Claire at African Budget Safaris was the best tour agent anyone could wish for. Due to COVID our trip was delayed a year! During that time Claire kept in touch with updates and answered every question I had quickly and clearly.

At one point it looked like the tour would be canceled, so Claire set up and entire tour that was the same price, and hit all the highlights we wanted (Massai Maru game drive, Gorillas, chimps, and so much more). She did this on her own and we discussed it for a while (to fit in with my airplane reservations) but when the original tour was confirmed we were all set.

Claire stayed in touch during the tour as well, providing a way to contact her 24/7. And along the way while we were on the tour she inquired about how we were doing and any issues we might have faced. Luckily, there were none.

All-in-all it was a fabulous safari and Claire was instrumental in making it so. I can't recommend her enough!

Where to begin? What a brilliant brilliant trip. My wife and I came to Africa on honeymoon and we left everything in the hands of African Budget Safaris. We were helped every step of the way by their brilliant agent Claire. She gave us complete peace of mind and left no stone unturned. Phenomenal!! What else can be said. Working with African Budget Safaris (and specifically with our agent Claire) was without question one of the best travel experiences I have ever encountered. Both Claire and the company went out of their way time and time again to assist us in every possible way, making our 21 day Safari one of the most rewarding experience of my life. After an amazing safari in Tanzania and Kenya, since everything was perfect and super organized, we have decided to use ABS services for a tour in Namibia.
Once again Claire (and Bromwyn as well) has been super in organizing the best possible travel despite the current pandemic situation.
She is always well prepared to assist in any organizational question and support for pre-travel burocracy.
Finally the ratio Quality-Price of ABS is for me unique for what concern travel in Africa.
I will recommend them to any person would approach Africa for his next travel.
We are now so addicted that most probably we will organize a 3rd travel in 2022.

Claire Monson was amazing, guided me through the whole process of booking Safari plans first in South Africa, but because of COVID, she shifted out focus to Kenya where we eventually a year later had the most amazing experience. She is patient, always available and very knowlagadbel. I highly recommend African Budget Safari and especially Claire as an agent.

Claire was absolutely amazing!!! My husband and I dreamed of coming to Africa for the last two years and Claire worked with us for 18 months, through the crazy of COVID to make our dreams come true. She created a custom itinerary for us where we were able to jump around to 4 different countries, with all the pandemic restrictions and border crossing rules met! She helped us at every step of the way from the planning and booking to the logistics of when we were in our trip. She was our absolute guardian angel making our trip so fabulous and our dreams come true. If you are hesitant about traveling in a post pandemic world- Claire is your person!

Planning a trip post-Covid was difficult and I contacted several other companies before stumbling across African Budget Safaris. Customer service from the other companies was severely lacking. Thankfully, African Budget Safaris made the process much less stressful. We worked with Claire to plan our safari. Initially, we were planning to travel around February or March and Claire created a fantastic itinerary for our trip. Unfortunately, due to travel restrictions and covid related uncertainty, we decided to postpone.

We eventually decided to try again for the July timeframe. Claire created another great trip itinerary for Kenya and we were ultimately able to follow through. Claire provided great communication throughout the process including while on the trip, which made everything a little less stressful. Great company I highly recommend.

Great company! We had our trip scheduled for July 2020 and had to reschedule due to Covid. So many issues came up during the scheduling and rescheduling and Claire was available during the process (even during her maternity leave!). Johannesburg went into level 4 lockdown less than 24hrs before our flight and Claire was amazing! She was amazing getting us last minute flights out of Johannesburg. She kept in touch the entire trip and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. I can’t say enough about how great she was and what a wonderful time we had. This was supposedly a “budget” safari, but felt 1st class the whole time.

From the minute I reached out to African Budget Safaris they could not have been more helpful. The responses were prompt and detailed. I primarily worked Claire Monson who was a great communicator and very knowledgeable. The planning process started more than a year out and throughout that time Claire checked in and made sure all my questions we're answered. Traveling during Covid adds an extra layer of detail and the team at African Budget Safaris was on top of everything in this ever changing travel environment. I would highly recommend this Safari planning company to anyone as they offer safaris for every budget and need. African Budget Safaris have been nothing short of amazing! I just returned from a fabulous 4 day Kruger trip booked through them and will be off to Botswana through them again. Bronwyn, Claire, and the entire AFB team made the experience as smooth as possible and made sure no detail was missed. Highly recommend!

African Budget Safaris was a wonderful resource helping me and my wife experience the trip of a lifetime on our honeymoon in Kenya. Traveling during a pandemic was a scary proposition, but from the time we landed in Kenya until the time we were dropped back off at the airport we felt completely taken care of.

From the beginning of communicating what we hoped to experience on our trip, to being given many options on accommodations, to getting the bookings taken care of African Budget Safaris handled the entire process not only effectively but at what seemed to be a significant price break from other companies we spoke with. If you are planning to take a trip to Africa we'd highly recommend using African Budget Safaris (Claire) for all of your planning/booking needs.

As a side note, even with Covid being an ongoing issue we never once felt unsafe in Kenya and in fact felt much safer from Covid then we do at home in the United States. If your county is allowing travel we see no reason to delay your holiday.

We traveled with African Budget Safaris for a 3day tour at Kruger National Park and the experience was amazing. We were a bit nervous about travelling during these challenging times but Claire helped us with every single detail, before and after our tour and made our experience incredible.She reassured us several times (especially with the PCR logistics) and gave us a lot of tips for South Africa. Thank you sooooo much!!! That was amazing trip. I have feeling like i have seen cartoon "lion the King" alive. We have seen All possible and impossible animals in wild nature! And this stars on a absolutely Black sky at night... And sounds of nature. And how wind smelled. Like after some nice flowers and spices.
Safari team (staff) was incredible. Our guide Charles knew sooooo much about all kind of animals, i could not believe) and he always tried to reach as first places, where animals came near to see them. and camps, matrasses, sleeping bags were very comfortable. Meals during the Day - Just wow)
That was most impressive trip during my life!
I wish, next time i Will Come to see big migration.
I really falled in love with Tanzania.

We have organized with the help of African budget safari, in particular Claire, a safari tour in Kenya and Tanzania.
Experience has been excellent. Beside the sightseeings themselves that are amazing, the professionality in organizing the tour, the speed in answer any doubt and the assistance have been great.
Also the travel organization has been good, with nice and comfortable accomodation and the full travel experience always assisted by a professional local guide. This has helped us to feel safe during the full duration of the travel.
Nevertheless it's probably the best ratio quality-price I've found in web for travel in Africa. No hidden costs or surprises.
I for sure reccomend them for a tour in Africa, and a speciap mention to Claire for the passion she puts in her job to make your travel experience the best possible

Upon booking our trip, Claire impressed us with her excellence and efficiency. She saw to it that our whole trip ran smoothly. The safari was fantastic! Right from the hospitality, to the delicious food including the knowledge of the rangers. Will most definitely make use of their services in future and would highly recommend them to anyone who would love to be spoiled!

Any stress of trying to arrange a breakaway was removed for me by Claire from African Budget Safaris. All I had to do was pack my suitcase and go and enjoy my holiday.

I was warmly welcomed by the Africa on Foot Crew.
My room was clean and well presented.
My outside shower was great on the Saturday when it was 39 degrees. Not great on Sunday when it was cold and windy.
The food was well prepared.
The honesty bar worked well because drinks were available at all times.
Their little shop has a lovely range of goods which is reasonably priced.
The game drives were fab and game rangers were knowledgeable but honest if they didnt know the answer to a question.
Guests must be prepared for limited hot water due to the camp being solar powered.
I recommend ABS and Africa on Foot to anyone wanting friendly, professional, personal service.

We did a lot of research on safari companies and are so happy that we went with African Budget Safaris. We dealt with Claire who couldn't have been more helpful and prompt when answering questions and giving suggestions and who we found genuinely friendly and warm. It made every aspect of booking our trip not only easy but a pleasure and we felt very assured that our safari would be as special as the customer service we received. This was borne out on our trip. We booked an 8 day tented camp/lodge safari in Kenya and had the most spectacular holiday we've ever had. It surpassed our expectations in all respects. It was also incredibly good value. African Budget Safaris is an agent and based on our experience we'd guess that they are very thoughtful and careful about which safari companies they work with. We were also impressed with how well the processes lined up with the local safari company in Kenya - it was seamless. We're not ones to use booking agents generally but in this case it really helped and we're glad we did - we don't think we'd have got better ourselves. Our South African Garden Route Drive Yourself trip was fantastic from start to finish. Claire was the most knowledgeable, flexible and congenial advisor/tour representative ever! She selected an exceptionally perfect itinerary that looped through the Garden Route from CapeTown.
We drove ourselves in the car arranged by Claire and African Budget Travel. With the detailed map and directions provided, we were able to visit incredible animal parks and gorgeous game reserves that allowed us up close and personal encounters with elephants, zebras, lions, penguins and much more wildlife. Several stays included game drives and wonderful accommodations.
Each lodge or cabin Claire arranged for us was located in a gorgeous setting and very near the national parks and reserves we wished to visit. She provided easily followed directions, instructions and local hints that helped us navigate easily and confidently knowing all the details were covered.
We were provided with a well planned driving route with written directions and maps so we could travel at our own pace and still be assured of confidently driving throughout the countryside and always find our first class accommodations easily.
We look back at the photos we took and can’t believe how fortunate we were to have Claire as our our trip advisor. We even met up with her at a lovely oceanside resort for a picnic lunch we purchased at the outdoor cafe.
Claire was the most thorough, patient and knowledgeable trip advisor we could ever hope for.
Our South African tour was the trip of a lifetime!

I don't even know where to start. I had an amazing life changing experience my recent visit to south Africa.
