Zero responsibility for manufacturing defects – Adidas and JD Sports looping customers

I bought a pair of Adidas shoes from JD Sports that developed a clear manufacturing defect after only a few uses. Instead of honoring the 2-year 'Reklamationsret' under Danish law, both companies are playing a game of 'ping-pong.' Adidas tells me to talk to JD, and JD refuses to help.
As a manufacturer, Adidas should stand behind its quality. It is unacceptable that an authorized retailer blocks the warranty process and the brand does nothing. I have evidence of the defect and the refusal of both parties to comply with EU consumer rights. Extremely disappointed

Dårlig oplevelse

2"}
I am very disappointed with my experience with adidas customer service.

I purchased a pair of children's football boots (Order number: ADK90481433). The shoes were used only once and caused a wound on my son's foot. I contacted adidas only a few days after receiving the product and provided photo documentation.

Initially, adidas approved my complaint and offered several solutions, including exchange or refund. I followed their instructions and returned the shoes.

However, after receiving the return, adidas suddenly rejected the complaint and decided to send the shoes back to me, even though I clearly informed them that I had filed a complaint with the consumer protection authority and did not want the case closed.

The package was sent to an incorrect address without confirming the delivery details with me. As a result, the package was lost and I never received the shoes.

After more than a month of communication, my case was simply closed without any resolution.

This has been a very frustrating experience and unfortunately I did not receive any help despite providing documentation and following all instructions.

Refund refused despite parcel being returned – misleading information from adidas

I have had a very disappointing experience with adidas customer service.

A parcel was sent to a selected parcel shop, but it was never delivered. The tracking clearly showed that the shipment was mis-sorted and later registered as a return to Lübeck, Germany – meaning it was not handed over to me or to the pickup location at all.

Despite this clear evidence, adidas repeatedly rejected my refund request with incorrect claims such as:

• that a “shipping confirmation email” equals proof of delivery
• that an internal terminal scan from the carrier means the parcel was delivered

Both statements are factually wrong. There was no parcel shop delivery scan, no pickup code, and no proof of handover to the customer. The parcel had already been returned to adidas’ logistics hub in Germany.

The most frustrating part was the communication. I received standard copy-paste replies that ignored the actual tracking history. Only after escalating the case through the German adidas website and support channel did the matter start to be reviewed properly. The initial customer service provided misleading information and closed the case without valid grounds.

Because of this handling, I have lost all trust in adidas’ approach to customers when issues arise, and I will no longer purchase adidas products.

New design looks fake

When it comes to tracksuits, socks and shoes adidas was my go to ever since I can remember! But now they have stupidly changed the design of their legendary 3 stripes to a much thicker stripes, they no longer appeal to me. Not only does it look cheap but also looks like fakes! Unfortunately because of the stubborn person I am i will no longer buy anything adidas. Looks like just nike from now on

Don’t buy Adidas directly from Adidas

As someone who loves Adidas as a brand and rarely wear anything but Adidas, it sucks to write this review, because Adidas is to me what Taylor Swift is to Swifties 🫠 But unfortunately their customer service (and app/website) is just an abomination to the brand itself.

On the 14th of July, I ordered a white top and today, on the 17th of July, it was delivered. I already have the same top in black, so I knew it would be a perfect fit and really looked forward to receive it! The joy of receiving my new top was short lived tho, cause as soon as I opened the package, I saw makeup stains on the top and when inspecting the item further, also realized that it had multiple piss-yellow streaks all over the back. I contacted their customer service through the chat right away, because I knew I would have to return it, but of course didn’t want to be hold accountable for the discoloration and stains, which I have no clue how Adidas could have missed, if they truly inspect returned items. Customer service assured me that they would note it in the system and I should just return it - so far, so good.

I went to the return page and saw the option to raise an issue, so I chose that option and finished the process. Then got a message saying I should just show the return label on my phone and return it at a parcel should, but .. no return label to be seen? Nothing in app, nothing received on e-mail, no returnlabel included in the parcel?

So I contacted the customer service again and they sent me the return label on e-mail and asked if I got it. Went to check my e-mails and yes, I got a return label, but it’s one that needs to be printed and cannot be shown on the phone, so went back to the app and .. I was kicked off the chat, because I briefly left the app, which Adidas doesn’t allow you to do, when you have a chat with them. That seems ridiculous when you might need to find an order number or something else they might ask you for? 🤨 Opened a new chat, had to explain the problem again and raised a concern about the returlabel I was sent, because I know this cannot just be shown on the phone and the parcelshop will need a QR-code for them to print the label. Customer service assured me it was okay and I could just show the label on my phone, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went to the parcelshop with my parcel and phone. To no surprise, the parcelshop told me that they cannot print the label from the label on the phone, because they would need a .. QR-code! 🫠 Scanning the label Adidas sent me, can only mark the parcel as shipped, but the parcel then wouldn’t have a label and I obviously cannot (and will not) just tape my phone to the parcel 🤡 So I went home again and contacted customer service once again.

In between the previous and the next, there’s a few chats that doesn’t seem to go through and a call where I was just hung up on, but then I finally got through while calling and explained the whole thing once again, stating that I needed a QR-code for the parcelshop to print the label and that they cannot use the full label on my phone, cause that is not how PostNord works. The customer service representative told me she would sent me another returnlabel on e-mail and I once again stated to her, that I do not need the actual return label, but a QR-code for the parcelshop to print it. She then asked me to wait for a moment, went silent and then .. call was ended 🫠

I called again, got another representative and explained the whole thing again, for what already felt like the 37th time, but after some back and forth, it seemed like she actually understood the problem and solution. While still on the call, I received an e-mail from Adidas, which I assume was from the previous representative and it was just the same label I already had, so once again, I made sure with the current representative that we were on the same page and she assured me that she would send a QR-code, but it might take 10-15 minutes before I receive the e-mail. Fair enough, I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t have to call or message them again for a ninth time, which she laughed about and assured me I wouldn’t. Unfortunately, I can assure you she was wrong 🤡

After waiting for one and a half hour, still having received absolutely nothing from Adidas, I went to the chat again .. explained the whole thing again, including the fact that I already went to the parcelshop and home again, for what now feels like the amount of times the Bible has ever been mentioned by Donald Trump. The representative seemed a bit more understanding, but after some back and forth, they sent me en e-mail with another return label and no QR-code (checked this on the iPad, to not get kicked). Explained again that I need a QR-code and they said they got what I meant now and would sent it after chat ended. Then kicked me off the chat and now an hour later .. still NOTHING! 🫠 Wasted 5 hours and still no solution!

I am furious.

I am furious.
Never in my life have I encountered such disgraceful customer service. I returned a pair of boxing shoes over 6 months ago, and I still haven’t received my refund. I’ve called 35 times – yes, thirty-five – and every time I get the same nonsense: empty promises, hold music hell, or “we’ll get back to you”… which never happens.

This isn’t just incompetence – this feels like deliberate fraud. Adidas has taken my money and washed their hands of all responsibility. When a billion-dollar company refuses to refund a single loyal customer, something is deeply broken.

I’ve filed a complaint with the consumer ombudsman and will pursue legal action if this is not resolved within days.

👉🏼 Never order directly from Adidas' online store. It’s risky, unreliable, and apparently void of basic consumer rights.
I feel cheated, ignored, and utterly disrespected.

Shame on you, Adidas.

Adidas didn't accept my return because…

Adidas didn't accept my return because they say my items smells at parfums. If I have parfum on me,why is my fault? I need to make shower first then to check the items,or what?
How can I used the items if is too big for me? Because of this I make return, because is too big for me. The size is M and I need XS,not even S,because is too bigger for me. So how can I used? Stupid rules and company, but in fact this is Denmark.

Missing item from package

I made an order, a pair of shoes, 2 beanies and a pair of gloves. When I received the package, the pair of gloves was missing from the box, and after multiple phone calls with Adidas support, they said they cannot do anything about it!!!!

Got socks instead of sneakers

We bought a pair of sneakers for 999 kr, paid extra for express delivery, and received… a pair of socks instead.

We called customer service, who explained that we needed to send the socks back in order to get the sneakers we had paid for. When I asked if they were serious—that Adidas would only send us the shoes we already paid for after we returned the socks—the conversation was abruptly ended.

After sending the socks back, we waited a few days, but no sneakers arrived. So we called customer service again. This time, we got someone whose English was almost unintelligible. He told us we needed to cancel the order and place a new one. After several minutes of back-and-forth, he finally understood that we had already returned the socks. He then explained that, in cases like this, it would take another 14 days to receive the correct order.

WTF! If I could, I’d give this experience a -5-star rating. Horrible service: customer agents who hang up on you, others who can barely communicate, and instead of express delivery, we’re stuck waiting for weeks. All we got was a “sorry for the inconvenience.”

It’s not an inconvenience—it’s unacceptable!

Adidas has a customer service that is…

Adidas has a customer service that is completely lacking in professional customer service skills. Adidas customer service is a low-skilled bunch of people whose goal is not to help adidas customers but to make every effort to ensure that adidas customers never receive any help.

Disappointing post sales customer service

- Website is faulty for CX with so many bugs.
- Customer service whatsapp doesnt work
- Customer service call center doesnt work
- No email available
- Website Live chat doesnt work
- No way for customer to reach Adidas to request for exchange. The only way to reach them is to scream for attention on social media
- they dont have a dedicated instagram page either and its been 4 hours since my social media outreach
Forcefully I have to arrange for Return by dropping the products to a store

I will be very careful in choosing my products because of such bad customer service.

Terrible customer service

The customer service is absolutely pathetic. I bought a pair of shoes and ordered it as a "click and collect" from Pilestræde. I then wanted to return the shoes because they were bad quality, but it turns out the only way to do so is with a store return.

This isn't possible anymore as the store at Pilestræde has closed down, and now they want me to make an over 1 hour journey to Taastrup to return it. I have tried reasoning with customer service to either send me a label for the return or at least allow me to send it to their Taastrup store via post, all of which was denied. No one seems to want to ask about what the issue is or if a sensible solution can be reached, only kept being offered 20-30% off vouchers, which are of course not going to cover the 1500 DKK loss I sit at with the terrible shoes I have.

I will never again buy anything from Adidas.
