HELPFUL INFORMATION
The information was great. It was valuable to past, present and future generations. I recommend reading and sharing this article.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY—TOTAL SCAM!
I am beyond frustrated with 23andMe. I purchased a kit as a gift, only to find out that the barcode was deactivated because of their "same country" policy. Apparently, you have to return the sample from the exact same country where it was purchased, or they just trash your kit.
Is this mentioned clearly in the product description? NO. They bury this "policy" deep in the fine print of their legal disclaimer where they know nobody will see it until it’s too late. It is a predatory tactic designed to take your money and provide zero service in return.
To make matters worse, when I contacted customer support to explain the situation, they refused to issue a refund or a replacement. They effectively stole my money and now I’m left with a useless plastic tube. They hide behind "regulatory compliance" as an excuse for terrible transparency and even worse customer service.
If you aren't 100% sure you are mailing this from the exact GPS coordinate where you bought it, don't bother. This company is more interested in technicalities and keeping your cash than actually providing DNA results. Avoid at all costs!
I have already contacted your team via email regarding kit #19-0324-3704-0315. Since you do not provide support ticket numbers, this is the only reference I have. To be honest, after my experience, I’ve realized that the term 'Customer Care' is a euphemism—much like the naming of the Pacific Ocean (Mar Pacífico). It suggests a level of calm and support that is entirely absent from the actual experience.

Highly recommended!
I’ve had so much fun looking through all of the information this site provides! A lot to look at and a lot to take in! Really interesting! Just try it!
I do however have the premium subscription and it is expensive in my opinion. But, I have seen different things from ancestry.
Overpriced and inaccurate
I was very dissatisfied with my experience. The results felt vague, generalized, and inconsistent, and did not align with my known medical history or genetic background. Much of the information appeared speculative rather than evidence-based, which made it difficult to trust the accuracy of the reports. For the price paid, I expected more transparent data, clearer explanations, and results that felt personalized rather than generic. Overall, I feel this was a waste of money and I would not recommend 23andMe to others.

Read the fine print very carefully…
Read the fine print very carefully before purchasing a 23andMe kit.
I was recently diagnosed with cancer and ordered a 23andMe kit believing that the purchase price covered access to my health and genetic results. After submitting my sample, I discovered that I cannot view important health-related reports—including cancer-related genetic information—unless I sign up for an annual subscription and provide a credit card.
This was not clearly disclosed at the time of purchase. As someone dealing with a serious medical diagnosis, it is deeply upsetting to feel pressured into a recurring payment just to access information that could impact my family’s health, such as BRCA1 and BRCA2 risk.
Genetic health information should not feel like it’s being held behind a paywall—especially for people facing cancer and trying to responsibly inform family members of potential hereditary risks.
I regret this purchase and would encourage others, particularly those with medical concerns, to consider clinical genetic testing through a healthcare provider instead of relying on consumer DNA services with subscription-based access.

Verified what I already knew
Most people are often skeptical of these sorts of test because they don’t want a random company having their DNA but as someone who works in healthcare I tell people if you’ve done blood work, someone already has your genetic DNA, so why not use yours for something for yourself. It was fast. Easy and updates frequently to give more specific data which I appreciate. Most of the information I already knew. Some were new which answered a lot of questions my family had
Great company
Great company. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone wishing to learn more about their family tree or for DNA matches. Prompt replies when reaching out for support
Buyer Beware of 23andMe's Problems & Performance
I have been a 10 year member of 23andMe and initially found their genetic testing with a saliva sample, innovative and very helpful for individuals who are interested in learning about their genetic makeup and traits. However, in recent years, they have experienced a major data breach that affected millions of customers along with financial & governance conflicts that resulted in bankruptcy, subscriber concerns in accessing and finding their genetic and family history data and having the right to delete their data and destroy their saliva samples. Finally, it appears to me that 23andMe is using AI to receive and respond to customer service questions and concerns with poor results.
The lack of relatives traced
The lack of relatives traced, was the only thing I can complain about. All other areas were excellent!
I cancelled when the breech first…
I cancelled when the breech first occurred.
I have since received notification that my information was stolen and I had to change personal setting.
23and me said I did not cancel and Charged me another year.
Follow up review.
23andMe responded and handled my issue very professionally. I appreciate their time and consideration to my issue.

I love Team Body Project
I love Team Body Project. They post new exercises quite frequently, so there's a wide variety to choose from. I never thought I'd love lifting weights or doing aerobics, but I do now!
New things yo up learn about your history .
I learn a lot about my background ancestors. Very impressive.,
Get it for the historical Matches and health
The results and features offers are fascinating and useful. My favorite is the Historical matches feature
Order not received
Update 7 April 2026: after eventually receiving my kit (they had to re-dispatch a second kit as the first never arrived). I sent my sample back to the lab on the 7th of January. It was eventually received at the lab on the 4th of February. I have now been waiting over 9 weeks for my results. The timeline on the app is completely useless and I've been given the same response as other reviewers "Due to high volume at our lab, processing is taking longer than usual. Stay tuned! Your results will be ready soon."
They clearly don't have the capacity to process the results in a timely manner, yet they're more than happy to keep selling kits instead of making effort to expedite the results of customers who have already purchased kits.
Really disappointed in the service (or lack thereof) received from 23andMe.
I wish I could comment on the product but I'm yet to receive my order!
As per numerous reviews, you pay €13 for shipping but they can't even provide you with a tracking number for your order. You're pretty much left at the mercy of trusting that they've actually dispatched your order and then you must just sit and wait for a minimum of 3 weeks, hoping that it'll arrive on a random day and when it doesn’t, they expect you to go through the entire process again. What an absolute joke! Its 2025 yet they're still making use of courier companies that can't provide tracking and then they have the cheek to charge €13 for shipping. The standard "we're sorry to hear about your experience, please contact our customer service team" response is also getting a little old. JUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT ALREADY

Still no dad :(
I mean, it was interesting to see my DNA composition, but overall I didn’t know any of the people tried contacting and reaching out to people. Nobody got back to me. It was just one dead end after another, really kind of hopeless. I had one person really try to help me and she claimed to be an expert at this, and she only felt dead ends and stopped communicating after weeks of dead ends.
Good experience
Good experience. Affordable kit, fast results easy to navigate website.
I do not want the premium membership
I do not want the premium membership. I just canceled the auto renew which I never intended to use. Especially now that you are bankrupt or having difficulties. My membership renewed in October which provides me zero useful information and I would like a credit for the remaining of this year. Seems like you should have better ways to reach you on your site. Very disappointed.

rogue company
I canceled this immediately after online purchase and never used it and still haven’t got refund, they sent envelopes weeks after despite cancellation .. they have denied it saying I didn’t cancel when there’s proof and it’s not even used, so won’t recommend this company, imagine what the results would be (not trustable)? if they act like this.
