4 days of no internet. Told me to buy a new router. Still not working, wasted money on buying a new router as advised by them, but the router was never the problem. Countless hours on WhatsApp chat tr... See more

Poor Service and Disrespectful Support
I upgraded my fibre line to 100/50 since June through Afrihost (Vuma line), and since then, it’s been a nightmare. My speeds have been far below what I’m paying for – the most recent test showed 26.67 Mbps download and 4.01 Mbps upload. I’ve logged multiple tickets, and every time I’m told a technician will come out… but no one ever arrives. Instead, the tickets keep getting marked as “resolved” without any visit to my property.
What’s worse is that I was repeatedly told that a LAN cable should’ve been provided, only to later be told by a manager that Afrihost doesn’t provide one at all. The manager completely dismissed my concerns, showed zero empathy, and told me I must just go buy my own cable. When I asked to escalate further, his response was, “Sure, maybe then you would listen.” Incredibly condescending and unprofessional.
I’m not asking for special treatment, I’m simply trying to get the service I’ve paid for, and the support experience has been frustrating, inconsistent, and frankly, insulting. I’m starting a new job that requires a reliable connection, and this entire situation has caused unnecessary stress.
Really disappointed. Afrihost used to be reliable, but this experience has left me seriously questioning whether they care about their customers at all.
If there is a 0 rating this company…
If there is a 0 rating this company will get it. They have no service delivery and clients has to deal with the problems they need to sort with their subcontractors or service providers. There is no compensation for internet services down and a free router will get charged for R999.00 if cancel after you order after waiting more than a month and wasting work time and airtime communicating with them.. a fee must be paid before you get router but they'll want their router back before return payment, Absolutely no compensation, Afrihost very bad service, not service providers, service providers to subcontractors who can't communicate with their subcontractors correctly or at all
Best Fibre Hosting ISP for me is Afrihost
I have been assisted a great deal at Afrihost by all that I have been connected to from day 1 plus they assisted me in Migrating my line from my previous ISP with a seamless process. I would like to extend my heart filled thanks to these employees from Palesa my first person to chat to about the packages, Kate, Lerato, Rudzani, Phillip at accounts, Fezile B at accounts, Celeste at installation department, Thamo at installation department and Lee Ann at accounts. I appreciate you all for the way teamwork is in your culture. Ladies and gentlemen at Afrihost I appreciate you. I completely understand the long waits however I am happy to have you doing the level of customer service that truly satisfies all my needs. Thank you, Afrihost, for having so many channels that you are contactable, from a landline to callbacks even on the weekend and I am able to call you at the toll-free number plus there is Whatsapp Business. I would recommend your Fibre to all who work from home as there is peace of mind especially with the MAX-UPTIME product that covers you in the event that your TP-LINK loses connection, the LTE router acts as a FAILOVER which we remote workers need to stay on the ethernet cable at all times. God Bless you All.
I got scammed and lied to
I got recommended by a friend to use there services and decided to trust them and signed up the next day. After a year of waiting they gave us access. I asked if my Fibre lines would connect as I thought that was the reason I had to wait a year cause ours didnt pair. I asked to confirm if that was the case and I was assisted. They told me it would work. When I tried to set up my router I had issue after issue. After a month I was told that my Fibre lines actually don't work with afrihost and needed to install different ones. This would have cost me a lot and I decided to cancel. When I cancelled I found out that I needed to wait 3 months before it would officially cancel. I had to pay for the month I had no internet because I was fed misinformation and then had to pay 3 more months. These people are just money hungry. My previous isp canceled me within days and let me send the router back instead of paying for it.
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever! You won’t get anywhere with support and they made over 7 promises to rectify the situation before going completely quiet.
Bad service Afrihost
The wifi went off on Wednesday called afrihost told us there is a dead port on WI Fi rooter they will convey the problem to openserv because the fault is on their side was phoned by openserv and fault is not on their side afrihost must sort it out I tried the WhatsApp route got a lady Nonhle S said she will send a technician phoned Afrihost spoke to David was just said they will look into the problem nothing was done phoned on Friday spoke to Thabang which he said the ticket was closed my problem were solved, after losing my cool he said he was going to phone Telkom after an hour he phoned and the wifi was back on only for 2 hours and no wifi again so phoned Afrihost and back to square 1 it's a openserve problem and still without wifi😠
They lack integrity and honesty
So not only have they been delaying my order but they keep lying and making excuses about it. Like why not just be transparent and honest about what is actually happening? Also why am I the one that has to constantly follow you to do your job?! Don’t even get me started on the fact that I’m the one who placed the order and paying for the services for MY APARTMENT but being lied to and kept in the dark on the progress of the order yet they are being honest with my partner despite the man not even living here! Like is it that difficult to pick up the phone or send me an email and just explain the situation? Why I thought they would be better than any other provider is beside me.
Afrihost worst ever internet service provider
Terminated my contract with no warning or reason after being with them for 2 and a half years and conveniently over a weekend so I would be out of internet as well and not be able to find someone else to provide me with internet.
Fraudsters doubled billed me for top up…
Fraudsters doubled billed me for top up data..they intentionally throttle yiur network to struggle. Avoid at all costs..I'm glad I cancel my service..one of the worst service providers...I will never use them ever again...
Sassy Network Provider
Sassy Network Provider
By far the sassiest company I've ever seen. I was applying for one of their Pure LTE services and they blocked my account saying I need to contact security department and they provided me with an email address.
From there onwards it was all backed up by rude and vague emails.
They wasted 3 weeks of my time whereas they could have just spared me the nonsense and cut the chase.
Afrihost - Airmobile
Afrihost – Extremely Disappointed with AirMobile Support
I’ve been a loyal Afrihost customer since 2013, but my recent experience with their AirMobile division has been nothing short of frustrating. I’ve been trying to do a simple eSIM swop to a physical SIM for weeks now due to a broken device — yet the process has become a nightmare.
Despite clearly providing my address in the email (which they claimed was missing), my message was ignored. When I resent the same email, there was no acknowledgment or admission of their oversight. I even agreed to pay the applicable swop fee, but after that — complete silence. No SIM card. No response. No service.
To make matters worse, it now seems they’ve issued a new eSIM instead of the physical SIM I specifically requested — defeating the entire purpose of this long and painful process.
This level of service is unacceptable. Communication is poor, accountability is lacking, and the client support feels non-existent. Sadly, after more than a decade with Afrihost, I’m now seriously considering switching providers.
What a disaster dealing with Lerato T…
What a disaster dealing with Lerato T via WhatsApp chat, poor customer consult etiquette. Lack of product knowledge. I am disgusted in the service received! Definitely not recommending anyone to use this service.
Shocking service
We have an LTE device with Afrihost that an employee uses. On 26th April, the monthly daytime data ran out. My employee tried to get it to work, and put the SIM in her cell phone to see if it would work there (yes, not a good idea) and MTN blocked the SIM. I went on to WhatsApp to find out what was happening from an Afrihost customer service agent. Firstly, by the time they respond, you are on another tab and you don't see them. So it times out. Repeat, hello Afrihost.... x 10 before I finally had a human on the other end who investigated (more waiting and timing out) and found out about the block for placing it in a cellphone. I asked them to request a lift. Was told it would take 3 to 24 hours!!! A day later, still no internet. I topped up with 2 x 5 gig bundles. Still no internet. The dashboard showed lots of nighttime data but zero daytime data. Even the 2 top-ups showed zero data available. 1 May passed by, when we should have been allocated a new 40 GB. Still nothing. LTE is not working. Lights blinking but no one is home. More WhatsApp fun with Afrihost and little effective response. I finally did send a message on the ticket log screen- Demanding an escalation. Then I demanded a callback. Finally someone gave me a telephone number to call. An agent said they were asking MTN for a data usage report to verify that nothing was used. They said they would get back to me. Still no answer on 9th May. I have cancelled the LTE. Perhaps MTN is to blame - but why no feedback from Afrihost? My employee works online remotely. And she has not been able to do so effectively for 2 weeks!! Goodbye Afrihost.
From Afrihost to Afrighost
Client service levels at Afrihost have gone down. Phones and the WhatsApp helpline took almost half an hour to answer when I had an issue this morning. My service was disconnected for a whole business day because the "new" app wouldn't allow me to change my payment details so that I could pay with my new bank card. Then it took a whole day for them to eventually tell me why my service couldn't immediately be restored. No one seems to have any discretion to take some simple steps to make me a happy customer again.
Atrocious Service
I’ve been with Afrihost for a decade. I’ve moved to the Cape and my fibre line does not work. They blame my router but when I provide details they simply don’t respond. Even an attempt to order a new router from them seemed to go through ok but I’ve received no confirmation and a request to support to acknowledge the order has met with silence. Over the past 12 hours I’ve received the worst service I’ve ever received from any organisation in this country- and that’s really saying something…..
I have been with you for 4 years and…
I have been with you for 4 years and your customer service is pathetic!!! I have had issues with my line for 6 months!!!! You guys are quick to say reboot and yet don't send someone to check the router. But you are more than happy to take my money????? How nice. I am disappointed in you as a company and will be changing providers at this rate
Worst. Service. Ever from Afrihost. And that's still the understatement of the past 5 decades.
What an absolute disaster of an ISP, and that's putting it politely and mildly. I have had no internet for the past 4 days. And due to my own efforts of reaching the network provider, I learned that not only did Afrihost not escalate the fault I had initially reported, but they also blatantly lied to me time and time again about the reason my internet was down. I called to speak to a manager about this, and guess what? The call center agent said there were no managers to assist. Her direct manager was not at work, and the other team leaders/supervisors were in another part of the building, so there was no manager to speak to. Lol. This honestly can't be real life. What a mess of a business, only Heaven knows how yall are still in business.
It has been a week since our fiber is…
It has been a week since our fiber is running at less than 3mbps. I have spoken to countless Afrihost staff members who have no idea what they are doing. A call was logged with Vumatel. The Technician never pitched. All Afrihost does is say we apologise for the inconvenience. Your service and expertise are seriously lacking to say the least. The incompetence is astounding.
ABSULUTELY useless company to deal with.
I have been with Afrihost for 2 years
I have been with Afrihost for 2 years. I have no issues with the Internet but heaven help you when something goes wrong they customer service is the worse I have eer encountered quick to get you off chat and refer you to self help. I am cancelling my service as this is not acceptable in this day and age.
Daylight robbery
If we had an option to not even give a star I would definitely choose that. The worst ISP ever. I want my refund processed asap. You guys are scanners who take money and do not provide the service nor do we get our money back. Anyone thinking of getting wifi, DO NOT USE WEBAFRICA and AFRIHOST , THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
I WANT MY REFUNDS ASAP
