A very good place where to learn professional skills related to the fashion world
I completed the 4 week summer course in fashion design in Milan and could not have asked for more.
The professors were industry professionals who were very knowledgeable, passionate and ready to explain any questions I had. I managed to design an entire collection in the fours weeks, complete with a trend research booklet, sketches, technical drawings and final colour illustrations.
I was initially only interested in the fashion illustration portion of the course but with a change in my schedule, decided to enrol in the whole four weeks. This turned out to be the best choice as, although you can enrol in a singular week that covers one subject, each week builds on the previous one and you are able to experience the whole pipeline of the fashion design cycle from start to finish if you complete the previous weeks, which build a foundation for the illustration portion.
This course does not say it requires any previous experience in digital design or fine arts and the professors do adapt the teaching method to each student’s experience level, which is possible with such a small class size (we were only two students with a few others joining for just a week), but I found that my previous experience helped me a lot in getting strong results in the course. If you have never made a presentation or drawn anything before, you might require more time getting familiar with the tools and techniques and therefore your results might be different by the end of this course.
You get what you put in with this course. If you are motivated and want to get a whole collection by the end, you can achieve it, depending on your experience level, if you put in the work. If you just want to experiment and take it easy, the professors will help you with what you need but not chase after you or pressure you. It’s all up to how much you want to get out of it, which I like.
Since I was highly motivated to get my collection done, I was able to do that with the professor’s support.
I have read all negative reviews and I must say I don’t agree with them. I was not chased by the academic office to enrol after I said I had not yet decided. Everyone I spoke to was very courteous and helpful and I was given a lenient deadline for paying the course fees. Yes, the course is not cheap but for me it was the right choice for what I was looking to learn. Perhaps this is due to the location, I went to ADL in Milan but know that there are other locations across Italy.
I had a very great experience at the Milan Fashion Week Experience course..It was quite educational and enlightening.
I did however hope to have at least tea or coffee before the lunch break period later in the day.
I also would have wanted some kind of brochure outlining what to expect from the course and something to act as a document we can have as a keepsake and a referral document in the future
I didn't like that they don't help you to find a stage or a job. And it's incredible because I paid 20.000 euros for a master
Accdemia del lusso was one of the amazing experiences, I learned a lot from the course. Also, i got to try new experiences.
I’m currently taking an intensive Product Design course, and it has been incredibly valuable for my development. I’m very satisfied with the school and the overall experience
Ended my degree almost 3 years ago (sept 2022) and it was the biggest scam ever. The lowest light of all is them advertising that they will help you get an internship but then only doing so if you learn italian, as well as only providing “extra curricular” agreements whilst 98% of internships in Milan are curricular lmao, you won't be eligible for any. International students get mistreated and put on the side constantly. I liked most classes but can still say a lot of it doesn’t have actual use in the real world while they lack the actual necessary information..
I can’t even get my diploma recognized outside of Italy. Biggest scam ever
A Master's program must have at least 90 credits,e the one provided only gives 60, do the math lmao
The gaslighting was extreme
I’d give minus 10 stars if I could
I am very disappointed with this school. It does not deserve three stars. They sell a dream without making it real. The quality and the price do not match, and the staff at the school are full of ego, speak poorly to the students, and do not respect them. I spent a year at this school and I do not recommend it to anyone. All the other international students are also disappointed. For example, today, I went to class and there were no teachers for the international students. Last semester, we had classes in Italian with a translator who didn't even speak English well, and we had no documents to review for exams. I’m really disappointed in this school. Next year, I am changing schools.
I came to visit Accademia after I got accepted. It looks so cool and I can't wait to join in October!
