We had a poor experience with AgeChecked. The system created checkout friction, caused failed and abandoned purchases, and generated customer complaints. Legitimate customers struggled to complete purchases, which harmed conversions and wasted a lot of management time.

We also experienced recurring charges that were not properly explained, and when we raised formal complaints, the responses were delayed and not properly addressed.

We eventually removed the system from our website because it was doing more harm than good. Based on our experience, I would not recommend the service.

Absolutely useless system. The age verification on this site/software is a complete joke. I tried multiple times, with different methods, and nothing worked. Not once. Because their broken verification process couldn’t do the one job it’s supposed to do, my order was cancelled. On top of that, I lost a major discount code that I can’t use anymore, all thanks to their incompetent setup. Total waste of time. Fix your system.

I tried several times to verify my driving licence on their website but couldn't get beyond my email address which it said it recognised and so I had to log in ( I have never used this site before). I tried a password but it was rejected so then I changed my password but it still wouldn't recognise or let me in. I never got to put in my driving licence details! However the order appears to have gone through anyway. What a complete waste of time.

Verification worked (read: failed) so badly on a phone that I'm now concerned that the company was a scam.
Also there's no assurance that GDPR will be adhered to during verification.

link did not work on phone , when tried on computer it managed to take photos but then said could not verify - with no options to continue.

Trying to buy some caustic soda online, sent an agechecked link, which completely failed, both credit card option (ended up just hanging), and data-checked (simply failed). No retry option, just fail, fail, fail.

I took a picture of the front and back of my driving licence. Getting it in frame took three goes because the app does not tell you straight away whether the result is ok - or what it is doing with it apart from a green line apparently scanning the photo. The picture on my licence is some 20 years (or more old). In the intervening years I have aged (now 78) and need glasses to read my phone screen.
I was asked to verify my licence by taking a photo of myself.
I took a full face photo.
I was then asked to turn my head to the right and so couldn't see the screen. When I peeked out of the corner of my eye it told me I had moved so I tried again. Unable to see the screen again I was unaware that my head had drifted out of frame. We started again.Same problems but then I realised that I was being asked for a left face shot. Again, looking out of the corner of my eye I saw it was asking me to bloody smile. Being a somewhat grumpy old man with an arthritic neck a smile was far from my thoughts. However, I tried a grimace in each shot and the app gave up and told me I had failed and to contact the selling company.

Seamless experience, no issues whatsoever, received an email confirming successful check, no further action necessary!

The three squares are still going round after one hour. A useless piece of junk. Now I have to call the company I purchased from and try to resolve age verification. I wouldn't mind but I am 63 years old

Utter scam.
Its criminal this company is allowed to operate.

I would give a nought rating if I could. Dreadful, incompetent service, they are losing trade for businesses that deal with them. Totally useless.

Does not work whatsoever!! Credit card - cannot verify! Driving license - cannot verify! Personal details - cannot verify! What a lot of rubbish !! I understand the reason for a website like this but it needs to work. Now my order will not be fulfilled

Just will not work, completely useless stopped me buying from a company I use regularly. I have had my driving licence from 1973.
The age check links will not work, saying wrong password but will not let me enter a changed one.
Saying wrong email address - but I only use one email address

I have previously signed up to Agechecked and on returning my password wasn’t valid. Maybe I’d mis-saved it or something else but I followed the link to change it, and no matter what I did it would not complete the process giving error messages each attempt. So my only alternative would be to generate a new email address to sign up again which I’m not prepared to do. No help feature, no tips on how to find the issue, just good old “computer says no” attitude. No thank you. I won’t be using the suppler again either.

I would give 0 stars, if it was an option! Worst waste of my time ever! Couldn’t verify using any data, such as driving licence or personal data - dispute the fact I paid through PayPal? Have held a driving licence for thirty years….. Then the back and forth to emails… Absolute rubbish, why a company would use them I don’t know. I’m only thankful I didn’t give my credit card details, as I have no faith in this company’s ability to keep my data safe!!!
