Cold calls for months that won't stop

Used to have the insurance but renewed with someone else as better. They have sold my data to a call centre that calls every day from a new unknown number. Asked for them to stop calling for weeks. I'm going to report to ICO and invoice them for every call.

AIG staff have been great

Last week, while skiing in icy conditions in the Austrian Alps, I fell and injured my knee. The ski rep recommended a local GP, where I received prompt and excellent treatment. As this was a private consultation, I realised that I would have to make a claim on my travel insurance. So I contacted the medical emergency assistance department of my insurance company, AIG. As I have existing medical conditions, I always buy my insurance through Just Travel. AIG had the cover I needed at a reasonable price.

Their team has been absolutely fantastic. All through the rest of my week in Austria (unfortunately my accident happened at the end of my second day skiing), I had regular updates from my case handler, Fanny. She arranged a medical consultation, in order to determine my needs. Then she organised a change of seating for my flight home to give me extra leg room to accommodate the splint I was wearing. Added to this was wheelchair assistance from the departure lounge, through check in and security, all the way to boarding the plane.

The day after I returned home, I had a call to make sure I had got home okay, followed swiftly by an email with the claim form attached, and details of how to make my claim. Having returned the completed form, I have had a call to let me know that the company has everything they need to make a decision, and I should hear from them in 3-5 working days.

The whole experience of dealing with AIG has been easy, smooth and extremely professional. Also, everyone that I have been in contact with has made my comfort and wellbeing the priority.

Apple care with theft+ is administered…

Apple care with theft+ is administered by these charlatans. My phone was snatched in London. And they won’t pay me out as they say find my phone wasn’t active. What the thieves have done I think is remove the battery. The phone is showing as having find my enabled on it yet they don’t want to replace my old iPhone 13 Pro that I’ve been paying into this scam for, for the past 5 years. May as well have saved my money and would have financed a new phone instead. Or perhaps I’ll find another insurance provider. You have been warned.

I will try to limit what I pay to AIG

I dont trust that being insured with AIG is in my best interests and I will pay them minimal funds in future. Very surprised at the low payment (from an personal accident cover) for a full knee ACL rupture and miniscus damage that will have debilitating effects on my quality of life and my ability to apply myself professionally for years. The feedback system was very shifty too, only focused on how easy it was to claim, as opposed to whether I felt the claim was sufficient. Seemed to me that these stats would be sold to future would be customers to get them to pay a lot of money like I did, only to be disappointed with the payout. I dont trust this insurer is existing to provide me with a decent value product, it may be that their only goal is to maximise their profits. This also gives me wider doubts about US insurance providers compared to european ones.

Money Grabbers

Wouldn't pay out on my mum's death insurance. Stated she had something but that something wasn't want she died of.
Customer service is one of the worse I have ever came across, very rude and couldn't even my mother's name.
Supervisor was very cheeky and came across in a threatening manner.
Please do not be tempted to take any insurance from them and I personally don't think they should be operating in the UK.

AppleCare+ AIG = not a good match

Took out AppleCare+ thinking that, because it’s Apple, it would be decent insurance due to the premium that Apple offer to their customers. If anything was to taint Apple’s reputation, is the dealings you have to go through when losing your phone via AIG.

I was told that my claim was “automatically approved” and yet, at the time of writing this review, it’s been 2 weeks since I made the claim and still no tracking information regarding a new device, meaning I’ve been without a phone for 2 weeks. Most recently, I was told that the tracking information would be at least another week which means it will be 3 weeks since the claim was put in, and whether I will receive any tracking information at this point is anyones guess. That’s just the tracking information. God knows when I will receive the actual device.

Do NOT get AppleCare+ with loss and theft. Stick to what you know works.

Apple using this rubbish company for replacement phone after losing, they not good Apple find please better company.

I have been paying for AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss through AIG Insurance for about 4 years, which means I’ve already spent around £700 on insurance. The whole reason I kept paying was for peace of mind – that if my iPhone was ever lost or stolen, I could simply make a claim and receive a replacement without unnecessary stress.

Unfortunately, my recent claim has been nothing but a frustrating experience. Instead of support, I am getting endless emails with pointless questions and delays. My phone was lost or possibly stolen at the Redhill Centre, yet AIG seems more interested in finding loopholes and excuses than actually helping me.

Apple is a premium brand, but their partnership with AIG Insurance feels completely the opposite – unhelpful, useless, and designed to avoid paying out. After paying insurance for 4 years, I’ve basically already paid the full value of the iPhone, and still AIG is trying to make the process as difficult as possible.

I would not recommend AIG Insurance to anyone. They do not deliver the service you expect and deserve, and they make you feel like they are looking for any excuse not to honour the policy. Truly disappointing experience.

Absolutely disgusting customer service

Absolutely disgusting customer service from the person I spoke to on the phone. I only wanted assistance with registering my online account to see my benefits as I kept getting an error message. Only to be told that it's not a feature they have and proceed to talk down to me the entire call. I'm a very cool and level headed person but I genuinely have never been spoken to like that by a representative in my life. If If I spoke to a customer that way in my job, I'd be out of a job!

Also, was told straight lies as I tried to register on my laptop and it worked (must have been a bug when I attempted before), so the rep didnt even have the right information!

No wonder they had to merge with Aviva (an actually great company).
Had life insurance with them for years, but I will now be canceling.

Please avoid taking apple+ care plan

Please avoid taking apple+ care plan, you will think it’s a good insurance supplied by apple. But when you have phone stolen or lost, apple won’t interfere and AIG customer services is next to non. Mostly they won’t accept your claim if they do still you will not get anything for weeks.
Two weeks after approved claim still waiting no news. Money wasted, my bank has better phone insurance cover this crap.

Unreliable Travel Insurance

We purchased an annual travel insurance policy through Qantas Insurance, provided by AIG. I broke my leg while skiing in a remote resort in Japan (tibia, fibula & tibial plateau), requiring extensive reconstructive surgery and two months post-op. recuperation in hospital according to the local surgeon, so he recommended the surgery be performed in Australia. AIG requested scant information and refused repatriation, without properly investigating the seriousness of the injury or the local facilities and offering no alternative solutions. We were in no position to argue with the local surgeon or AIG so we had to arrange our own medevac with Careflight (who were wonderful). AIG subsequently reimbursed approx. 1/3 of our costs. Do not rely on AIG in your hour of need.
