Artificial Insanity

I am a host. It's over 2 months that they hold the payments of 3 bookings. The assistance is inefficient, inadequate, frustrating: they ask for a document that I sent them several times, and every time they ask for the same thing as if I didn't send it. I think this service is managed by A.I. But beyond them there is an Artificial Insanity. I say this because don't want to think to a worse reason: holding the money you manage on behalf of someone else in my country is a crime

A NIGHTMARE

This company is so bad. As an owner you have very few information on the guests, no copy of ID, no postal address once somebody wants to book your property.
You don't know who is coming in your property, you don't even have all the names of all the guests... so Airbnb just ask you to say "YES" to your guests inquiries without any fiable informations. Once the booking is accepted, most of the time guests are reluctant to give more information, even just a copy of ID or the postal address. You don't have any contract signed by the guests, if you have pb with them, it's complicated to call Airbnb. By experience I called them on time when a guest did not come for check out and did not give back my keys... the answer of the call center was "I have to close this phone call because you don't give me the right 4 last digit of your bank account number" which BTW was right... I had my bank statement in front of me with the credit transaction AIRBNB...and my account number...
Anyway no help at all from Airbnb , when you have a pb, don't count on them... no help at all... and as they have the deposit, if you need to be reimburse of damages by the deposit ... don't dream... just nothing, no contract, no deposit, no help from Airbnb. Very bad experience. I was obliged to change 2 lockers at my charge...100$!
I must say also that most of the time Airbnb provides bad people who wants travel discreetly without giving their ID and basic information about them. I had several guests visited by several prostitutes ( you always learn that after... or they stay several days and they give back the apt in such state... This never happened before with other websites... Airbnb does not care, they manage the payment and the deposit and you just have to shut your mouth...
If you don't want have pb, or you care your home, believe me avoid them...

I have book a few stays and everything has been flawless w/ Airbnb

I have booked 4 or maybe 5 different stays thru Airbnb. I am a happy customer and met some great Hosts. Today, I booked a stay but within minutes realized I needed to cancelled but the funds go thru instantly. Airbnb looked at the situation and refunded all fees and charges. Airbnb Customer Service was great. My experience with another similar site (Flipkey) was stressful. Flipkey was unable to find me accommodation when one of the Flipkey owners cancelled our stay with one days notice. REALLY! Flipkey returned funds but what good it that, when I don't have a place to stay on NEW YEARS.

BEWARE! DO NOT USE AIRBNB. This company is a scam.

BEWARE! DO NOT USE AIRBNB. This company is a scam. We booked a weeklong stay in Italy with their site and quickly realized our mistake after talking to the property owner the same day and realizing that the price stated on AIRBNB and what the property owner was asking were different. The property owner was requesting more money. The listing also stated it was a 2 bedroom (which is what we needed) but the property owner clarified it was a one bedroom only. We immediately cancelled our reservation less than 24 hours after it had been booked and 19 days before our scheduled arrival. Keep in mind it is off season and the property's calendar was completely free. They took the full payment right away after our booking, which was 401 Euros ($508 dollars) and reimbursed us ONLY 174 Euros (220 Dollars). Meaning, THEY STOLE $288 DOLLARS from us! They are difficult to deal with and refuse to accept blame for the inconsistency in the price and number of rooms.
I hope this company has enjoyed reading this review because I will continue to post this on every site I can think of and will do so as often as I think of that $288 Dollars that could be paying for my electricity or food or gas or more fun experiences on my trip to Italy.
