I do not recommended Absolute to anyone. I’ve participated in other international internship programs before like VaCorps in Cape Town - where I had an amazing experience. I’m also not someone who typically writes negative reviews. However, my experience with Absolute was so negative that I feel a genuine obligation to share my experience to help other students avoid what I went through.

I strongly urge anyone considering this program to review their Terms and Conditions very carefully before committing. These legal terms are binding, heavily one-sided, incredibly restrictive, and designed to limit your consumer rights, especially around refunds and dispute resolution. Once you pay, you’re locked in – without ever signing a contract or being explicitly shown these terms.

The full program cost I paid was €4,495. Of that, €1,400 was for the internship placement alone — meaning the remaining €3,095 was charged for housing and Absolute’s “services.” After researching the actual cost of the student housing they arranged, I discovered Absolute is significantly inflating the price. Worse still, the "services" they promise were minimal at best. The limited social events conflicted with my actual internship hours, making them inaccessible.

I initially chose the full program because I believed I’d be in a shared apartment with fellow interns, creating a social and supportive environment. That never materialized. I was placed in an isolated dorm-style room, and multiple efforts to get clarity on this before paying were either ignored or brushed off. Once I voiced concerns, the tone shifted — Absolute became cold, unresponsive, and relied entirely on buried legal clauses to deny any refund or flexibility, regardless of fairness or miscommunication.

Not only is Absolute Internship a misleading and exploitative company, but they overcharge and misrepresent their offerings, taking advantage of students who want a meaningful abroad experience. They prioritize profit over transparency, fairness, or student well-being. I sincerely hope others can avoid what I went through — both financially and emotionally.

My overall experience with Absolute Internship was amazing. They took great care of all students participating on the trip. All activities that Absolute had planned for us were fun, interesting, and offered great insight into the cultures of the country we visited. I highly recommend traveling with Absolute Internship if considering studying abroad.

My experience with Absolute Internship was excellent. They organized a Study Abroad trip for my School of Business at Emporia State University to Barcelona. I loved everything about it from the preparation, accomodations, company and culture experience that we obtained. The 10 days we were there well all very well planned. We got to visit multiple companies to enhance my education and get an outlook on the work life abroad. Experiencing a new culture was also an amazing and enjoyable opportunity. I am so happy I took this chance to study abroad as it was some of the best days of my life.

Joho Architecture has a bold and creative design style that really stood out to me. Although my time with the firm was short, I learned a lot about their unique approach to design.

A highlight was getting the chance to explore AI tools. They showed me how AI can generate forms, improve structures, and optimize materials, which deepened my understanding of its potential in architecture.

I also gained insight into Korean architecture and how firms operate there, which broadened my perspective. The team was welcoming and supportive, making the experience even more rewarding. It was inspiring to work with people passionate about pushing design forward in a creative and positive environment.

I interned at an architectural company that Absolute Internship aided in finding and it was an extremely knowledgeable and amazing experience. My supervisor was so kind and considerate allowing me to experience the field holistically.

During my year 3 summer, I have had a chance to go for an international internship organized by Absolute Internship. It was the best summer I have ever had.
As a student with engineering background, I was interning in a structural consultancy. Since it is the first time for me to work in engineering industry, I have understanded what’s the main tasks in an engineering consultancy. During the internship, I was assigned with different tasks including structural calculation, design with software and modelling. Besides the assigned tasks my supervisor, I was encouraged to do some self-study on my own based on my interested topics and share to my colleagues of what I have learned. It is a wonderful experience for me that I have chance to work and think out of the box. At the same time, the international working experience allows me to immerse myself in a new environment and to experience a more relaxing working environment.
I am currently working in an engineering consultancy as an assistant engineer. The internship helps me a lot in equipping myself with how engineers mindset should be in order to contribute to the community, which correlate to what I am working on now.

Spending my summer in Paris with Absolute Internship was an unforgettable experience. The Absolute team was incredibly supportive, making the transition smooth and stress-free.

Internship was at a very welcoming firm, who provided very engaging tasks allowing for thorough engagement. The tasks allowed for great insight into contemporary practise in Madrid, while gaining broader insights into how architecture is practised in Europe.

I did an on-site internship with absolute in Lisbon Portugal and it was amazing. The accommodation and facilities provided were top quality and all the activities outside the internship were extremely organised. The coordinators had also made a great match between me and my employer. I have made an amazing connections with the law firm I worked with and the students I met. I would recommend this experience to anyone !

Doing an internship with Absolute Internship this summer is the best decision I have made for my personal and professional development! I spent a month in Barcelona as a marketing intern where I was able to spend time in industry and meet amazing people from across the globe.

I heard about Absolute through a Global Opportunities session at my university. I first explored a few different companies but from the start the team at Absolute Internships was engaged and happy to answer my questions. They helped me find an amazing company to work with and helped me get ready for the trip through briefing sessions. There was a period of quiet in between being placed and gearing up to start, but it was good to know I could reach out with questions if I had any.

After landing in Barcelona and meeting the Program Coordinators I felt comfortable. It was scary to travel on my own but the transport to our accommodation was a great way to meet my fellow interns. We had a nice meal to get to know each other and a city-wide scavenger hunt in teams helped introduce us to the city at large. Our program coordinators were on hand if we had any questions, which was very reassuring. The accomodation was lovely with great facilities on site and nearby. Being able to go for a swim in the pool after working remote was very refreshing!

My internship company was a perfect match for what I wanted to gain experience in. Being able to create content to a brief and have constructive feedback at every stage really helped me feel more confident. I quickly was able to get involved in the brand and am proud of the work I delivered. Putting theory into practice has made my third year at university much more productive as I can better understand key concepts.

I could not recommend this experience enough to anyone who is interested in travelling and gaining experience in their field! Absolute Internships was the perfect summer experience and has led me to further opportunities which is improving my career.

Absolute Internship was the best way for me to get comfortable studying abroad. I had an amazing time getting to know people from around the world, seeing new landmarks, and becoming immersed in the culture of the United Kingdom. It has been great being able to have friends all around the world, I recommend Absolute to anyone who is looking to step outside their comfort zone and try something new.

I highly recommend Absolute for anyone considering an international internship experience! My internship in Lisbon, Portugal, was incredibly enriching. I made lifelong friends through work, immersed myself in Portuguese culture, and got to see countless amazing places.

Lisbon itself is a fantastic place to live and work, with its unique blend of city life, beaches, nightlife, rich history and culture, and beautiful natural scenery. The people here are warm and friendly, and I felt so welcomed everywhere I went. I wish I’d known more Portuguese before coming, but I picked up so much during my time here!

Navigating the city was easy, thanks to its excellent public transportation system, which made it simple to explore Lisbon and beyond. Absolute went above and beyond to organize cultural activities and trips, adding so much value to our stay and helping us feel at home in this amazing city.

The Absolute staff was also very accessible, always available to discuss any questions or concerns. They even organized mixers where we could connect with coordinators and fellow interns, which helped us build relationships and made our experience even more enjoyable. If you're considering an international internship, I can’t recommend Absolute and Portugal enough!
