Very good

They canceled the flights but they gave me the money back as form of voucher.
Customer service was good.

I flew them back in November 2018 from Madrid to Salvador and the service was exceptional.

Horrible service

Horrible service. Paying 100 dollar extra for taking my own luggage. Only one miserable meal on a 11 hour trip. They cancelled my trip only 48 hours before take off because of Covid19, when the lockdown had started long before that. Alternatives were 10 times as expensive, so I had to take an United Airlines flight (with wonderful service btw). Still waiting for my money back after 5 months, no one answers the phone or email. Never ever in my life will I even consider flying with these crooks.

Really bad experience. Bad customer service.

You will never be able to talk to a representative on the phone. We had to buy the ticket twice because they made a mistake and they will not reimburse one of them. The customer service person in the Porto airport was not only useless but rude. Avoid if possible.

over 3h waiting on the phone for answer on my ticket

Bought a Ticket that was reschedule. In the e-mail communicating the change there was a link to either accept it or change for a voucher. The link did not worked, I tried to call 3 times, over 1 hour waiting in all of them and at the end they just hang-up. The website says if your flight was changed by the company you can not change it in the platform, and because of that I will lose other 2 tickets related to the same trip.

Worst customer service ever!

This is the worst customer service experience ever! The airline cancelled the flight, no information to me, I found out by going online. No refund, no voucher. I wrote them a letter, emails, twitter messages, tried unsuccessfully to call them many times, no response for two months. This company is just a big scam.
I strongly recommend to refrain from booking with them.

Liars, thieves and just straight up nasty

A quick glance at Air Europa's social media accounts tells you all you need to know about this rogue airline. They don't pay refunds for the flights they cancel. 'They can only offer a voucher'.

The thing is under EU law if your flight is cancelled for any reason you are due a full, CASH refund. But Air Europa doesn't care about the law, it doesn't care about it's planes (which are filthy and old) and it most certainly doesn't care about it's customers.

I tried several times to get a refund but was greeted with some very hostile phone agents who lied though their teeth to try and convince me I wasn't due a refund.

I was fortunate in I that was able to initiate a chargeback on my credit card to get the money back that was fraudulently taken. If you can I recommend you do the same as you won't get anywhere with this companies crooked customer service agents.

Avoid at all costs. The flights may look cheaper on comparison websites but when you factor in the hidden costs are no better than more reputable airlines.

Air Europa customer service is bad

First And last time that I buy a ticket with Air Europa. Is been the worst experience & the worst customer service not helpful at all! I contacted the company in many ocasiones to get my money back with not luck or help. The Airline cancelled my flights to Spain due to COVID 19 pandemic. They want to give me a voucher but I don’t want the voucher. At this point I don’t want to travel. Due to the pandemic I know I am entitled to get my money back since the ticket was cancelled due to the pandemic was not my fault.

Avoid this airline at all costs, better options are available

I paid roughly £600 for a flight with a 2 hour lay over in Madrid from the UK to Cuba including a return.

For £100 more I have flown with other airlines to Thailand, South Africa and Australia and had pleasant experiences on board, I thought my experience with air europa would marry up but I was wrong.

My flight to Madrid wasn't too bad, a cross between easy jet and ryan air - it was about 2 hours so I wasn't fussed.

Flying from Madrid to Cuba was horrendous, the seats weren't anything special, leg room was ok (a passenger behind me decided to put her bare feet between mine and my friends seat but that wasn't the airline's fault), I was shocked however to discover that I had to pay for headphones to access their in-flight entertainment system.
Have I missed, something where headphones are no longer given out for free to be returned or is this the new way that airlines are heading?!?!?! - first and last time I am doing something like that again.

The flight was 10 hours leaving Madrid at 3:35pm and arriving in Cuba at 7:30pm (local time), I was only offered a free drink once for the 10 hour flight and that was with my meal (which had little to no flavour) - this was given 1 hour into the flight and (make no mistake about this) no other free refreshments were offered for the rest of the flight - including water. If I did want to eat or drink something, I had to buy it and it was at an extortionate rate - a small pack of pringles was about 3 euros and a snackbox of olives and nuts was about 6-7 euros. I completed the rest of the 9 hour flight hungry.
Now I understand this happens on a short haul flight of about 2 hours or less, but on a long haul when I paid about £600, this is not at all what I was expecting.

Coming back the flight from Cuba to Madrid was about 7 hours, we left Cuba at 9:45pm (local time) and landed in Madrid at 12:20pm. Having learned from going there I stocked up on food before I got on the plane, but again no drinks were offered apart from with our meal which was served about an hour into the flight. The in-flight refreshment service was cancelled for the remainder of the flight on account of turbulence, at which point all the staff disappeared never to be seen until we were about to land.

I ended up becoming quite ill (from which I am still recovering as write this) because the air conditioning in the plane made the air very dry but there were no facilities to get water so I landed incredibly dehydrated, with a headache, blocked nose and a very dry/sore throat.

To to top it off, I wasn't able to choose any of the seats of my long haul flights without being charged an additional cost.

As an airline I have to rate the very very low, especially given the price I paid for my ticket. I will never use this airline again, for a long haul flight and for short haul there are cheaper options for the same standard of service.

I'm shocked that they were allowed to give such basic service, it's definitely not value for money, in fact I would see it as a waste.

I would say if you can, avoid using this airline at all costs! The experience is not worth the money you pay at all.

Funnily enough, they sent me a customer feedback survey for my flight to Cuba but not one for the flight back to UK may be they know they are rubbish.

I spend a lot of time travelling within…

I spend a lot of time travelling within Spain and to UK with Air Europa. Probably 40 flights in last two years. I don't recognise the bad service described here. I stopped using Iberia/BA because of the kind of dreadful service described here about Air Europa and for the most part I have found their service to be good. Equally for the most part I have found their cabin crew to be pleasant and helpful. Occasionally I have encountered rude and unpleasant staff but this has been rare. On a connecting flight I turned up at departure time and they held the plane for me and one other passenger. In terms of Spanish airlines I think they are the best by far. They have also changed non changeable flights for me without argument something BA/Iberia never did.

Their flights are generally on time and their frequent flyer programme part of Skyteam is much more generous and easier to climb levels - they don't have Tier points like BA/Iberia. Personally I think it's a shame they have been sold to Iberia/BA leaving no competition in Spain. They probably will go down the toilet once they are part of Iberia/BA which are poor value and rubbish.. I won't use them again that's for sure once they are sold.

This is the worst airline I ever used

This is the worst airline I ever used. Their website and app do not work at all. A customer service is practically non-existent. The first flight was delayed, the second one was cancelled. They won't refund. I'm taking this case to court now.
They blocked my account on their website. Search around the internet, this is definitely the worst European airline around.
