I called out a mobile electrician to…
I called out a mobile electrician to fix my reverse camera, but instead he's burnt the main wiring harness, after the car was unable drive. I lodged insurance claim to AAMI and Suncorp declined because I'm let the electrician drive my car. That's not true, the car wasn't move a bit. It's happened 21/08/2025.
Save your honor
Save your honor, reputation or prestige.
They do everything to dishonor and put blame on you and threaten. Worst experience with your policies, it a punishment to buy insurance with you as, you have to only choose worst car repairer of their choice - Capital Smart Repairers who closes at 4pm where all the repairer normally close 5pm and are the biggest liars. No one told us or gave any written instructions about car drop policy.
Worst customer services from Ben Santos 271343.
AMMI want to use online more, but their system is broken most of time.
Last time have to wait for more 30min to talk to someone, what if there is any urgent query in case of accident.
For sure, it will be last time will be buying your services and will definitely not recommend to anyone known. Also don’t do anything about this review and keep it as you are working so, Suncorp Company rethink of why they have to pay you.
Don’t how they have 4.3 fake star.
If you go to truspilot or Product review, you will see the genuine value
Terrible company
Terrible company. Direct debit did not come out of our account even though it is active and always has money in it. Did not call us to let us know - just blamed us and then cancelled our insurance, which now affects our premiums with other insurance companies. Customer service does not exist anymore.
Horrible and faceless company!
Horrible and faceless company!
We are one of the contractors of a building site in kew. It seems the builders temp fence damaged their clients car due to the wind. They were not able to find builders contact details then took our number on the fence and alleged our liability for the damage. Only knew this story after calling them as they sent us ridiculous letter of demand without any basis. Very shocked they would pursue such case to an unrelated party, the worse case is they kept chasing us even after we told them to stop. This proves to me it must their company policy and for this im giving them a 1 star review!
AAMI sucks for not at fault drivers
AAMI left me car less when I went to pick up the hire car. As a not at fault driver, they did not tell me that the hire car would not be insured and the excess would be $2750 should anything happen during the time AAMI are repairing my car. It's unreasonable for non policy holders to be out of pocket if they want a hire car without excess or large excess.
Had they advised me 2 months ago I would not have accepted their booking and went with a not at fault provider.
I thought I was doing AAMI a favour by letting them arrange a hire car for me but they left me car less at the SIXT reception.
Never go with AAMI if you are the not at fault party.
They ripped us and deregistered our…
They ripped us and deregistered our vehcile for no reason except that they said it was economically too expensive to fix - got second opinion from another panel beater who said once he took the front end off the car had clearly been damaged further by someone and said AAMI are the worst - dont trust them, will make your impact worse to make your car a write off!! dodgy dodgy people.
Scumbags
We didn't have roadside assistance on our car insurance policy (our fault). My pregnant wife was a long way from home and needed help. I called AAMI to add roadside assistance and get help. They refused. They were happy for my pregnant wife and unborn baby to risk their lives on the road.
We have had the worst experience ever
We have had the worst experience ever. We have been dealing with AAMI trying to get our insurance refund that they said they had refunded to us to our credit card first which we didn’t receive. Then they changed their mind and told us they sent it back into our home loan account, which was already closed so we rang them back and showed them. The evidence has been closed and to refund us to our credit card or check whatever works. They will not refund us anything and will not show us any proof that they have paid into that account. they are thieves they owe me over $800 and we have had the worst customer service ever. I am taking this further. I’m going to see AAAC I’ve had enough.!!!
There are many facets to insurance…
There are many facets to insurance and on one hand, their roadside assist (used twice) was very, very good. Unmarked Ute came and the mechanic was well equipped and friendly. Fixed my problem on both occasions quickly (no not a dumb out of fuel or flat battery). The claims department on the other hand is outsourced and read from a script. If it’s outside the norm, they don’t listen or understand and you go round and round banging your head against the wall.
Panel repair are performed by wherever your local panel beaters are which are independent anyway so some could have a good experience and some bad but tell aami and they’ll send you to another one.
AAMI themselves are terrible to deal with so they get a 1. All the panel beaters and road side assists people have been great
Honestly 100%
Honestly, this experience with AAMI has been extremely frustrating.❌❌
My car was hit by another driver and I was not at fault. From the start, I clearly told AAMI multiple times that my car has aftermarket modifications and cannot be sent to a normal repair shop. Despite this, I was still sent to a repairer who couldn’t work on modified vehicles.
I went to the repair shop on the scheduled day, only to be told in person that they could not repair my car at all. This meant I wasted the entire day.
What makes it even worse is that I was supposed to receive a replacement car that day. However, because the repair couldn’t go ahead, the replacement car was postponed and will now only be provided once a new repair date is confirmed.
So in the meantime:
• I have no car
• And if I urgently need a car, I am told I must arrange and pay for a rental myself, with no reimbursement
Every time I raised these concerns, the response from staff was simply that they were “following the process,” with no consideration of the situation or the fact that this problem was caused by poor handling.
This whole situation could have been avoided if my information had been properly considered from the beginning.
If you expect real support when you’re not at fault, think carefully before choosing AAMI.
⭐ 1 Star
⭐ 1 Star – Disappointing and Untrustworthy
Extremely disappointed with AAMI Insurance. I paid extra specifically to insure my engagement ring for accidental damage, only to have my claim rejected due to a hidden technical detail buried in the fine print.
When I actually needed to rely on the policy I’d been paying more for, the response was basically “too bad, so sad.” No real attempt to help, no flexibility, just excuses and policy wording used to dodge responsibility.
What’s the point of paying extra for coverage if they won’t honour it when it matters most? This experience has completely destroyed my trust in AAMI. I would strongly advise anyone considering them to read every single line of the policy — because they certainly will when it comes time to deny your claim.
Aami not loyal to customers
If you're a loyal customer and the longer you are with Aami , the more they will charge you. Never renew your policies, always get new quotes everywhere. I get new quotes every year and ended up saving $1000 against Aami's renewel. Even getting a requote of Aami they didnt even come close, for the same type of insurance.
Avoid Battery Purchase and Warranty via AAMI Roadside Assistance
I strongly advise against buying a battery through AAMI Roadside Assistance.
I purchased a battery from AAMI’s third-party roadside assistance provider when my car battery went flat. The battery came with a **3-year warranty**, and I was an AAMI member at the time of purchase. I later ceased my AAMI membership.
When I started experiencing issues with the battery and contacted AAMI via live chat, I was told immediately that **because I am no longer a member, they cannot help at all**. This was shocking, as the battery was sold with its own warranty.
After lodging a formal complaint, I received a call from AAMI Roadside Assistance and was informed that since I am no longer a member, I must first pay approximately $120 (retail call-out fee) for their third-party provider to inspect the battery. If the provider decides the battery is “okay,” **no refund is provided**, meaning I lose $120 even though the battery itself cost around $240.
This puts customers completely at the mercy of the provider. AAMI also refuses to share the direct contact details of the third-party battery provider, so customers cannot independently have the battery inspected under warranty.
During the phone call, the representative seemed unwilling to acknowledge that there could be a genuine issue with the battery and focused only on policy rather than resolving the problem.
I feel trapped and extremely disappointed with AAMI’s handling of this matter.
Avoid purchasing batteries through AAMI Roadside Assistance unless you plan to remain a member indefinitely.
No Customer Loyalty
After insuring a property I own with AAMI for 22 years without making a claim, AAMI refused to renew because the property "is in a flood plain". I checked and found the risk to be low (1 in 100 years) so appealed for a return of customer loyalty. In a mechanical action my appeal was rejected so I wrote to the Board and got exactly the same answer, a polite "Get Stuffed" letter. Do not expect any loyalty from AAMI. I have since cancelled all policies with them. So have family members.
Do not respond to emails
Do not respond to emails - phone does not get answered. Awful company to deal with.
If could give aami -0 stars i would
If could give aami -0 stars i would, totally unscrupulous with no moral principles , i am the 3rd party at fault but the claim is bullshit, aaami charged for things that were not damaged and did not need to be replaced managing to rack up a sizeable amount of $$$$ for bollocks. Talking to their consultants in any area is painful, like having your teeth extracted with pliars
I made the phone call for an elderly man whose car would not start.
I made the phone call for an elderly man as his car would not start. He did not understand the that it wasn't a real person who was answering his call after he persisted for a while. The automation response which requires info to be put into a message sent to the phone for an elderly person who is not very techo is ridiculous. There should be an availability for these people to talk to a 'real person'.
I made the call myself and filled out the automated requirements for him after he already wasted a good 30 minutes or so not understanding what was happening on the phone and waiting to talk to someone.
The Technician who came to the car was very caring and informative and explained what was wrong and what this gentleman had to do after his car was started.
AAMI are absolute crooks
AAMI are absolute crooks - our car was written off when someone hit it parked in the street and the payout AAMI gave was disgraceful. Spoke to the panel beaters that AAMI use and they also said AAMI is shocking..and they would know !!
Terrible
Terrible. The other party was at fault and admitted it. It was a clear cut case. 3 weeks later still waiting for my car to be assessed. Customer service says it was a system glitch!
Never going with AAMI
I am very pissed off as I have been…
I am very pissed off as I have been with AAMI for well over 20 years and to be treated like shit I got hit from behind and they want me to pay over $1,300 what a joke
