I found that the Wunderflats platform offers a wide range of furnished apartments, and the application process is very straightforward. The multilingual interface is especially helpful for non‑German speakers. One of the best features is how clearly the entire process — from application to booking confirmation — is displayed.
By comparison, on Immoscout24 it’s often unclear what’s happening in the background.
The Wunderflats staff are very helpful and respond quickly to any questions. Once your application is accepted by the landlord, you’re assigned a personal advisor — in my case, Stefan J — who supports you all the way through to the final booking confirmation.

I rented an apartment through Wunderflats:

Contract signed: 21 December 2025
Contract start date: 26 January 2026
Location: Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany
From the very beginning, serious problems occurred, but the most serious issue is legal.
On 28 January 2026, I went to the city registration office (Bürgeramt) to perform the mandatory residence registration (Anmeldung).
The registration was officially refused because the landlord confirmation document (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung) contained an invalid signature and was considered potentially false by the authorities.
Since 28 January, I have repeatedly requested a valid and legally compliant Anmeldung document from both the landlord and Wunderflats.
To this day (10 February 2026), no valid landlord confirmation document has been provided.
Instead, only a deregistration document (Abmeldung) was sent, which is legally useless for residence registration.
On 09 February 2026, I was refused again at the Bürgeramt for the second time.
On 09 February 2026, I also sent a formal email to both the landlord and Wunderflats requesting an urgent solution and formal termination of the contract.
The landlord did not resolve the situation, and Wunderflats has not provided any response or effective support.
Because of this situation:
I cannot legally register my residence
I cannot start my employment
I am unable to work
I cannot legally live in Germany
I am suffering direct financial and professional loss
This represents a fundamental breach of contract. The property cannot fulfill its basic legal purpose: lawful residence and registration.
Wunderflats was fully informed of the situation, but failed to take effective action to resolve the problem, protect me as a tenant, or ensure compliance by the landlord.
As a result, the contract had to be terminated for just cause, and I was forced to leave the apartment.
I am now requesting:
Full refund of the security deposit (€1,000)
Refund of February rent (paid in full, used only 9 days)
Refund of the Wunderflats service fee (€300) due to failure of service and lack of proper intervention
This experience caused serious financial damage, professional harm, and emotional distress.
I share this experience publicly to warn other users and to request that Wunderflats take responsibility for the services it intermediates, improve its verification processes, and actively protect tenants from illegal and non-compliant rentals.

I had an incredibly stressful experience with Wunderflats that lasted over three months. I am writing this to warn both tenants and landlords about their business practices regarding cancellations.
After realizing I needed to withdraw my application shortly after booking, I initiated the process on their platform. Due to what appears to be a technical error on their side, the withdrawal didn't "register," and I received no confirmation. When I later tried to finalize the cancellation with the landlord—who was in total agreement with me—Wunderflats blocked the process.
They issued an invoice to the landlord for €5,090 (their full commission for a 2-year lease), despite the fact that I was never moving in. Most shockingly, they actually advised the landlord to sue me and drag me to court to recover their fee instead of acknowledging the cancellation.
The only reason this was resolved is that I maintained a direct and honest line of communication with my landlord. We coordinated together against Wunderflats' pressure tactics. Eventually, after three months of back-and-forth and a threat of legal action from the landlord's side, they finally discharged his fee and cancelled the booking.
The "service" provided here was non-existent, and the attempt to incite a legal battle between a tenant and a landlord just to protect a commission is predatory. Be extremely careful and document every single click you make on their platform.

It was a very straighforward process to search and get an apartment with Wunderflat, and Milan M (Account Manager). was really supportive to ensure I had all my documents right.

The booking process was a bit tough as the booking system is not very fit for third party booking. But Bakir O. was super helpful! and gave us the advice needed for a successful booking of the temporary home for our clients.
