asked if they would at least cover the tow if the battery was indeed faulty, they refused. I explained that the cost for them to fix it is higher than just getting a new battery, but the representative stated there was nothing more they could do. I informed them that I would be contacting consumer protection agencies and my bank to file a dispute.

I requested all records of my communication with YourMechanic.com / Wrench, but the agent ended the call abruptly, and I still haven't received those records. This company has been nothing but frustrating to deal with, and I cannot recommend their services to anyone. I will be proceeding with getting my car fixed by another company because I cannot afford to be without it any longer. I expect a full refund for breach of contract as well as the cost of parts and labor for another company to perform the fender repair.

YourMechanic.com / Wrench has been unresponsive, uncooperative, and has shown a complete disregard for customer service and warranty obligations. Avoid this company at all costs.

Mechanic Misdiagnosis & Negligent Customer Service

💰 We often think business "success" is cash flow. However, that is short term. I think what really defines success is how a business handles things that go wrong.

When a business shines in customer service, they reap the rewards of free word of mouth promotion.

I know from experience in marketing that 50%+ of peer to peer recommendations can result in customer action.

When they fail, that opportunity dissolves and even works against future earnings potential.

Wrench, Inc. YourMechanic (Acquired) you have failed. For years, I have regularly told my friends to hire you. I have never had a bad experience, until now.

Last week, my car broke down.

On Wednesday the ABS light came on and the engine was making some grinding noises. Eeep! I had to get it towed home.

When I got home at 2am I booked a diagnostic.

Your own customer service staff agree that the intent of a diagnostic is to diagnose what is wrong with the vehicle. The outcome is a report on the health of the car. It is a continued business driver for Wrench because it recommends further services.

Wrench team, I want to give you my money! Please tell me how to spend it so I can get back on the road.

The mechanic did not do their job. They only recommended that I needed coolant, which we put in the vehicle and then he said that it is no longer making the grinding noises. When I turned the vehicle on the next day and tried to take it to Jiffy Lube as a double check... it was still making grinding noises. I walked to an automotive store and bought more coolant. Still making noises.

I know from a previous diagnostic that this mechanic should have recommended break pad replacement. Your customer service team sees this in their records. This mechanic should have also recommended the brake light replacement service. I did this on my own after going to the automotive store.

Since there are further issues that the mechanic did not identify, I Googled and educated myself for how to get the vehicle into engineering test mode. This identified that the vehicle is in need of an oil change and the emission system light is on.

These are things that should have been in the diagnostic report.

Last Saturday I contacted your customer service team to inform them of the misdiagnosis. They agreed that the items outlined should have been in the report and the mechanic should have recommended further services.

I requested that your team redo the diagnostic. I will pay for a second opinion! If there are further issues discovered, the previous $160 cost becomes credit on my account.

This should not be a big deal for your team to execute. And it is a small dollar request that lets you keep the cash and get MORE cash for additional services that the mechanic should recommend.

Why is this taking almost a week now to solve with me calling every day and your service team continuing to tell me you'll get back to me in 24hrs?

I had to say something about it. Love your company but this is just inexcusable!

If I could give zero stars I would…

If I could give zero stars I would. Scheduled an appointment to come do a diagnostic test as believed I had a fuel pump issue and an oil and filter change. All was well until the day of the appointment. I was scheduled 7:30a-9:30a, I get a call about 9:15 to tell me the mechanic had a family issue and would need to reschedule. Though annoyed I understand things happen so I rescheduled for the following day in the afternoon at 2:30. About 2:25 I get call saying the appointment would again need to be rescheduled. I initially rescheduled again until I began to think about how this is becoming a trend. I called back to cancel and finally got confirmation. I feel like I was held hostage for two days because I’m without a vehicle and an unreliable company to assist with my car needs.

Unreliable and Untimely Warranty Support

We booked service through Wrench/YourMechanic for their competitive pricing and ability to have a mechanic do the work at your home. We had our front brakes replaced on our 2019 Mazda Cx-5 and the mechanic did great on the job but I believe because the brake pads were not OEM, the brakes are starting to squeak at every brake and every turn of the wheel which is abnormal for newly replaced brakes. With Wrench/YourMechanic's warranty of 1-year or 12,000 miles. We thought we'd be able to get ahold of their warranty department to come to a resolution... but it's been one week since we've emailed and left a voicemail and still no communication from them. I'd highly recommend the work but I cannot recommend Wrench/YourMechanic should the work go wrong.

UPDATE:

After 2 months of trying to reach out to their customer service and dealing with the BBB. I got a pre-warranty diagnostics appointment scheduled on the exact one year mark of my brake pads being replaced. I had to place a $150 pre-authorization on my card for a mechanic to come out and if they deemed the part defective was covered under warranty, they would refund me the $150 pre-authorization. The mechanic that came out determined that because the previous Wrench mechanic didn't do the job correctly (replaced the brake pads without replacing the brake rotors) that was the reason for the brake squeak so they deemed it not covered under warranty due to them only working on the brake pads. So after hundreds of dollars invested in Wrench's services, I have defective brakes that could've been prevented if the original Wrench mechanic would've informed me to do the job the correct way. I highly would not recommend Wrench's services.

I am getting the runaround on a…

I am getting the runaround on a warranty claim they said they submitted on 8/11. Technician came out on 8/10 for diagnostic. He says brake sensors are needed to fix the issue. Wrench says they submitted claim to warranty company on 8/11. I’ve called warranty company multiple times and they have no record of claim from Wrench. I’ve called Wrench everyday since 8/12 and I’ve been lied to and have gotten nothing but conflicting information. I was first told the claim was emailed to warranty company on 8/11, then I’m told they will escalate for status. Now today 8/14 the rep says he can’t see if the claim was submitted or not and he needs to escalate to their “warranty” department again. I ask for a manager and I have now been on hold for over 30 minutes and the rep has not checked in with me once. I am so frustrated right now. They have $150 of my money on hold and as soon as it clears I am disputing with my bank. This is totally unacceptable. If I could give 0 Stars I would.
