I decided to go to the Kruger Park very spontaneously for 4 days.
Claire from African Budget Safaris was really helpful for planning my trip and giving advice on what to do and what to bring.
Everything from transport to game drives and meals was really organized and the staff in the camp was very friendly.
The game drives were in open vehicles and we were lucky to see all Big 5 already on the first day. Our guides always gave many Information about the wildlife.
I also went on the Panorama Tour, which was also very well organised and with a very nice guide. It's definitely worth it!
The meals were always with the whole group which was a nice atmosphere. We always had a quick breakfast in the morning before the game drive and Brunch afterwards. Before the afternoon Safari snacks were offered and in the evening a delicious dinner with traditional meals.
I can highly recommend booking witb african budget Safari! I had a really great time in the Kruger Park.

Booking my safari tour with African Budget Safaris was one of the best decisions made for my trip to South Africa. The process for the booking was seamless and the agent, Claire, was extremely helpful in answering all my queries and concerns. She took time to understand my budget and expectations and she exceeded all my expectations. The stay at Tydon Bush and Safari Camp was wonderful as we got to meet many welcoming rangers and guides who were eager to share their passion with us. Through their passion, we managed to see the big five. All in all, I am happy that ABS has helped me to gain many wonderful memories.

My husband and I recently returned from a 5 week trip to Africa, including a 20 day Nomad Cape to Vic Falls safari. Earlier in the year we came across African Budget Safaris on the net and started corresponding with Claire. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her responses to our many enquiries were prompt. Thanks to Claire, our trip came together very easily and went without any problems, and exceeded our expectations. African Budget Safaris went above and beyond to make sure that our trip was a memorable one. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking at travelling in Africa and living in another country is not an issue (we live in Australia), as communication is great. We will definitely contact African Budget Safaris again, next time we travel to Africa. Thank you Claire for all of your help and for making this a truly memorable trip.

My mother and I couldn’t be happier with the Safari we arranged through Claire at African Budget Safaris! We stayed at the Klaserie River Safari Lodge, did a full day drive at Kruger (shout out to Hermann!), and morning and evening drives in a Thorneybush Reserve (shout out to Charlie!)! We felt extremely lucky with our animal 🦒 sightings! And our accommodations and food were fantastic too 👍🏻! I highly recommend working with Claire to plan your African adventure: She was a pleasure to work with: passionate, positive, extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and so well mannered!

Claire and the team at African Budget Safari's service exceed my expectations on all fronts. At first I was reluctant about booking my tour prior to arriving, and happy I secured a spot on the Bush Camp. With concerns, honest insight and made best use of time, Claire was helpful and truthful through the whole process.
I ended up booking Sabi Sand Tydon Safari Bush Camp. I had the experience of my life. The camp and accommodations were great, gained weight as a picky eater. The staff, guide (Dirkle, I hope I got it right) and the team where A1 on all fronts. The photos captured over the 3 days in the camp are Nat Geo quality. Do it right, spend the extra $ and plan on a awesome adventure.

Our experience with African Budget Safaris was wonderful. Claire helped us plan our trip and patiently and efficiently helped work out some of the little details of our before and after accomodations. We spent three weeks in South Africa. Only the last week of our trip was with African Budget Safaris, at the Klaserie River Lodge, and it was the best part of our whole trip. The guides are amazing and the staff were friendly and helpful and lots of fun. Our little riverside house was cute and comfortable and located with the balcony on the Klaserie River with Vervet monkeys scampering about everywhere and Nyala antelope visiting to munch on the trees. It was a splendid and adventurous week spent there and I would recommend it to everyone with no hesitation. Loved it!!!! Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

A STELLAR, INCOMPARABLE safari organizing experience. Thank you, thank you for your patience, dedication and hard work in making this last-minute decision a reality. After two months of volunteer work in Africa I had limited time (and budget) to myself before departing back to the states. Claire from African Budget Safaris guided me to a four-day camping safari weekend at Kruger National Park with Outlook Safaris. I have memories to last a lifetime and wildlife knowledge that now extends beyond marine life. Outlook was incredibly well-managed, and the sightings in Kruger National Park unreal and like out of a childhood dream. My biggest regards to you, Claire, and Africa Budget Safaris. Cheers!

From the first contact I had with Claire, the company representative I had a feeling that I was in hands, It was a family trip consisted from 15 people aged 7-70, she studied our expectations and adjusted the trip according. She paid attention to details, our two weeks in Cape Town, Garden Route and Kruger is an unforgatable experience.

I had an absolute fantastic time! The outlook safaris crew was excellent. Food was good, and the staff were a ball of a time! Loved them. Fun bunch of guys!
I opted for the panaroma tour, but unfortunately it was really foggy and we were not able to see anything at god’s window.. neither were we able to see the canyons due to riots on the road!
Overall, I would highly recommend outlook tours to anyone! Tiaan (my guide) was a gem, and made the safari that much more enjoyable. Thank you as well Claire, for your excellent customer service!

Claire Mosnon was a Star! Went far beyond the call of duty to make my trip an absolute joy. Checking in to see how my trip was at the start, middle and end.
Great example of outstanding customer service.
I can not advise African Budget Safaris enough. Hope to deal with Claire again soon!

Exceptional booking service & an incredible trip! I have been singing ABS’ praises to everyone I meet and it is a pleasure to be able to do so online as well… I HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking a trip to Africa through ABS!
I put a lot of effort into researching options for my mother-daughter ‘bucket list’ birthday trip to Southern Africa, and had been corresponding with a number of different booking agencies and tour providers in the planning phase. I stumbled onto ABS’ site and was impressed at the tour/package offerings, which combined a variety of experiences not just with animals, but with people and places too, all beautifully described. The prices seemed too good to be true (compared to the other quotes I’d received) and I was a little skeptical at first… but all that changed when I started corresponding with Claire. I had a special feeling from the get-go about working with her, and am eternally grateful that I did!
Claire was friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, accommodating & non-pressuring, and seemed to truly grasp what it was I was hoping to do and see with my mother. She put together the pieces of our ‘African adventure puzzle’ brilliantly, shared in my excitement, and put such care into ensuring that we were well taken care of on our trip. She even arranged for birthday celebrations at the camps, and corresponded with my husband back in Canada to arrange a birthday surprise for me and Mom on the last day of our trip. Talk about going above & beyond!
My Mom & I were so pleased with the providers booked via ABS – the staff was knowledgeable & professional, the accommodations were clean & comfortable, and everything ran as planned, without a hitch! I’ve travelled a lot and know how rare that can be… it’s particularly impressive considering we had a number of different tours, safaris and providers in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana.
My expectations were exceeded on all fronts and I won’t hesitate to book my next trip to the continent via ABS, or to recommend the company (and Claire!) to others. Thank you so much, Claire!!!

During the planning of my trip to Africa I didn't exactly deal with Claire directly, my aunty and mum took on the role of organiser (I just sat back and handed them my money :P) but from what I could see Claire was always efficient in replying to all our enquiries, she was always professional and helpful too. Going through African Budget Safaris made our trip a whole lot easier, couldn't have done it without them.

Exceptional service from start to finish. Claire responded promptly to all our queries and created a memorable itinerary for our trip to Victoria Falls. Our experience exceeded all expectations and we will definitely consider using African Budget Safaris for our next adventure in Africa.

This safari was great to see some of Namibia, Botswana and Victoria Falls. The guides were very professional and friendly, I felt safe and comfortable with them. Our assistant made good food.
The camping was easy and the guides help set up the tents. The campsites all had satisfactory toilets and showers and the sites themselves were nice especially Guma Lagoon at the Okavango Delta. We did fun activities throughout the safari such as canoeing at the Okavango delta and a game drive at Chobe National Park.
I would book through this company again. Claire was very helpful and really friendly, such a pleasure to deal with.

Had an amazing with ABS. Elephant Plains was amazing and it was a trip of a lifetime. Would have expected to pay 30x what I did for the experience. Highly recommend. Claire was amazing. Thank you! Will be back.

African budget tours were great. Their website is really good, having lots of different tour companies combined on one site makes choosing so much easier. Also we found Claire very knowledgeable and found that of all the people on our tour we seemed to be the best informed.
We had a couple of people complaining about the distances travelled in one day but we felt we understood the route and the alternative routes, so were happy that we had chosen the route and how many days it would take so the distances travelled in one day was a matter of maths. Other people didn't seem to realise that other tour companies went alternative routes, (once again the beauty of having several tour companies on the one site and a good agent ie African Budget Safaris). Also we understood we were booked on a mixed accommodated/camping tour whereas some of the younger ones on our tour had been told it was just a camping tour and were disappointed that it was mixed with the 'accommodated' travellers (translate that as people in the 40+ age bracket)- so once again we were better informed.
The only thing I wasn't aware of until the final confirmations came through was that African Budget Safaries are only agents for other tour companies and don't actually conduct the tours themselves. However in the end it worked in our favour because they were so much more informative than the New Zealand travel agents who as it turns out did sell the same trips but were totally lacking in knowledge. Doing the booking from New Zealand was just done on credit card with absolutely no problems and really the biggest problem was working around our 11 hour time difference. However Clare was very accommodating with the time difference and would reply to my emails first thing in her morning so that I would get her emails in my evening.
In the end the tour we were booked on was a Nomad tour which I would thoroughly recommend. They were great. We took the Accommodated option, and our daughter was on the camping option and we were perfectly happy with both of the options, and for us it was great finding a company that mixed and matched like that.

I ran across African Budget Safaris as I was planning solo trip from my home in Northern California to South Africa for the first time. Friends who had gone on safaris in South Africa insisted that I take one in the Kruger National Park (game reserve) area, a five hour drive or one hour flight from Johannesburg . They gave me two recommendations based on where they stayed to follow up on. When I contacted both places, the room rates (in March) where pretty expensive I thought. One of the reasons was that they charged almost the same rate for me as a single person as they did for a couple. I kept looking on the internet and came across African Budget Safaris and found that they had a wide variety of choices for safaris and single person rates seemed quite reasonable compared to what I had already been quoted, so I read their reviews , looked at their website, and contacted them by email.
As has been mentioned in the reviews, their staff is wonderful to work with, particularly if you have never been on to Africa on a safari before. I had Claire as my contact and she was terrific. They have an amazing variety of safaris to choose from. Claire patiently answered all my questions about their various options until we found one that seemed perfect for the time I had to spend. The booking process was relatively smooth and I had detailed information about every aspect of the safari I had selected.
I opted to fly to Johannesburg and be picked up at my hotel in the morning and driven up to the Kruger area in the van and I'm glad I did. It was an easy and enjoyable ride with a stop for lunch on the way up (and back) in the scenic town of Dullstroom. I stayed at two different lodges and both were welcoming with adequate dining and overnight accommodations. The game drives were by experienced and knowledgeable drivers. They answered every question and did their best to find all the various 'Big 5' animals. The Lion eluded us, but I saw and photographed the Rhino, Elephant, Giraffe, and Hippo. My fellow travelers were a young and international group who were easy to be around. On the way back to Johannesburg we stopped at Blyde River Canyon which was astounding. 5th largest canyon in the world I am told.
My only regret was not being able to book a longer time, as they suggested before hand.

After a hectic few weeks to start off my time in South Africa, I couldn't have picked a better way to really see the country and pack it full of adventure. African Budget Safaris offered so many different experiences, and I don't believe by picking any single one, that I'd have picked wrong. I had the time of my life on my 6 day Cape-to-Addo Safari adventure! Claire (our correspondent), was a great help in making sure what I could add on an extra passenger on to the same trip as me, as well as making sure we were well prepared and were all set to go on the departure date. If I would recommend doing anything in South Africa, I would recommend letting these guys take you around and do as much as you can with the time you have with them!!
