ADAGIO AMSTERDAM AMSTELVEEN

ADAGIO AMSTERDAM AMSTELVEEN
Forced out at 3am despite a prepaid 2‑adult booking!
Police intervention, stay terminated! Avoid!!

I had a prepaid reservation for 2 adults from 18–22 Feb 2026 (taxes included) - Room 4017. My partner arrived around 03:00 on 19 Feb.

Staff repeatedly knocked on my door and demanded he leave, even though the booking was for two guests. They then called the police and I was forced to leave the hotel during the night, ending up outside in the cold. I don’t speak Dutch (and very limited English), which made the situation extremely distressing.

Before the police arrived, an employee accused me of being an escort. I am a transgender woman and experienced this as humiliating and alarming.

The stay was terminated and I had to return home urgently. I strongly do not recommend this property

Adagio Roma

Adagio Roma: A Costly Disappointment

Our recent stay at Adagio Roma was a stark reminder that a high price tag ($500) doesn't always guarantee quality. The constant noise disturbances, reminiscent of a construction site rather than a moderate hotel, made it impossible to relax or sleep.

The hotel's lackluster response to our complaints was equally disappointing. The hotel manager's dismissive attitude and failure to address the issue promptly were inexcusable. Such poor customer service is simply unacceptable, especially from a hotel charging premium rates.

We strongly advise potential guests to reconsider their choice and opt for a hotel that values both comfort and customer satisfaction.

Shame on You

Shame on You, Adagio la Defense Courbevoie

I am posting this review to warn others about my HORRIBLE experience with Adagio hotel and Agoda. I encourage you to think twice before booking here.

I had planned a trip to Paris from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In order for me to get a travel visa, it was required that I have a reservation at a hotel. I attempted to reserve a room at this hotel, but I mistakenly clicked on a non-cancellable reservation. I misread the page and thought it was for a free cancellation I had already booked on Agoda, for the same times, same city.

I was horrified when I realized what had happened but it got much worse. I contacted Agoda and informed the hotel (by agoda messenger) IMMEDIATELY to explain that I had made a mistake. Agoda understood that it was a wrong click and I have 2 booking of 2 hotels as the same time, same city which is Adagio booking just 5' after the first book. Agoda confrimed they will contact hotel to explain and hope the hotel can help to cancel it.
But they REFUSED to even consider my request to refund even a part of the $516 USD for the stay. It was bad enough that they refused my pleas and have some sympathy for my situation, but both the agent I spoke with and the hotel manager LITERALLY LAUGHED AT ME on the phone. I was TERRIBLY UPSET at this treatment and was literally in tears. Bad enough to have $516 USD taken from me, but to be laughed at by the agent and manager was unconscionable.

No wonder this hotel gets a 1.7 star rating (out of 5) on Trustpilot.

Agoda was also unable to accommodate even a partial refund for me. And because of the long processing time to get a visa in Vietnam, I was unable to use the reservation.
I informed them 5' after I had the wrong click, it was 16 days before the booking day, I emailed and called them a few times (all before the booking date) and tried to ask for a solution or a small refund but they just said even they know I couldn't come, I had a mistake on clicking, that the policy so they will follow, the owner told them to tell me the answer will always NO.
Now, still 2 days before the booking date, I called but couldn't meet any one and they irnorge my email.

Bottom line: Yes, I made a clicking error, but to be treated with SO LITTLE RESPECT and SO LITTLE COMPASSION is shameful. Frankly, $516 USD is a huge amount of money for someone from Vietnam. I was shocked that there couldn’t be even a hint of a compromise for a technical error I made and tried to correct immediately.

SHAME on all of you at Adagio City and Agoda for creating such a distressing situation for me. I truly hope other travelers remember this when they consider this hotel.

Disgusted with our experience!!

I have already made a formal complaint and am awaiting a response! (Edinburgh)

When we booked, we had the impression and the apartment was advertised as a “fully serviced kitchen”. Before the room was ready, we went to Tesco and Sainsbury’s to get our groceries for our trip to then find out we did not have a fully serviced kitchen, we had no oven, a microwave that sparked and was unsafe, a dishwasher that would not work (later found out we had to slam it shut forcefully).

The fridge was left off and had to cool down, which meant our chicken was no longer safe to eat and wasted.

Our other food was wasted when we could no longer use the microwave and had no oven. As a result, we had to order food (wasting spent money and food and spending money we did not want to spend).

The room was dirty, corners of the room dusty and not cleaned properly. The shower was filthy with mould and we were given stained towels!!!!

We were given a room with a broken shower, in two places.

Once I had expressed these concerns, we were given a set of new towels, one of which was ripped to pieces!!

We were offered a breakfast voucher but this quite frankly is not acceptable - the breakfast was something we hadn’t wasted and were able to have (had already bought and didn’t want to waste).

When asking to speak to a manager (I spoke to someone at the desk who I am unsure was the manager), she kept interrupting me and not letting me talk. I expressed that she needed to let me talk and her attitude was unacceptable. She did not once apologise until I had told her how she was communicating with me was unacceptable and she SHOULD be apologising for our experience.

On top of this, on the first night of our stay I returned to the aparthotels to Stacey (wearing a green top on the evening of the 6th) shouting at a fellow colleague (Issac). This is completely unacceptable, no one should ever be disrespected or shouted at in any environment, they should be shown respect. Additionally, no customer should ever witness this!! It made my experience feel unwelcoming and uncomfortable. If a colleague does something wrong, a polite word should be appropriate away from customers NOT shouting in front of customers!!

we are currently staying at one of…

we are currently staying at one of Adagio hotels near Disney paris, adagio aparthotel val D'Europe, we are really upset over the cleaning situation over here . Fresh dirty sheets , poor mangement, and no communication between the staff .

We where told that we have one day of cleaning , during our stay.

We booked the cleaning day, and asked them afterwards on the day that they could confirmed our booking , and they said yes.

They didnt clean our room and we had to go down again to ask why, they said they will make sure they will do it today.

We got fresh dirty sheets that we could change.

I asked if they old pick up the dirty sheets but no one came .

They told us today that we have no cleaning to our room since we are staying less then 8 days , and it was a mistake on the staff members to have told us that .

Now we have fresh dirty sheets to sleep in and some rude staff members who dont know what to do.
I asked the staff members of they would sleep in these sheets , and they said no and walked away from us .

We travel to France and stay for a long time as well ,but we wont be picking Adagio hotel near Disney again or tell anyone to stay her.

The staff is not trained well , they dont have a manager to talk to.

People use their hard earned money on vacation to have a relaxing time, but this was absolutely disgusting.!

Dire customer service. Very disappointing communication.

Dire customer service and communication. Half a dozen emails later and several calls - support not received. Unhappy with the whole experience. Having travelled the world and experienced professional support it is fair to say that they don’t put the customer, or customer needs first, nor exercise management discretion with viable solutions. Yet will happily take your money for a stay, but not support after this. 2023 and in the UK, frustrating and hugely disappointing.

Adagio Customer Service doesn't always apply to people of Colour

My mom had an issue with the cleaning staff and how they went about cleaning. Rather than treat us like customers, the manager took it upon himself to attack us and not only did he throw a fit in my mom who was on the floors above. he came down and decided to threaten my sibling saying they should leave, my sibling are aged 8 and 10. He doesn't come to us to reason or find out what is going on. He comes aggressively saying my mom had agreed to kick my little siblings out. I tell him I will not be confirming such buzz that sounds outrageous. He kept pushing us to agree to kick out a 10 and 8 yr old. After I told him to talk to my mom, he proceeded to speak to my brother with the same aggressive tone. my brother told him to speak to my mom. Then out of anger I told him, his behaviour was quite French of him. He did not tell me he was French, im just well travelled enough to know what an angry French man sounds like. I might be wrong for that but the way he had thrown a tantrum earlier when I had came upstairs, then he later came down to harass me and my little siblings. As a man I felt a way when a grown man tries to make kids an issue, what makes you feel so comfortable trying to kick out kids. I went to the reception and the other guy hearing I said it was very French of him, felt the need to tell me he too was French and was offended. he told me that his colleague was trying to get to the solution. I explained to him that he came to us aggressively claiming that my mom said she was vacate of an 8 yr old and a 10 yr old. And wanted us to agree to this, which we didn't and told him to speak to our mom. I guess as black ppl we can't complain about a hotel/apartment we paid thousands of £ to live in.

Plenty of room for racism

If you are black, love racism, love being treated like criminals, bad customer service and would like to be asked about your immigration status, and have ppl threaten to call the police on you whilst paying large sums of money. Adagio is the place for you. If you love hostile hotel workers attacking and questioning you, you have the right place

Please avoid at all cost!
If you were there for holiday or business, you don’t wanna be standing in front of the reception listening to them gossiping other travellers/ their colleagues, oh, they call it hand-over thou!
Hence, I booked two rooms, one without lighting and the other without air conditioning and fridge was not working, when I asked for a hair dryer, I was told there’s none because it’s an apartment hotel, dun expect they have anything you need, or so I was told

Appalling customer service

I asked them to waive the cancellation fee for a booking of 2 nights because I was deployed to respond to the Sudan crisis, to help people affected by war to survive. Pretty exceptional circumstances. And they said no. A cold-hearted, I-don’t-give-a-damn, all-that-matters-is-money no. Appalling.

Helped them stay in business - then they stole my money

Booked a room at Hipark in Nice for April 2020. Covid hit. Hotel emails me and asks me not to take a refund (which I could have done), but to delay my stay until it is safe to travel. This would help them stay in business. I reluctantly agreed. Fast forward to when it is safe to travel and my wife is very ill, so I let them know we can't come yet. Emailed them at the beginning of this year to make sure they are still honouring our agreement. This is when they started giving us the runaround. Ignored emails; when they did respond they claimed they couldn't find any details; then they asked am I sure it is the right hotel??! When I sent emails, they said they would pass it onto the correct department (even gave me a reference to use in any correspondence - ADAGIO - 190481-1662041114), but nobody got back to me. Tried phoning a few times but strangely the Front Desk Manager was always away when I did, and never returned any calls. I asked Booking.com to help as I'd used them to book. They phoned them and were told sorry, it's too late now. I asked who they'd spoken to and was given the name of the FDM. I immediately phoned them to be told he'd finished for the day and to try again at 7am the next day.
All I wanted was to go on the holiday that I paid for. I realised it may have gone up in price but I was willing to pay the difference. We wanted to come in October to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary, but we have now had to book another hotel.
I'd advise others when booking hotels to look elsewhere as a company willing to do this are certainly not trustworthy

Adagio City Aparthotel Vienna

Stayed in Sept 2021 on floor 11. The room was very clean and comfortable and had a small kitchen area which had everything you could need to make a good meal. It also had brush and dustpan, hoover, iron board & iron plus hair drier so you had to ask for nothing. The decor was pleasant and the bathroom spotless and modern. We had a good view of the city, although beware some ceilings in the rooms on floor 11 (the top floor) do slope. The customer service we received at this hotel means I have to rave about it. Arrived very late and needed tea and night receptionist kindly got me teabags and milk from the kitchen. Had to cut our holiday short, due to a bereavement and Martina was brilliant. All staff friendly, happy and professional and the hotel is well run. It doesn't take long to walk to sights so location good. Couple of supermarkets handy to hotel also. Would highly recommend it and will stay there again when I next visit Vienna.

Bad Customer Care

I have stayed at the Monte Cristo hotel at Monaco twice before and always had a good experience, so I am a regular and loyal customer. I booked for a third time and unfortunately the external booking website I used turned out to be a scam and stole my money. Luckily I got that back via the credit card. This scam website was not the fault of Adagio except to say they should perhaps be more careful which websites they deal with. So then it just came to re-booking the room directly with the hotel - which was MY room that had been booked via the other website and was now free. But this is where I hit the disappointing customer care from Adagio. Given what had happened, given you would think Adagio would take some responsibility because they were dealing with the scam website to sell their rooms and also given I was a loyal, regular customer you would think they would just resell me the same room i.e. my room for the SAME price it had previously been booked at. Surely that would be good customer care and morally the right thing to do? But oh no! They decided to let me have the room if I wanted it for nearly DOUBLE the original price booked. Their excuse was that the hotel was nearly full - even though subsequently lots of rooms are appearing online again. But in any case the room they had was MY room which had been released by the scam website. The hotel manager was not able to do anything on her system so I spoke to Patrick in head office in Paris who claimed to be the Customer Service Manager for the whole of Adagio although he seemed to have no authority or any wish to agree to match my original booking price. Very much a case of computer says no - even though you would think someone in authority could make the decision to price match if they wanted to. Human beings can make decisions! But in this case I was very disappointed that given everything that happened to me Adagio were not prepared to do the decent thing to show good customer care and re-book the same room for me at the same price. The Managing Director of Adagio should take note how Patrick and their customer service department failed to provide a fair response in this case. It felt like Adagio were just trying to take advantage of the scam website going broke to nearly double the price of the same room for the same customer! If the website had not gone broke they would have been left with the original booking price anyway so I did expect them to honour the same conditions. If nothing goes wrong then you will have a good stay here but be warned if you fall victim to any kind of problem or fraud with the booking then the Adagio customer service department will offer you no care or help in response.
