I am writing this review to highlight my terrible experience with Acolad regarding the [Acolad-Uber LLM] project (MSPO 1654). After regularly completing the "Data Labeling / Editor" tasks assigned to me, the entire activity was left completely suspended and in limbo for several weeks without any concrete updates.
A few days ago, as if nothing happened, I received an official email stating that the client decided to change the workflow design, deemed the approach "not sustainable," and formally closed project MSPO 1654.
The unacceptable issue here is that the communication makes absolutely no mention of the compensation due for the time and effort I dedicated to the tasks already completed on their platform (including several REWORK batches). The work was performed as requested, and the sudden closure is entirely due to the client's or Acolad's decisions, certainly not the freelancers'. It is shameful for a company of this size to dismiss professionals with a simple "thank you for your support" without settling outstanding payments.
I strongly advise against relying on this specific initiative due to its total instability and the complete lack of financial protection for workers. I expect my position to be regularized and the work I performed to be paid, as it is only fair.
Acolad, it's a translation company, that extends their translation let's use the example English to Spanish. In a sentence translated from English to Spanish they are more likely to include words in the Spanish translation that they then charged for. For example 'pongasé en contacto' would have easily been contacte. But in that sentence they would have charged for three words instead of one. All in all, when a company tries to upsell you, when you asked for a simple translation that is a cause for concern.

Case 1711298
Acolad did transcribe audio they received from the court, within 12 working days of receiving the correct audio. But I was overcharged originally for the estimated folios, which I was told any extra money would be refunded which hasn't happened yet.
But my biggest issue however is that, I informed Acolad that there were significant issues with the transcript, being that every single page doesn't match with what I remember from the hearing, and my numerous emails and JCIO complaints about the judge. So I informed Acolad whether they can provide the audio, or AS MUCH detail as they can about the audio, so I can better understand what they have received. Acolad respond by saying that they can't provide the audio as it is property of the court (HMCTS), but they remained silent on providing as much detail as they can about the audio they have transcribed.
As a result I am still left wondering if the court have sent them the wrong Audio, or if Acolad have "made up" their own version of my transcript. I have since 09/03/2026 Informed Acolad that I intend to take legal action against them, as they have overcharged me for the work, and they have either committed serious fraud or have transcribed the incorrect audio, and are being slow and inconsiderate in resolving this matter promptly.
*Edit*, as of 26/03/2026 I have received my refund for money that i overpaid when my transcript was first estimated and Acolad have responded to my legal concerns, regarding the court transcripts authenticity to the audio they have received. However, there is one final thing i request from them, for my issues with Acolad to be resolved. What stops this review from being a four star is whether they fulfil my final request and how quickly it is fulfilled.

Case number 1704863
My main issue is very slow response times when paying for 48 hour turnaround!
The 48 hours does not start by the way until you pay the firms invoice which I think is fair enough
However the firm appears to be very slow to pick up the phone when you ring them (indeed I could not get through to anyone at all!) and the response time to emails is several days at the moment
When your customers are paying for something that is billed as 48 hour turnaround this is a combination that is only going to lead to dissatisfied customers and unfavourable reviews
Edit: It’s now three weeks from the date of my initial request and so far I’ve only received a fraction of what I asked for. Customer service could/should be a lot better. That said after I made a complaint, response times from the company have improved giving me a glimmer of hope

I am trying since 3 days to have this company to transcribe a tape. they said their turnaround was 2 days but what they don't say it is that it is two days from the date they see your money on their system and allocate your matter to a transcriber. Utterly misleading. they don't answer the phone and keep saying that all their lines are engaged, they persistently fail to respond to emails, say you cannot visit their premise. I have to send the transcripts to the court and still have not heard from them. I am stuck and need to find another company otherwise I am at risk of losing my case.
Poor company. Avoid!

I ordered a transcript via Acolad (Ubiqus). I constantly had to chase them for the transcript and they have failed to re-invoice for the correct folios and make the refund i am due. They do not respond to emails and their phone line is always engaged. AVOID

Case # SDSOPHARMA-356: raised on 11.12.2024 with deadline for response on 13.12.2024 at noon (it`s related to LoD response to BDA so it`s urgent) - till today still no feedback even after escalating the case. - So is this professional? And it`s not only this case. Every case that we have raised is delayed.
If there is possibility to check less than one star - I will!
Never will recommend - after raising our cases never give timely feedback, never ready on time, always late with responses and adequate solutions for our issues. My company misses deadlines for procedure submissions because of your poor and non-professional support.

I have been working with this company for the past 2 years, as the company I work for had been using them prior to hiring me. I can understand why my company has never wanted to try anyone else when it comes to translations.
Acolad's team is so professional and prompt. In addition, they work so well under pressure and conflict management. They have been so flexible with us on our last event that had many last minute changes and helped me to find solutions for the growing challenges within my company.

Very quick at quoting double the amount and once the work was sent to the relevant Court full of mistakes (including the surnames of the case!) stopped responding to any form of communication about the refund of over half of the quote: massive rip off! So I have paid £172 for a transcript full of mistakes which I haven't got anyway and that cost about £75, absolutely disgraceful service, DO NOT USE

Firstly Ubiqus Group have tried to be so helpful especially Becky at the London Office. The problem is I am trying to find a particular part of a six week trial and roughly know the dates. I am just a mother and struggling financially and transcript is so expensive . It's took 3 goes so far and I am still not there. Financially and emotionally this is making me feel so ill. We are trying to lodge an appeal and when I send an email it takes weeks before it's resolved and it's holding us up. It seems everything feels buried and hard to get the bits you need . I will keep trying.

This is a sort of holding company that goes around buying up often high-quality translation agencies, following which they unilaterally impose pay cuts and software that is unsuitable for freelance translators, as it ties them on hands and feet. This is a good example of what happens when accountants start running a profession they don't understand, only for the purpose of squeezing more money out of hard-working decent translators. The best translators stop providing service to Acolad once they have taken over another agency, so clients using this outfit should expect low quality.
At short notice, Ubiqus delivered a very professional service and flexible and friendly delivery for our high profile international conference. Can not fault. Maybe they could have done a bit more of a hard-sell on me...and convinced me to have a wireless mic solution...which would have proved more flexible as composition of attendees changed at the last minute.
Sir i got a message on messenger from an id named "Alican Sniff" she directed me towards a project manager "Asim hyee" on telegram for project details he gave me details and i completed the project in time and contacted alican sniff she asked me to send her the completed project i first refused and asked for my payment she told me that she dont pay until received project then i sent her the completed project which was about "Halifax Central Library" then she contacted me and forward me towards a so called payment director "John morison" who asked me to deposit 9000 pkr as currency exchange fee for releasing my payment which i deposited afterwards they demanded $150 as reflecting fee so that my payment can be deposited. I am not understanding what does this procedure mean? I completed a project they should pay me if there is any fee they should deduct it from my payment, how can i trust them? I have lost my 9000 and got nothing. Sir please see this matter, i shall be very grateful to you. This 9000 may be doesn't matter for you people but it matters for me a lot.. Waiting for your kind concern.
Worked for this agency but they do not pay us. They have a history of changing their name. I would be very careful before buying qualified translation from this company.
I completed my project with alot of efforts ,spend day & night .But now they ask me for linking fee ,its not good ,first ,they should mentioned on contract about linking fee ,second they have our payment they should have to deduct from it .How can i trust on them ,i needmy payment without linking fee
