A beautiful and sustainable beautiful boutique hotel in Samos
We had a wonderful two-week day at Aegean Stories. Aegean Stories is a sustainable hotel that focuses on keeping its environmental footprint small by using solar solutions for its rooms’ climate controls and water systems as well as providing sustainable personal hygiene products.
The charming proprietors, Christos and Maria, are also the hosts of this beautiful boutique hotel. They immediately make you feel welcome and at home. They have a small boutique dedicated to local artisans and a drinks room service that includes soft drinks, delicious specialty coffees, delightful local craft beers and wines. Maria created some fantastic cocktails, and sipping one of these on a lounge bed on the beach makes for a wonderful holiday feeling. Christos is invaluable in answering inquiries about the room and things to do on the island of Samos. While he was always available to us at the hotel reception (which seemed to be from dawn to dusk), when he was not, he provided us with his phone number so we could SMS him any questions that we may have. He’s probably among the most delightful and helpful hotel hosts I’ve ever met
Our ground-floor room, which was located next to the beach, had a wonderful kitchenette, a beautiful bathroom, and a fantastic furnished patio. The view of the sea is breathtaking. And three wonderful restaurants are not very far down the beach from the hotel. We fell in love with the outstanding restaurant Kosmos, which, while simple in its dining area and wine selection, cooked and served incredibly delicious and fresh local cuisine every time we visited.
Every morning, Sofia (the head of housekeeping) treated us to fresh local pastries. Sofia is very helpful and friendly. She and her staff made our bed, cleaned our room, and washed our dishes daily. This all added to our enjoyment of our stay. We can highly recommend Aegean Stories as the place to stay when visiting Samos!
