Educational but not really a course
Firstly, I bought this from Groupon for £12 which was good value. It is not worth the original stated value (which was over £200 if I remember correctly).
The course consists of modules followed by multiple choice questions. The questions are more of a memory test, often pointless, sometimes patronising but I suppose this is how it gets to be called a course as there is no other 'course' element just modules which you read and that's it. You cannot move onto the next module till you get 70% of the questions right on each module which is somewhat frustrating if you're not interested in e.g., script writing.
On the plus side, I found many modules useful in both practical and creative terms, e.g. Writing for 7-12 Year Olds (with the Fog Index - how to calculate the age band of your piece of writing) and Plotting Storyline and Themes. Also there is advice for writers at every step, from beginners to those about to submit.
On a less important note, some of the modules need a bit of editing e.g the click buttons don't correspond with their names. Not that important but relevant given the author's dislike of grammatical and spelling errors (module 13). Similarly, the author's constant references to political correctness were at first mildly irritating but became jarring by the 9th module.
I would recommend this 'course' but not, as stated, for the original value of £200+. I had already written a few stories and feel that the course has successfully improved my writing
