THE WORST

THE WORST! When you encounter problems with their services, their customer care representatives assume this is a laughing matter. When an agent finally answers, they will transfer you to a different department, and the wait time will begin all over again. When you finally speak with the right representative, they assert that the problem you were experiencing has been resolved, but that the modifications won't take effect right away. I waited over 24 hours, and my problem was still unresolved. I am still experiencing the same problems after being informed that the problem had been fixed. Therefore, the website where you are supposed to sign in is incorrect. You will be given a different website to sign up for "Credit Builder Savings" on. All I have been trying to do is make a payment on my account, and after making the payment with customer support, I found out the next day that the payment had not been received. After checking my other credit card, I realized the money was never taken as customer service stated. For me, this has been the worst experience. As I finish writing my assessment of this firm, I'm still on hold. You have been warned!

A mortgage bank that lies and does not correct their mistakes

I hired an attorney to represent me with Academy Bank. The original issue included Academy Bank erroneously stating that they could fund a loan and stating it was "Clear To Close" and providing a "Closing Disclosure", thus causing me to forfeit my $50,000 earnest money. Ask your realtor or mortgage bank how common it is to have a bank back out after they have told you the above - NONE! Due to the failure of the funding Academy Bank also caused me to lose the ability to use the appraisal (they would not transfer it to a new mortgage lender) which cost $1,450 and hire an attorney. Another issue is that I approved in writing a charge up to $765 and was charged $1,450 for the appraisel. Due to their incompetence, I also lost the contract to buy the property.

Since the original contract referenced above expired, the property went back onto the market and the seller accepted an offer for $25,000 less the earlier accepted offer. Thus I got $25,000 back due to the hard work by my real estate agent.

Academy Bank and I, through my attorney, traded information concluding 8.20.21 summarizing that all the documentation supports that due to Academy Bank's incorrectly writing that the loan was "Clear To Close" and then providing "Closing Documents" (documents provided in original complaint) they have caused me to lose $29,152 that includes the earnest money, appraisal fees and legal fees. Even though they seem to agree to the math, have seen the documentation, apparently fired the loan officer I was working with, they will not pay these costs they caused. They continue to misdirect what the problem is, delay a conclusion, and focus on how confused they are and not the simple facts. It seems they don't understand standard real estate procedures, deadlines, and feel there is no such thing as a real commitment.

My strong is opinion is DO NOT USE THIS INCOMPETENT, MISLEADING, UNPROFESSIONAL MORTGAGE COMPANY - you will regret it!

NOT to be trusted ***BEWARE***

Armed Forces Bank located at 1100 Main St Ste 350 Kansas City, MO 64105 816-472-5244 has charged me TWICE in same year (2019) for an annual credit card fee. I filed 2 separate
complaints with the 'Better Business Bureau' and a Gerry Smith responded to one of those complaints which was NOT completely resolved (that is why the second complaint was filed--still waiting on response). Since then I had to visit and call the branch several times not to mention their call center is sub-contracted. The sub-contracted call center will lie to customers and in fact in a 3 days span I was on hold for 3+ hours (which at the end of the day NOTHING was accomplished but wasted time)....mine

Obviously Armed Forces Bank does NOT care about their customer nor their customer's time, so please BEWARE if you choose to do business with this entity. I really feel for ALL the miltary when they should NOT be treated like this on ANY given day. Many more complaints are being filed and will continue until a satisfied resolution.

This bank is taking money for POOR service........NOT to be trusted

Mulitple issues of mis information

I had an account with them for sadly 2 years..and occurred over 700 in fees due to multiple times being mis-informed of the policies regarding my secured credit card, as well as loans..where they didn't tell me about a fee, or made promises that they couldn't keep just to get me to apply..I finally closed my account..but not after the financial loss effected my lifestyle to the extreme..I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone.
