Knowing that an African safari is truly a once in a lifetime experience, we could not have picked a better company to tour with. Our tour guides were experienced, helpful and friendly. The trackers at the various sites were knowledgeable and gracious, giving us an education about the land and the different species of animals that we saw. We were blessed to have a great bunch of fellow travelers on our safari that made it seem as though we were a big family on vacation together. Guides Cabous and Bianka led us in the camaraderie as we made our way from site to site, exploring the wonders of Africa. We were impressed with the accommodations along the way as they were very comfortable and had the private en suite bathrooms with showers and/or tubs. It didn't seem like we were "roughing it" at all.

The wildlife viewing, whether by poling through the Okavango Delta, on a game drive by truck, or even in our overland vehicle between sites, was spectacular. I will say to any future travelers that you will ride on the roughest roads of your lifetime, but every bump and dip in the road is well worth it. And, oh those African sunsets... What a fantastic trip it was!

Claire Monson was so helpful in getting our booking with African Budget Safaris. She was prompt in responding to all our inquiries which made the planning so easy and smooth. When we hit an airline snag along the way, she stayed in contact with our guides to ensure that we made the trip. Her assistance was a blessing to us!

This is the second time I've used African Budget Safaris for my trip to South Africa, and it won't be last. If you’re having doubts about booking, PLEASE DON’T! I had a great experience on my trip due to African Budget Safaris. The customer service was a plus, my agent Claire kept in prompt contact whenever I was in need of information and even offered ideas on things to do in the area, they provide pick up as well, and not to mention.. the price was affordable. I would totally recommend this booking agency to EVERYONE.

We struck gold when we discovered ABS. Claire was our contact from our early planning stages until the conclusion of our actual trip some 13 months later. We emailed Claire with many, many questions ( in fact, we might hold the record for most communications) and always her responses were thorough, thoughtful and filled with insight. Never ever did we receive a “cut and paste” response. In fact, we even had discussions about the politics, economic issues, and recommendations for great reads on Africa. When Claire found out we wanted to hike Lion’s Head in Cape Town, she checked to see if there would be a full moon during our Cape Town dates! Above and beyond! This is no ordinary company! As for the actual trip...WOW! We stayed at incredible places, most of them small, remote and lovely. Claire set us up with several different Safari companies who guided us throughout our travels from Johannesburg to Kruger to Vic Falls to Hwange to Okavango Delta. Claire provided options to explore and then we finalized decisions. The guides were committed to our safety, very professional and extremely knowledgeable. We went to see animals and yes, we saw animals! And more animals! The Big Five? Yes! We did numerous game drives as well as guided bush walks. We learned so much each day. The people we met along the way were special, treating us like family.

Lions, elephants, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippos, rhinos, cheetahs, leopards, gazelle, and many more animals were seen on our trip! Even monkeys!!! Warthogs!

I have nothing but optimal praises for this company! I began my venture of booking a safari experience, and I’m so glad that I stumbled upon this website. I inquired about a few packages, and Claire Monson was my primary contact.

Claire was supremely professional, extremely helpful, very patient with my inconsistent decisions, and most importantly, personable and genuine. Her expertise and recommendations came with sincere care and profession, and I have nothing but 5+ stars for her!

Each activity within my package was highly enjoyed! No complaints at all. I was a solo traveler, and booked my package as a single person. Additional people joined some of my booked activities, and the company appropriately reimbursed me.

In the future, if I or a family member/associate decides to go to Africa, I will not think twice and direct them directly to this company. Every person I had interacted with, affiliated with this company, was so great and very memorable.

Once in a lifetime experience.
I had a great trip with African Budget Safaris, I booked very last minute but I had lovely e-mail contact with Claire and she fixed everything for me. The trip itself was quite an adventure with a very enthousiastic guide.

Dealing with African Budget Safari was excellent. I arranged my 1 night safari at Inverdoorn from the UK by emails Claire Monson of ABS would always respond to my email within 24 hours.
As for the safari at Inverdoorn, I had to phone them when they did not call to arrange a pick up time. The minibus arrived on time and the driver was excellent.
If you are going for 1 night be prepared to be on the go from he moment you arrive.
If you didn’t get to see all of the big 5 on the first drive in the evening, they make sure they that you get to see them on he second drive the next morning.
All in all an excellent experience.

All thanks to Claire of African Budget Safaris for the most brilliant holiday in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. This is the second African holiday that Claire has helped me to organize and I would recommend her wholeheartedly. It's hard to know where to start, but one of the most important things for me was that working with Claire made me feel as if I was organizing a holiday with a friend. She was efficient and super-prompt with all work and communication. She was always helpful with good inside information and had great ideas for different tours which dove-tailed in well together. All flights, transfers, tours and hotel bookings were arranged perfectly, we really appreciated her accuracy. Claire was also very patient with us, as the booking was for a large and diverse group and we seemed to change plans, people and dates all too frequently. A truly wonderful holiday Claire. Thank you so much. Ugandan gorillas would have to be the highlight!

African Budget Safaris offer fantastic tours - they hepled us arrange our trip to Inverdoorn Game Reserve and we were blown away by the amazing accomodation, the quality of the park tour and the knowledge of the staff. From start to finish African Budget Safaris, and our contact Claire, offered excellent friendly service. Should we be back in Africa, African Buget Safaris will be our first contact for our next trip.

My daughter and I had the trip of a lifetime, and are very glad we found ABS online to help us with planning our trip to South Africa! Claire was extremely helpful and responsive with all of our questions and concerns with planning our lodging in the Johannesburg area, our Safari in Sabi Sands and our Garden Tour out of Cape Town. When we had a small issue with a day tour in Johannesburg, she responded immediately and helped to quickly resolve the issue. She helped us work out last minute changes so that we were able to go with Tydon Safaris to their Bush Camp, when were originally booked at a different camp in a different part of greater Kruger.

One bit of advise would be to make sure people know that they need to book flights from Johannesburg out of Tambo airport (not Joburg/Lanseria). We didn't know this ( we didn't see it written anywhere on the website) and originally booked our fight to CapeTown from Lanseria , as both Tambo and Lanseria were listed as Johannesburg airports on Expedia. Luckily Francois, the lodge owner, noticed this on our itinerary, and we were able to change our flight to Tambo. However, this caused a bit of stress and confusion and initially it didn't look like we could change our flight. If we couldn't change to Tambo, we would've had to pay a hefty airport transfer fee and not been able to be dropped at the airport by Tydon Safaris (which would've been a huge hassle). A completely avoidable issue, if we'd known beforehand. Luckily, it all worked out! We loved Tydon Safaris, and were so grateful to Claire for her help with coordinating for us to go with Tydon! Also, the staff at the Outlook Lodge, especially Amelia and Francois, were amazing in making our stay in Johannesburg the best it could be and we can see why ABS uses the Outlook.

I was a bit hesitant to book my honeymoon trip through African Budget Safaris, but once I started corresponding with Claire Monson I knew I was in good hands. She booked my wife and me with Tydon Safaris and we were not disappointed. The staff of Tydon Safaris took care of us like we were the only VIPs on the site. The food and accommodations were excellent and I would highly recommend Tydon Safaris. In addition, Claire booked us with Batoka Safaris for our trip to Victoria Falls and they were just as good as Tydon. Overall the trip was amazing and between Tydon and Batoka there was always someone to greet us whether it was at the airport or the hotels we stayed in. Claire was an excellent communicator and explained the cost breakdown in detail and really helped make our honeymoon a trip to remember. Thank you, Claire, Tydon and Batoka for one amazing experience!

Had a wonderful time on safari! Couldn't fault African Budget Safaris at all! Very quick at responding to queries and also the booking was very easy and quick. Special mention to Claire for organising our trip she was very friendly, organised and also accommodated our needs even arranging transport to our front door when the shuttle we wanted to go on was full. This is the second time we've booked through these and would happily book again!
