Supportive and reliable trustees for your financial planning

I have been a customer of Abacus for over twenty five years. I have always found Noel to be knowledgeable and fair-minded. I value his judgement and have always found him and the team responsive and diligent in follow-up and administration. I would recommend Abacus. They charge fairly and transparently, unlike others in the industry and have been there for the long term for me

Complete incompetence

Had the most awful experience with this company recently. I engaged this company and in particular its owner Noel Greaves to transfer my Final Salary pension in the form of a CETV, approximately £600,000 to another provider that would allow me to access it in a way that suited my plans and needs, plus other benefits. My plans were discussed agreed and documented by Noel Greaves at the start of things but he failed to research my company pension schemes rules and recommended a totally unsuitable destination for my pot of money. This move was never going to allow access to this money in the way I had planned. This came to light after about 6 months. It was down hill all the way, further mistakes followed. Missed deadlines, a breach of confidentiality followed by lies and manipulations. See the Financial Ombudsmans website and check out his Final Decision DRN 4189936. It goes on somewhat but its clear he holds Noel Greaves totally responsible for his failings. The Ombudsman insisted Noel Greaves pays back my £6,000 upfront fee and awards me £750 for the distress I have suffered. This is a pittance in my view and I feel Noel Greaves has been treated very nicely for his failings which is just unbelievable. Noel Greaves incompetence has left me approximately £160,000 out of pocket which I know won't bother him in the slightest as he is one of these people that has no regard for anything or anyone.
I would strongly advise anyone to stay well clear of this company. Steve Snook Tewkesbury.
